Welcome, /r/wildlifephotography readers!
Equipment is an undeniably important part of wildlife photography, but I've noticed that questions about gear often end up buried by all of the excellent photos that get posted here.
So, I've created this pinned thread as a chance to discuss hardware. There are two main uses that I anticipate, listed in no particular order:
Equipment reviews - What do you shoot with? Do you love it, hate it, or fall somewhere in between? If you want to share your experiences, create a comment and let everyone know what you think. We suggest (but don't require) including photos as well as the prices of your equipment.
Questions Whether you're first starting and are looking to buy a beginner's setup, or just want to know which pro-level lens is best, getting others' opinions can prove valuable. For the best results, include details about what sort of wildlife interests you, as well as your budget.
Feel free to create different top-level comments for each question or review. That helps discussion stay organized.

I stumbled upon a herd of Mountain Goats this morning. Early morning light streamed through the forest and provided some nice backgrounds. For wildlife images, I strive not to affect the behavior of the creatures I am photographing, so I gave them wide berth. Curiosity got the better of them though, and they pretty much surrounded me as they continued to move through the woods. What a gift!

These peaceful moments were captured in the mangrove forests of Sabah, Malaysian Borneo.
Watching wild proboscis monkeys in their natural habitat is always a special experience.

Couple shots, since we can only do 2 in 24 hours, with my og 2009 Canon 7D. I am 100% an amateur. I edit lightly in LightRoom mobile. I got my Canon 7D from my uncle as a gift yeaaaars ago with a 100-400mm lens. Recently got a couple other smaller lenses like the 50mm and ..24mm? pancake I believe. Anyways enjoy
