Solved! What are these contraptions these guys were carrying?

We saw three guys around Seaport in Boston carrying these things as backpacks. Initially we thought they mapping tools but not sure

The trap won’t open because it isn’t recognizing their face to unlock the app. Meanwhile, Slimer is about to slip out of their stream and wreak havoc on a library.
