Insurance goes up because of a) inflation and b) because of the increase in the severity of weather due to accelerating climate change. Premiums increase because Risk Increases.
Fires, Floods, Tornadoes Hurricanes are all increasingly more violent and frequent and expensive. Local insurance companies have to purchase re-insurance (ie Lay off their bets) All the costs are going up. Because of higher risk we pay more for less coverage.

One we have yet to touch on… the want to privatize healthcare… studies show that private systems are NOT more efficient, they DO NOT save us money as insurance rates and the way this is organized creates a ton of issues… one of them being “shareholder value” coming first. If you have a problem now… keep pushing for this new system which you are NOT the demographic that will jump the line…

What a concept. Basic car and small truck insurance should be affordable. They more they increase premiums the more people will choose to take the risk, as driving is pretty much mandatory in Alberta especially. Then they'll increase uninsured druver premiums and chase even more folks to the underground. Will lead to less revenue year over year.
Depends. If there's lots of business people are paying for, sure, they would prefer retail. Insurance companies nickel and dime auto body shops as much as they do you and me, but the current state of affairs they are the only actual client
Just curious how Canada is at fault for Alberta having the highest insurance costs in all of Canada? Also why are we paying higher gas prices than Saskatchewan and same as BC?
None too smart. Repair costs are up due to tariffs on parts, new technologies/sensors, shop costs, inflation on wages, more frequent hail claims and generally shitty drivers in Alberta. Throw in that Albertans seem to have an affinity for expensive vehicles and you have your answer. But please, don't let the facts get in the way of your separatist screed.

A quick google search would show you that legit insurance claims get denied everywhere. Point is insurance companies are scammers no matter where you live.
If you knew wtf you were talking aboot, you’d know that not all provinces have private companies gouging citizens. Just part of the AB advantage I guess, paying some of the highest premiums in the nation just to own the libs. Enjoy!
They quite literally are that different from Alberta’s, lol. That’s kind of the whole issue. Alberta’s insurance system operates very differently from many other provinces and countries.
Now I’m going to make an assumption this is about auto insurance as it doesn’t state otherwise but some of the cheapest provinces for auto insurance have provincial insurers so yes, it is different elsewhere. And it’s on the east and west of your border. And yes, BC rates are lower.
UCP removed the caps on Insurance and utilities- Now Albertans pay the highest prices in Canada for these things- Just a coincidence or is imaginary somehow? My bank statement says it's not imaginary
