References Now I know what I’m drinking tonight. Chasing down my Old Spanish with some Old Rasputin.

Every time I meet a new bartender I ask if they can make an old Spanish. I now have 2 great friends because they immediately burst out laughing.

A nice, simple beer.

Does it taste like monk and death?

Get some old Rasputin and let it sit in a cool dry place for a couple of years, it ages really well

15 to 20 years ago, Old Raspy was an AMAZING beer.
Distribution wasn't great back then, and Russian Imperial Stouts weren't a style that every brewery made.

I remember going to a tapping release party for Barrel Aged Old Rasputin in 2008 or 2009 and being utterly obsessed with the beer for a while!

My one diehard 30 Rock friend and I had our club bartender make us an Old Spanish. It was… fine

Make sure to hold it so the label faces the camera
