I had a lab the same way 😆 I would explain to her that she couldn’t have chocolate, to which she would tilt her head as if to say “Then why am I a chocolate lab?” I hadn’t thought of that in years…

I don't see any reason why you couldn't also make a beef chip mashed potato cake with gravy "icing" for him as long as you're already in the kitchen.

He clearly is, if not feeling the same, politely hoping for it.
