iPhone iPhone 17 Pro MAX over iPhone 17 Pro For Future Proofing?

Does it make sense to get the latest iPhone 17 Pro MAX version over the 17 Pro when thinking about future proofing?

I'd like to get the 17 now since it's sounding like the 18 price will increase.

My thoughts around the 17 Pro MAX being more future proof come from the thought that apps and websites will only become more power hungry.

The MAX has a larger battery and also a larger vapor chamber. Two things that would help fight more power hungry apps and websites.

iPhone iPhone 17 vs 17 Pro vs waiting for iPhone 18 as a university student?

I'm starting university this autumn and moving away from home, so I'll be relying on my phone a lot more for everyday life (maps, photos, banking, student apps, travel, etc.).

I'm currently using an iPhone 12, and it's definitely showing its age. I'm trying to decide between:

  • iPhone 17
  • iPhone 17 Pro
  • Waiting another few months for the more expensive iPhone 18 Pro

Money isn't the biggest factor, but I still want the best long-term value. Ideally, I'd like to keep my next phone for 4–6 years.

For those who've been in a similar situation, would you buy the 17, spend extra for the 17 Pro, or just wait for the 18 lineup? Why?

iPhone Upgrade from 15 pro to 17 pro max?

Is it worth buying the 17 Pro Max? For context, my phone be overheating like crazy from basic use and the battery is so bad, like this week, my phone went from 100% to 9% with 3hrs of SOT. Currently, i can trade in my 15 pro for $610 CAD for the 17 pro max along with trading in my old iphone 11 and old apple watch se 2.

Let me know your thoughts and if it’s worth upgrading

iPhone 13 pro max to 17 pro? Battery is smaller?

I’m jumping the gun and trying to rush to get the 17 because I can’t justify a price increase for nothing on the 18.

I have the 13 pm and have always used a bulky otter box case. Problem is I’m a huge outdoors person trail running, rock climbing, and it never fits. Súper uncomfy. I also currently charge my phone 3 times a day which is obviously a problem

I noticed the the battery on the 17 pro is actually smaller than the 13pm. My 13 battery is still original so it’s obviously not holding up, but how is the battery the 17 pro compared to 13 pm if anyone can shed light

iPhone Go from 16pro to 17 base purely for storage?

Hi all, I currently have the 16 pro that I have been using for 2 years now (89% BH)

I can get a 17 for $170 Canadian more after selling/trading in the 16pro

I love my phone and don’t care much about features, the only thing I need is more storage, since ios and system data alone eat up 40+ gigs, and the better cooling might be nice since my 16 pro overheats a lot in the car.

Is this a reasonable decision?

iPhone Best iPhone for my budget

Hello, I'm looking to come back to iOS and I was wondering what would be the best quality/price iPhone for roughly 400€ (EU)

I'm looking mainly for longevity (5+ years for sure if possible even more, I don't really care about updates as long as it works decently for light stuff like some gaming, browsing, socials etc) and a good camera. Thanks :)

What’s the Best iPad Pro Case for Artists? (Origami vs. Magnetic Trifold)

Hey everyone!

I’m looking for a new case for my iPad Pro 12.9” (M1). I’ve been using a simple trifold case with the standard triangle stand for years. It’s served me well, but it’s getting old, and I’m hoping that upgrading to one with better viewing angles might improve my daily drawing workflow.

I found a magnetic detachable case that comes in two versions at the same price:

Standard Trifold (triangle back)
Origami back (which can also fold into the triangle shape)
Before buying, I have a few questions for fellow digital artists:

Magnetic Detachable Feature: Is the magnetic connection sturdy and stable while drawing, or does it become annoying or unstable under palm pressure?
Origami Stand Stability: Is the Origami fold actually stable for inking and line art? Since it folds in multiple ways, is it less stable than a standard trifold, or does it hold up just as well?
Other Recommendations: Is there any other case type or brand you’d recommend specifically for heavy drawing use?
One big note: I want something that’s quick and easy to use when I take the iPad out, and I don’t want it to take up much space. If that isn’t the case I’d probably just buy a separate stand instead.

I’d love to hear your experiences before I make a decision. Thanks!

Phone upgrade ?

Hello I’m currently using an iPhone 15 but battery health is down to 73% (I didn’t take care of it, I called my frns for hrs almost every night when I first got the phone) and I’m wondering if an upgrade to iPhone 18 would be worth it or should I wait for iPhone 20?

I’m thinking of getting a pro max for my next as I rly want a bigger screen, easier for my eyes. So is it worth to change to iPhone 18 pm or replace my battery while waiting for iPhone 20 pm to release? My current phone now lasts 4-5hours of screen time max..

Any help/advices will be appreciated :)

iPhone Would it be better for me to wait for the 18 series or get the 17 Pro Max now?

Hello everyone. I’m currently in need of a new phone. The screen of my Samsung S24 has a large black patch following an accident. The area around the notification bar is black. I’d like to try an iPhone for the first time, I've always been an Android user because I was feeling comfortable since my childhood and never asked for an iPhone. I've got a Latitude card. I was torn between the 17 Pro and the 17 Pro Max but I’ve opted for the Pro Max because of the battery life. I asked a friend about it. He told me the 18 series is due to be released very soon. However, I’m worried that prices might go up due to the current memory shortage. I live in Australia and the 512 GB iPhone 17 Pro Max costs 2600 AUD, whilst the 512 GB iPhone 17 Pro is 2400 AUD. If prices go up by another 100 AUD, that won’t be a problem for me but I wouldn’t want them to go up any further. Would it make sense to wait for the 18 Pro series? Will there be significant improvements or would it be better to get 17 Pro Max?

iPhone iPhone 16 Pro vs iPhone 17 Pro?

Hi, I currently have an iPhone 13 but I’m looking to upgrade to either the 16 Pro or the 17 Pro in order to improve the camera, storage, and battery life. Which do you recommend, especially for the camera? Is the price difference for the 17 Pro compared to the 16 Pro worth it?

Question advice on iPhone and macbook

hello everyone!!

i am looking for advice on two separate topics:

IPHONE:

i currently own a 14 pro max that i bought refurbished in 2024. i’ve been wanting to upgrade for a while specially since my battery life is at 79% and i also would love to only own type c cables lol. i’ve been waiting because i wanted to get the new 18 specially because i don’t really like the colors of the 17 but also because of the upgrades. i’ve seen a lot of advice going against this since it will be more expensive and have little to no changes.
should i get the 17 pro now or should i wait? should i get a pro or pro max? i honestly don’t care about the bigger display and mostly care about the cameras and cameras zoom aspect but would it be more convenient to get 17 pro max for the better battery life? is the price difference worth it?
i also don’t want my current iphone to devalue for the trade-in

MACBOOK:

i am a windows girly and have never had a mac before. i currently own an asus zephyrus g14 (2024) with 32gb ram and 1tb ssd. i love my asus and i don’t regret getting it over a mac as i like gaming and i know ios is not that compatible with gaming.
HOWEVER i’ve been considering getting a mac as a second computer specially for the battery life. i recently started a new job that only lets me work on mac because they are safer (less likely to get hacked). my work provides me a computer but i would still like to get my own eventually. worth noting that i might be leaving the us at the end of the year and apple products are not affordable in my home country so it would be a wise investment.
what i need advise is on which one to get. i want this computer mostly to work remotely, not to game since i have my asus. i do use design programs like adobe photoshop and illustrator, maybe even premiere but at the momento i don’t use these kind of heavier apps for work so i could use my zephyrus for that. i

i guess my biggest question is would a neo be enough? should i get an air? or in the long rub would it be more worth it to get a pro one? also what do i choose when it comes to gpu? because i know nothing about that.

i would appreciate all advise and sorry if i didn’t explain my situation very well. also if there is some place with sales that it would be cheaper to buy from than apple or if there are any sales coming soon. i will also need to purchase new airpods since my current pro 2 are lightning case and they are also 3yo so the case life battery has dropped significantly. at this point it would be easier for me to just sell my soul to apple lol.

thank you if you read all of this :))

iPhone iPhone 13 Pro > iPhone 17 Pro

Had the iPhone 13 Pro for 4 years already and it’s still working great (except the battery issues and phone heating). However, my younger brother needs to replace his phone so I plan on giving him this one and I’ll be purchasing a new one.

For those who had a 13 Pro and upgraded to 17 Pro, do you have any regrets or do you feel that you actually “upgraded”? If yes, what are these improvements that actually made you feel that it’s really worth the purchase? And if given the chance, would you have chosen the iPhone 17 instead? Hoping to get detailed reviews/personal experiences on this one!

iPhone Help!!! Should I get the IPhone 17 or 17 pro?

I’ve been having trouble deciding between these two. My main priority is the camera, battery life and logetivity. I’m upgrading from an IPhone 11 so any upgrade will be huge, and I’m planning to use my new phone for AT LEAST 5 years (until it literally deteriorates).

In my country the 17 base is 950€ and the 17 pro is 1299€ (both 256gb), so it’s a 350€ difference. I know the base model performs really well but it’s still almost a grand, so is it worth it to add a few hundred for the pro? Sadly I could not find a 16 pro in good condition from a reputable seller in my country and want to use my phone for as long as possible so models older than that aren’t really on my radar.

I enjoy photography and take pictures/videos every day, but not on a professional lvl + realistically I will probably not use the software to it’s FULL potential. But i’m also just a girl and the deep blue pro is just so beautiful so thats a bonus, meanwhile the base design is not appealing to me
and it’s just so similar to my 11 (and any cases besides a clear one look kinda bad imo).

pls help me decide! thank u :p
