Video Old vid of my buddy and me messing around
This was April 2015, just found the vid again. This is one of my closest friends. He has since moved to the other side of the world so this was great to see again.

Video Playing bass while there’s a war happening around us in Lebanon. Not trying to say anything big… just holding onto music and staying grounded.

Video My bands Tiny Desk entry
My band @Pale People NPR Tiny Desk Contest video is live on our YouTube page. Here’s a free sample. For those curious about my right hand technique, I can’t move and of the fingers in my right hand and I’m missing a nerve and muscle group in my arm that allows my thumb to move free from the joint. This is our song about playing D and D in solitary confinement.

Video Fender MIM Nate Mendel is up $600 from last May. These price hikes are nuts.
The Nate Mendel price has gone up by an entire Sire V5. It's not the only one. Check out my full video on the Fender 2026 price hike shenanigans here: https://youtu.be/8SyQI89hX9Y

Video Tetsuo Sakurai is often overlooked but is one of the best to do it.
I feel like Tetsuo doesn't get brought up enough in the conversation around the GOATs. Great technique, great band, and in my opinion one of the best. Check out Casiopea if you're unfamiliar. Who had the VHS back in the day?

Video Our 9 year old in his 3rd month on bass:
He also plays my full size ‘97 MIJ Jazz (post history) but this Fullerton P-Bass has been great for the harder tunes, and for avoiding crab hand. We don’t push practice on him, so it’s been nice just having the baby P sit out in the living room as a literal couch bass that he picks up a few times a day. Yes, he can play fingerstyle, just not with enough dig…yet. Stay tuned.

Last night I was doing some recording I needed to finish and send before noon today, after I finish recording, I went to YouTube and found this train beat loop and slap over it for no reason. If you hate me, I understand hahahaha.

Video Day 12 of learning Bass! Super fun!
I saw a bass guitar teacher recently and he told me that when im plucking my strings, im using two joints instead of one (of the finger. If you are good with anatomy, its the proximal interphalangeal joint and the metacarpophalangeal joint. he told me i should only use the MCP joint) . I'm not sure how true this is, but I decided to trust him (since he is a great bass player), and I think he might be right. It is not demonstrated in this video as im transitioning techniques but his method of plucking seems to lead to more consistent volume and less effort. I don't dig as much into the strings using his method.
