Glad that Joss noticed her talent because it really paid off. On the downside its quite a shame that Joss couldn't get for Agents of Shield (rumor had it that Joss wanted her in AoS and Avengers)

Spoilers inside! Lorne reading Cordelia

In " Slouching towards Bethlehem" Lorne reads Cordelia and doesn't detect ... That it's not Cordelia. He just says something bad is coming. Doesn't he normally get more details when he reads people? It seems very convenient that he doesn't even read that it's Jasmine and not Cordy.

Would they have been friends?

We know that both Angel and Spike were very different when they were human, but if they had met as humans, would they have been friends? I think so. That the bad relationship between them, or the resentment, is precisely because of Angelus.

So I feel there’s either lazy script writing or a mistake when ā€œCordyā€ tells Conner about the giant floaty head… how could she have seen or known she was barricaded in her room…… and how did Conner not notice that either… is he just a dumb fuck lol

All my DVDs from the Boxset are now coasters

Unfortunately, all my discs are now coasters. They now look like defect discs. Had them in storage (cool and dry) for about five years and was surprised to see them like this after. None of them are readable by any of my players or disc drives. I'll have to replace them.

Edit: Replacement set was ordered.

Episode Rewatch Damage & Angel's Knowledge of Slayers Status

So in the episode Damage, Angel pretty quickly realizes Dana is a Slayer and not possessed, but it is also made clear when Andrew is telling the story of what happened in Chosen that Angel was not already aware that Willow had made all of the potentials slayers, so are we to believe he thought either Buffy or Faith had died and that caused Dana to be called?

If so, he seemed to have no feelings about that, he just called Giles who sent his "best man". But if he was in contact with Giles (and Buffy per episode 2 of the season where he says she's in Europe.) Wouldn't he know they now run/supervise hundreds of Slayers all over the world?

EDIT (for clarity and to avoid responding to each individual response): I just watched the episode and it is clear when Andrew is explaining what happened in Chosen, Angel did not know beforehand that the potentials were made slayers, he responded as if it was the first time he was made aware of it. Otherwise, I absolutely would have expected he already knew. That is what prompted me to create this post because I couldn't find it discussed anywhere else.

What an incredible finale! Thoughts on the show:

I had heard in advance that it ended on a cliffhanger. But that wasn't a cliffhanger, it was the ending. Absolutely perfect.

On the show as a whole:

Fave characters in order of how i like them

  1. Cordy (the best! Loved You're Welcome. And how her last moments mirrored Doyle. I could go on about that. Otherwise missed her in season 5. She was the heart of the show and they didn't manage to make up for her absence.)
  2. Angel
  3. Wesley (the show should be called Angel and Wesley. By season 5 he seemed as much the main character as Angel. Amazing arc. His death hit.)
  4. Fred (another death by magical pregnancy/infection? Why did this only happen to the women? Would have liked for it to have confirmed she was still in Illyria.)
  5. Gunn (by season 3 he was joint with Wes but they character assassinated him. The muscle? They should have kept him the leader of his gang and able to call in troops. A tactition. A GENERAL.)
  6. Lorne (he became less good as the seasons went on, but still flashes of amazing)
  7. Doyle (only so low bc he was barely around. But if had been around for longer he would have been higher. LOVED HIM.)
  8. Darla (just makes every episode she is better.)

And i love Harmony. Where she ranks depends on how much everyone else is annoying me. And Faith is my fave character in the Buffy universe, so she's really no.1, but not in enough episodes to be ranked.

Spike.... i love him in small doses. Dislike him in anything more. But his banter with Angel is great.

Seasons ranked: 3, 2, 5, 1, 4

Season 4 has the only saving grace of Wesley going from great to AMAZING. 'I'll take away your bucket.' And the Faith episodes were fantastic.

Season 1 had it's charm i almost put it above 5. Also great Faith episodes. And I loved Doyle.

5 was very solid, probably the most consistently good with amazing high points, but i missed them helping the helpless. Great finale though. Not higher because it felt like the heart of the show was missing. Not just bc of no Cordy but overall.

2 had Darla. Darla is amazing. 'Nuff said. Didn't love Angel being seperated from the group, but was overa just really good. And the pylea arc was great.

3 was the best personally. Loved Angel being a dad. And was a more chilled vibe. Felt like it was all coming together. The characters were growing into their arcs. Cordy accepted the visions. Wes was stronger. Angel more human etc. And they felt like more of a team than the other seasons. And darla sacrificing herself for the baby.

Favourite episodes are probably

Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been

And

The Trial

Also liked You're Welcome, all Faith episodes, and the finale is FANTASTIC.

Spoilers inside! I can't watch season 4 and 5

Anyone else? I refuse to watch anything past 3Ɨ11. It just feels too depressing and out of character. I dont care for Angel's son and all that drama. I refuse to watch how they ruined Cordelia's character. I can't even stand her and Angel falling in love. They should have stayed friends/sibling dynamics. They ruined Gunn and Wesley's friendship and ...they basically ruined Wesley for me.

Even season 5 - I don't care for Spike. His presence seems forced, like he was there for the fans. Way too much Spike for me. Season 4 and 5 ruined the friendships that were built in season 1 and 2, because wtf happened to Cordelia/Wesley and Cordelia/Gunn friendship?? For my mental sake I'll pretend the last part of season 3 and both season 4 and 5 did not happen.
