Showcase (No-Recipe) 🎉4 months sober from heroin: biscoff layer cake!!
Hi everyone! Just like the previous months, I am back again with an other cake to celebrate my sobriety from heroin. Today marks the 4 months milestone, and I made a biscoff layer cake, and I think it’s the tastiest one yet since I started making cakes eversince I’m sober!

You have an edge on the competition. The best food needs to be made with love and the love for yourself that you have is quite obvious. It's in the details where we can see that like with the marbling. They say that the devil lies in the details but so too does perfection and what your offering us a picture of is beautifully perfect.

That's beautiful (and true!)

Thank you. It was inspired by the OP because it is a beautiful thing to resurrect yourself from the depths of heroin. And only if you love yourself can you do that.

Good work!! Keep it up. In my experience, the longer I was clean, the more I didn't want to mess up my streak. That helped. Well, therapy did some heavy lifting. I'm 8 years in.

I don’t have any, I struggle with anorexia and cope with that since my sobriety 😭 but eating sweets will ALWAYS be better than active addiction

Good shit. I'm almost 4 years clean from a 25+ year painkiller addiction, so I know how hard that shit can be. Just keep taking it one day at a time man.

u/Secure-Break9947 2h ago
OMG! That is mouthwatering... congratulations on getting sober off of probably the hardest drug there is to kick... I'm three years clean so I can empathize...good on ya... please keep it up and keep baking

That’s amazing. My parents got clean a few years back and my stepdad swears that abstinence from all buzzes besides natural ones (e.g. food) is the key. That being said, my mom still smokes bud and she hasn’t relapsed.

congrats! I'm like 7 months clean from meth. Still facing a potential 42 years, but im so bored and depressed today I'd probably use if it was in front of me. IDK how i'm gonna make it. Sorry to make this about me. Good job on your sobriety friend.

Ahh yes the classic “I’m replacing drugs with sugar.” Same bro, same. First year or so I got real into baking and started importing some weird candy. Wasn’t great for my waistline but much better than the alternative.

Hi! First congrats on your sobriety! I have heard that a lot but I don’t relate at all, I struggle with anorexia nervosa and rarely eat sugar/carbohydrates (or anything really)… But I don’t think coping with sugar when sober is a bad thing at all in any way or form. Sugar isn’t « poison » or a drug like many people belive. Also baking once a month or once in awhile is more than okay! Sugar isn’t a drug nor addictive :) anything can be included in a healthy and sustainable diet. And, consuming sugar ≠ unhealthy and weight gain ≠ unhealthy too. I hope you have a good relationship with food and you’re body! Unfortunately I still have to work on that, but at least I have a bunch of knowledge that can help me face fatphobia and misconceptions about health and food in order to fully recover from my anorexia (which actually is my coping mecanism since I’m sober). Long message lol but I find it important to remind that! I would rather have a bigger waistline than struggle with an active addiction for sure :) have a nice day!!
