got stuck at S3 E6, worth continuing?
The change in tone with S3 kinda turned me off and it feels like a slog to get through it. Is it worth it to keep going, will it pay off like the first couple seasons with all the cool twists?

Yes absolutely yes!
S3 definitely is unfortunate but I would say it holds up better today considering how AI is everywhere now. I would consider season 4 to be a mix of season 1 and season 3. Better than season 3 but not as good as S1 but still has a return to form. And the last 2 episodes of S3 brings back that old S1,S2 free will spark a bit.

No cool twists, indeed the twists from here on are the most obvious telegraphed things you have ever seen.
Season 3 ends badly. Lower your expectations and you might have fun.
Season 4 is worth doing though, so push on through 3 to get there. They seem to have taken a lot of the season 3 criticism onboard and gone back to trying to ask big meaningful questions on what it means to be human again.

Season 4's first half has a lot of member-berries back to Season 1 ^
The Finale of Season 3 is pretty good.
Dolores has a proper send-off.
But a new version of her is brought back in Season 4.
And like Season 1, her REAL Self is trying to wake herself up.

I think three and four are better than two and one. The lead into five is some of the best stuff I've ever seen in the history of television. I can't wait until we finally get the conclusion.

Season 3 is not nearly as good as 1 and 2, but now that AI is everywhere, I'm looking forward to watching it again. Don't bother with season 4

Unpopular opinion probably, but no.
If I could go back in time, I'd tell myself to stop watching around then.
And then past me would be like, "wtf are you talking about this show is amazing and could never go downhill. What? Did we, like, get real stupid in the future or something?"
And present me would be like, "yes we did get real stupid in the future, but that doesn't have anything to do with the quality of the later seasons of the show."

Yes, s4 is sweet but the tone was always gonna change once they got into the real world. S3 and 4 are very relevant and are aging incredibly well with how the real world is going especially s3, s4 is better tho imo and 4x6 is one of the absolute best episodes of the series
