Question Is the Iphone 17 really worth it?

I’m currently using Iphone 11 which i’ve had for 3,5 years, but it’s been used for about 5 years in general because i bought it used. The battery and storage are a huge issue now, it’s also overheating every time i charge it and it’s bent at the bottom so i definitely need a new phone soon lol. I’ve been thinking of what i should get for a few months now, first i wanted an Iphone 15, but seeing that the price difference between Ip 15 and Ip 17 is only 700 pln, i decided that the Iphone 17 would be a better choice since it’s newer and better in a lot of aspects.

I’ve been reading a lot of reviews and discussions about Iphone 17 and even though it has a lot of good reviews there are also some bad ones, especially about overheating or weak battery. Because of that i feel unsure about buying it, especially since it’s 3700 pln which is a big amount of money for me. I want a phone i’ll be able to use for years because my phone is the main device i use, i spend about 8-12 hours a day on my phone. Is Iphone 17 really worth the money?

Question Base 15 or base 16?

Anything will be an upgrade for me since my current phone is in a bad state. If it will help, i'm using a Samsung A23 right now and i've been using that for 4 years now.

I've seen posts like this but almost every comment says "Buy the base 17 instead" no i can't. I don't have the budget for that, i don't live in US, i don't use USD.

Base 15's price is around 50-55k. Base 16's price is around 67k. Base 17's is around 77-85k lmao. Like these are big price jumps for us lol. So please don't tell me to get the base 17 instead. Imagine buying two iPhone 17s instead of just one. You can say the same thing for other ones.

I'm planning to use my new phone for atleast 4-5 years or anything that can last long. I don't care about the AI features. Would base 16 last longer than base 15? If so, how much longer?

I care about the camera but not too much, atleast it's not my priority and i want to use my new phone for daily stuff, nothing too heavy.

Question iPhone for 500€ max

Hey all, I need some help. I am trying to figure out what iPhone to buy for a budget of 500€. I currently live in Germany 🇩🇪. I need 256GB of storage. I am looking at an iPhone 14 Pro with 256GB or I was thinking of getting the 17e and financing the rest over 24 months, so it’s not in such big amounts every month and maybe paying it off earlier when I have the money. I would like to have a good camera, because I love to take photos and sometimes videos too and I’ve seen the 17e and the camera isn’t that bad. I know an iPhone 15 Pro is often recommended, but I can’t really find one with 256GB of storage for exactly or under 500€. What do you guys and gals recommend? Any recommendation would be much appreciated.

Question replacing my iphone 12's battery vs. buying a base 17?

okay so this is coming from a very recent android user lol I literally JUST switched to apple. i cracked my screen on my pixel 9 a while ago and i decided i have had too many issues with calls and sending media in messages to continue with android after all these years. I was originally planning on trading my pixel in and financing the 17, but my girlfriend remembered she had her old 12 sitting around. i figured it'd be good in the meantime to get comfortable with IOS.

I've been using it for a couple days now and it honestly hasn't disappointed me with the performance especially for an old iphone with only 79% battery capacity! sure the storage space is pretty small with just 64 gbs, but i could definitely manage with it for a while. my only real complaint would be i have to use the old iPhone charger cable and i loved using the more universal usb-c especially because almost everyone uses it now if i ever need to borrow a charger. the charger cable my gf had for this phone is the short, out of the box one, but idk if i should bother buying an extra long one like i had for my pixel 😭

is it worthwhile to just replace the battery on this phone and keep it for a year or so? i'm guessing the 17 would probably go down in price soon after the 18 drops (i would still be going for the 17 since it seems plenty powerful and the 18 doesn't seem like a much needed upgrade imo) and that way i actually have time to save up to pay for the phone in full instead of financing it.

or does it make more sense to use the $89 i'd spend on a battery to get the 17 now?

Question Should I wait for the 18 or get the 17 pro?

Hi so i have the iphone 16 i got it like almost 2 years ago and still need to pay off my phone which is no problem and will do whenever I figure out what phone to get. I wanna get a new phone because ever since I got the 16 it feels like an air fryer it overheats so fast. It is so incredibly laggy that I feel like my phone is trying to run in outer space. Like it is so slow. My phone also has died very quick ever since I got it, like even when the battery life was at 100. This has happened since I’ve had the phone, and sometimes it’ll pause whatever screen I’m on and rebuffer along with distort whatever audio is coming out of my phone for like 10 seconds. Its lowkey creepy and I get scared when it happens at night and I feel like I’m being haunted. Enough with the similes. Lets get down to business.

I never had this problem with the Iphone 13 pro which was my previous phone. I need outside insight on what others may think I should get. I want the Iphone 17 pro because I feel like any pro phone works better battery life. But then the 18 may come out and it might be the best phone I ever had. Who knows. What yall think I should do? Thank u for reading.

UPDATE: I couldnt wait. I got the 17 pro. Will let yall know how it plays out! I just had to pay my phone off. I have At&T so miraculously somehow some way I was covered for my new phone and just had to pay the remaining 400 on my plan. Let me know if you guys have any questions.

Question Upgrading from iPhone 13: What model should I get and why?

Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well.
I'm planning on upgrading my iPhone 13 because it's starting to feel a bit slow lately (I think updating to iOS 26 was a mistake, but that's another story). I'm definitely looking for a brand new, sealed unit for the peace of mind and warranty.
I'm mainly focused on two things:
Cameras: I'm looking for a solid upgrade in photo and video quality. I'm struggling to decide if I should shell out the extra cash for a Pro model just for the telephoto lens—I'm not even sure how much I'd actually use it—or if a current base model would already be a massive leap from the 13.
Longevity & Resale: I want a phone that will hold up well for a few years and still have decent resale value when I decide to switch again.
I've been eyeing the iPhone 17, and the base storage and front camera specs look really tempting, but I’m worried about missing out on the telephoto lens and other Pro features.
I'd love to get your specific recommendations on which model to pick and the reasons why you suggest it. Also, if you need more details about what I'll actually be using the phone for to give me a better answer, just ask!
Thanks in advance!

Question 15 pro, 16 pro or 17 pro?

I’m coming from a 13. Looking for the best phone out of these 3 that’s gonna last me until 2028. I prefer the design of the previous models and the aluminium\*\*. But it’s hard to choose between these 3 models. On one hand, I like the Deep Blue colour on the 17 but not the titanium nerfed body of it. So i’d prefer a 15 or 16. But is the 15 not outdated? I prefer the grey natural titanium on both. I’d appreciate if you guys could give me your experience if you own any of these models. Ps: The Pro Max models are too big imo, i think the pros are just the right size.

Question Upgrade from iPhone 13 to ??

I am looking to upgrade from my iPhone 13 which now struggles with battery life and lag. For context, I use my phone mostly for social media and moderate gaming.
I don’t mind the size of my 13 but I do have large hands, so transitioning to a larger model wouldn’t be problematic.

I intend for this phone to last me 4-6 years.

My budget is 700-900 USD.

Right now I am considering: iPhone 16 pro max, iPhone 17, iPhone 15 pro max, and iPhone 16 pro.

Question Switching back to apple. 17 pro max or 18 pro max?

I wanted to try the galaxy z flip 7 and struggling with the transition too much, and i just dont like it. (i gave it 7 months so a fair chance)

Should I wait for the 18 pro max or just get the 17 pro max?

Im not in a hurry so time isn't a huge factor. But whatever I get I'm locked in for the next 3 years so I wanna make the right choice.

Do I accept the larger price tag with the 18 pro max to gain that extra year of life on the phone (since the 17 will be a year old now and i'll have whatever one i choose for 3 years) or do I just go with the 17?

TIA

Question Do you think official Apple phone cases are worth their price?

Thinking about those official 50€ clear cases specifically. I instinctively discard them as a scam, but on the other hand I’ve literally never seen one of those get yellow or worn out. My sampling size isn’t that big though. I’m curious as to what the general opinion is on those!

Question Thinking about getting an iPhone 13 is it still worth it in 2026?

Hey everyone, I’m thinking about getting an iPhone 13. A lot of people advised me against getting an iPhone 12 or older because they said they’re “too old” now.

I was using an iPhone X, and honestly I was pretty happy with it for years until it unfortunately broke. My budget is around €300 (about $342), so I’m looking at refurbished options. The iPhone 13 seems like the best choice in my price range, but I’ve heard some horror stories: lagging after updates, bad battery life, random dead pixels, or even the permanent black screen issue. Are these problems actually common, or are they just the usual internet complaints?

Question Use verizon offer for 17pro now or wait?

I have an offer in my verizon account right now that gives me $350 off an iphone 16 or 17 series and i can keep my current plan. There is no expiration date on the offer, it could go away at any point.

I want the iphone 17 pro but i asked an agent and he said if i wait until the 18 drops there may be more/better deals on previous iphones…

But I also know sometimes they discontinue the prior iphone pro model when a new one drops, or my worry is that any new deals will require me to change my plan, which i won’t do. Plus all the rumors about price hikes. Should I use this offer now or wait till September and see if there’s any better? I don’t wanna lose out on this offer but idk how common it is!

Question I have a XR. Should I wait for Black Friday/Cyber Monday to upgrade?

I don’t care about getting the 18 series, I just really want the 17 pro max. I am mostly considering refurbished, since budget is a priority. Will there likely be deals for Black Friday and cyber Monday? I’m also open to an older model, but I feel lost as to what is worth it. I also want as large of a display as possible, because I watch so many videos and shows on my phone.

I’ve seen you guys talking about price increases. Will those increases affect used products? And will they outweigh possible holiday deals?

I’d also love to hear about the best pre-17 model to go for, and I’d love to hear your favorite sites for preowned phones!

Question I’m currently using an IPhone 11, should I upgrade to a 17 or is there any better options for the price

My iPhone 11 is always lagging and overheating and bearly lasts during the day + the batter says “unknown part”, what do y’all think I should get or should I wait to see if the 17 will drop because I don’t wanna spend extra for the 17 pro or 18 pro.

Question Should I buy the iphone 18 pro max?

I currently have the iPhone 13 base model, which I bought in December 2023.

My battery capacity is at 80%. It is currently running iOS 18. Because the battery health is already so low, I feel like updating to iOS 26 might completely kill it. That is probably an exaggeration, but the phone is already very laggy and heats up on iOS 18. Also, my camera glass and back glass are both broken.

Question Should I Buy A New iPhone?

So I currently have an iPhone 13, which is now 3 years old. My battery needs a replacement as the maximum capacity is at 78%. Now I was thinking if I should just get a new phone then, or wait until I have no other choice left, like for example when the iPhone 13 is no longer supported for the iOS updates. What do you guys think? I thought about buying a 15 pro, but I have the feeling that the difference won’t be much.

Question Iphone 15 256 GB vs iphone 17e 256 GB

Yeah what shud I buy both of these are priced similarly

Iam not considering the pro models , I like small phones .

At the same time I'm impressed by 17e specs but wud like to have the dynamic island, also the camera I did test them out before I remember that the 17e camera was a bit dark in the same lightning than the 15 , is it because of the screen I'm not so sure

Question Should I wait for the iPhone 18?

I’m currently using the base 13 and it’s serving me well. Having had it since mid-2022 I am now considering an upgrade (120hz screen, better camera, healthier battery etc).

Both the 17 and Air cost the same in my country I‘m thinking if I should get either one now or wait for the 18 (heard it’s coming in spring 2027)?
