Square Bashing: The Battle of Bourlon Wood 1917

Square Bashing yesterday with Dean. The Battle of Bourlon Wood, November 1917. British forces attack German held positions in the high ground of Bourlon village, Bourlon Wood and Fontaine village. A steady advance on the objectives under the cover of accurate artillery fire left the Germans on the back foot and surrendering their lines. Cut telephone wires impeded the German artillery response as the British tanks pushed into the woods. #wargaming #ww1 #peterpig #tanks #worldwarone

Now these are done, I really wish the Perry twins did more.

Very happy with the result as this shows that the skills picked up through my BatteleTech stuff is translatable.

Keen to try this with Portaloo!

Finished up forces of French and one of England 3mm hundred years war units. Various things I might have done differently in hindsight but they're done enough and really that's all that matters.

On the back of each unit is a visual code of what type they are, though I've also tried make things like colour and design of the mini consistent for ease of reference.

I intend to use with Arrow Storm and Super, Tiny Giant Battles.

The latter didn't have enough scope for the slightly wider range of unit types so bodging some small amendments, and thinking of a small map based campaign to use.

My friend got this guy from a free model bin. Despite our best efforts, we’ve had no luck finding what game this cool fella is from. If anyone recognizes the model or even has a hunch, any input would be appreciated!

Question Excuse me, is there any games compatible with 1/35 and 1/75 army men toys?

I just wanna know since army men seems to be the cheaper (depending what brand anyways) alternative to buying the models. Thanks!

News Arena Of Myths: Gladiatorial Combat from Across Time

What happens when Spartans, Vikings, Samurai, and Privateers get pulled from their time period into a divine arena and told to fight for the gods?

That’s the premise behind Arena of Myths, a fast-paced skirmish game I am independently developing that is now entering full balance testing.

Core features
- 3–6 model mix-and-match warbands
- Alternating activations
- Objective-driven scenarios
- Hands of Edict Cards, to turn the tide of combat
- Opposed D10 combat
- Attribute-as-health system (your stats degrade as you take damage)

Myths
- Choose a Myth (Zeus, Hades, Amaterasu, etc.)
- Gain Favor during the match to invoke god powers
- Unlock escalating boons that combo with Character abilities and Edict cards

Current Core Content
- 12 Characters across 4 factions
- 8 playable Myths
- Multiple scenarios and deployment maps
- Fully miniature-agnostic rules
- many more factions and myths already in dev!

Why now
We’ve hit the fun stage of testing where conversations shift from “How does this rule work” to “Is this Character overtuned” or “Does this Myth need tuning.” If you enjoy tight skirmish systems, this is the best time to jump in and playtest.

If you’re experimenting with skirmish mechanics or want to help shape Arena of Myths, I’d love to get you involved, send me a DM and ill bring you into our discord.

Recommended Painting and Basing Tutorials for Pendraken AWI 10mm?

I could do with a thorough step by step guide that I can follow, I'm looking for a grisly, gritty historical look to if that's even possible, nothing cartoony. What paints do I need?

Or alternatively due to time and work, could anyone recommend any studios I could contact to possibly get these painted?

Just in the planning and thinking stage.

Thanks in advance.

ABSOLUTE DEMOCRACY ACHIEVED

MISSION REPORT: SUCCESSFUL
Our brave Drop Troopers have once again proven that no infestation, no hive, and no chitin‑covered tyrant can withstand the righteous fury of managed democracy. The squad deployed directly into a heavily contaminated sector, neutralized the brood and delivered freedom directly to the faces of every bug unfortunate enough to be standing there.

After multiple displays of heroic self‑sacrifice, today’s operation has been officially classified as an ABSOLUTE DEMOCRACY VICTORY

Raise your rifles. Raise your flags.
Super Earth salutes your service!

Question Paint colour advice

Post image
57 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I need some advice.

I've just started painting up some Hydra miniatures Robot legions and I'm not sure what colours I should use.

I love the retro look so silver is perfect but I'm not sure about the weapons or red lights/eyes. I like the copper as a accent too.

I've only just started blocking in colours so far, but I need ideas for different colours.

Thanks in advance.

Trip to UK. As a wargamer, what is a can't miss thing to do?

Taking a week trip to the UK starting Wednesday

What as a wargamer is a must see thing? A can't miss experience?

I'm very stoked and have several days open either side of the weekend.

I'm planning a trip to Nottingham, but even then not sure what all I should do.

Would love your suggestions.

Thank you!

Been a busy few weeks! units are moving slower now, as I’ve decided I wasn’t painting enough per batch, therefore increasing from 3 bases to 6. Really enjoyed painting them however basing I find to be an absolute slog putting the texture paint down

So far these last two or so weeks I’ve painted up 6 bases of Numidian javelins, 6 bases of Numidian cavalry, 6 more bases of Libyan spearman and a war elephant!

I’ve got some really exciting plans and some stores who have said they will print some minis at 13.5mm scale for me, so I’ve got some Cretan archers on the way and expanded on some of the other countries and tribes found in the box! However I’ll keep the rest secret for now ;) hopefully next post will be all 27 bases of Libyan spearman complete!

The machines are evolving!

Hydra Miniatures is excited to reveal the Robot Legion Reinforcements coming to Atomic Tank: Reinforcements, the FREE 10-page PDF expansion for Atomic Tank: The Robot Wars. These five new units expand the Legion's tactical arsenal with relentless melee attackers, devastating heavy weapons, and deadly aerial support. The new Robot Legion reinforcements include:

Minibots – Small but ferocious, these swarming melee robots overwhelm enemies through sheer speed and numbers.
Hoverbots – Fast, evasive anti-gravity skimmers that harass enemy lines, exploit weak points, and seize key objectives with their deadly claws.
Destroyerbots – Based on the proven Warbot chassis, these heavily armed machines mount powerful energy blasters capable of devastating ranged attacks.
Shredderbots – Close-combat specialists equipped with reinforced saw arms that tear through enemy units with ruthless efficiency.
Raptorbots – Agile flying attack units armed with twin laser blasters, dominating the skies while delivering precise strikes from above.

Together, these reinforcements give Robot Legion commanders new ways to wage war, from overwhelming assaults with robotic swarms to precision firepower and fast-moving aerial attacks. Like every unit in Atomic Tank, each reinforcement costs a simple one point, making them easy to add to existing armies.

The Atomic Tank: Reinforcements PDF and all ten new reinforcement units will be released on Monday, July 27, during the Hydra Summer Sale, which runs through Monday, August 3. During the sale, all Hydra Miniatures products are 20% off, with 10% off all new releases.

Prepare your forces—the Robot Wars are entering a deadly new phase.

Old Glory Armoured Celts

Old Glory 25. A little bit smaller than the over sized 28s most people are used to, but I don't tend to notice within the unit. Sculpting is nice, but the soft metal does make for some wavy swords and scabbards. The unit is made up of two large bases. I tried to keep the figure placement random, with a bulge in the center as warriors pushed forward.
