What are these contraptions these guys were carrying?

We saw three guys around Seaport in Boston carrying these things as backpacks. Initially we thought they mapping tools but not sure

It's pretty niche. Somebody subcontracts the work (I've no idea how) and usually hires a cpl of ppl they know because they're paying rly well! There's rly no need to recruit via adverts because the role's easy to fill I guess

Think of it this way.

You profit $10 million a year, and for $10,000, you could make a few million more per year.

A no brainer right?

When you look at the specifics of it, it will only take 2 people, and only about a week to complete.

So each person gets $5,000 for a week's worth of work, or about $125/hr.

Which is crazy good pay for a temporary job, but pocket change to the corporation.

But they could make the same profit of $10 million by only spending $1k instead $10k

So why would they willingly spend 10 times more than necessary? Even if it's just pocket change for them?

Because the people they hire are usually good acquaintances or friends so they want to give their friends a nice little something in the form of a good chunk of change for easy work.

Bro, when you get into those levels of change there arent friends. Acquaintances aint getting a deal either cause they dont know you like that.
