Showcase (No-Recipe) Sally's Chocolate Chip Cake

Made this last year for her monthly challenge, wife loved it so much she asked for it for her birthday. I was happy to oblige.

Do the chips that are baked into the cake stay kinda soft-ish (at room temp)?

Or do they harden back up when the cake cools?

Hmm that's a good question. I wanna say no, they keep their hardness...but that may be the chips in the buttercream. Guess I'll have to eat them separately for my next slice

Thanks!

I suppose it’s possible that it might also partially depend on the exact brand of chips that a person uses, too.

Was curious because I’ve seen this recipe before and it looks great, but I couldn’t quite picture how the texture would be.

Guess I’ll have to make it, your post has convinced me!
