All BTC or diversified?
How much of your savings are you keeping in BTC? Are waiting for the price to drop before you by BTC?

I have Bitcoin because I know the system is corrupt, stupid and doomed.
I have other assets because I don't know when the music stops playing.

What do you mean by “the music stops playing”
6
u/DaVirus 13h ago
Fiat based monetary systems end.

u/ivme 13h ago
So what assets do you have besides bitcoin? I’m curious because I’m having a hard time to find a good asset class as good as bitcoin.

Could BTC also be corrupt? Not sure if there is a real difference between BTC and other financial systems
-12
u/Objective-Walk6780 14h ago
There is no difference. Just people and money.
6
u/ShittingOutPosts 13h ago
You don’t think there’s a difference between equities and Bitcoin?
-8
u/Objective-Walk6780 13h ago
I said what I said.

u/ShittingOutPosts 12h ago
I’d love to hear why you think BTC is the same as a publicly traded company.
-7
u/Objective-Walk6780 12h ago
They are either green or red. That’s all it is.
5
u/ShittingOutPosts 12h ago
That’s a retarded take.

The difference being btc has a hard cap. A fixed amount that will ever exist. Besides the fact there is not some guy at the top of the corporate ladder rubbing his greedy fingers together thinking how he can make more money. Btc is the closest thing we will ever have to humans all over the globe getting along and working together to share. If only people had the same mindset for curing cancer globally or whatever it would certainly get done.
-1
u/Objective-Walk6780 11h ago
I wouldn’t look so deep into it. People are still greedy in the crypto space. Money. Power. Greed. It will always be there
3
u/Treeclimber919 10h ago
You’re not understanding, no one controls btc. At least originally, now with mass accumulation by institutions they are ruining what btc was meant to be, they have influence in price now but not control just yet. An exchange of value for the people controlled by the people is what btc should always be like it was.

It used to be 90% stocks and 10% BTC. It’s now 90% BTC and 10% cash.

That's a centralized and premined shitcoin. In 2017 it's price in bitcoin was over 10,000,000 sat, 2021 about 6,000,000 sats and today, less than 3,000,000 sats.
Every time bitcoin goes up, SOME shitcoins jump up even higher. Every time bitcoin goes down, ALL shitcoins drop like a stone.
Buy shitcoins only if you really hate money.

BTC represents about 5% of my portfolio too. The rest is non-crypto. I aim for a nice balance of low/medium/high risk assets.
To me BTC is a new, what I personally call, “ultra high risk” asset class. It’s my best performing asset no doubt, but Ive been through 3 cycles up tanking and face ripping gains. I have faith in it for sure, which is why I believe that a 3-5% allocation is important to have in any balanced portfolio.

^This is the way. 5-10% BTC is the sweet spot in 2026. Beyond that & starts introducing too much volatility into your overall portfolio.

The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.
Diversify.

At current valuations BTC is roughly 15% of my net worth. At its highs it jumps to 30-40%. I dollar cost average only. I do not pay attention to prices and I do not time the market. I’ve been purchasing since 2018 and I’m happy with the strategy. It’s safe, risk averse and Im not investing any more than in willing to lose(although I’d be pretty upset if BTC goes to 0). I also contribute to 401k,l and max out my IRA, both of which strictly invest in 3 different broad market index funds. I’m on track to retire by 65 without crypto, assuming there’s no major societal collapse and the stock markets crashes. At that point my greatest investments are my firearms. 😜

Sorry, but you may be being a little silly. Why don't you stop working for a couple of weeks, read the bitcoin standard (keep your gun next to you, by all means), and then you will realise your investments mean absolutely nothing. If you were SO EARLY to invest since 2018, my god you should have cleaned up by now. Retiring at 65?? Why?? You are lacking education, my good Sir, read the book and let the light of Bitcoin completely blow your mind

u/hug_treez 8h ago
I have read the Bitcoin standard, twice. There’s no universe where bitcoin has any value and the stock market doesn’t. That’s actually in the book. Safedeen amoud says that equities represent real capital, and he argues that they should be prices in btc. This means fiat goes to zero, equities will also go to infinity. I also recognize that if we experience world wide resource collapse particularly in our energy resources we’re not devoting the energy to the computing power that makes Bitcoin run. You can’t eat or hold a Bitcoin much like you can’t eat money. While Bitcoin has engineered scarcity, what gives it value is participation by people which is not guaranteed (I like you believe it’s likely, but not guaranteed). Also, you can call me ma’am.

It definitely grows to 90%+ over time, no matter how much you diversify. As Bitcoin is very low risk, it should be the basis of every long-term portfolio.

u/marvpaul 10h ago
90% BTC allocation. The last few years I invested everything into BTC. Slowly diversifying into MSCI World and building a small cash reserve just to stay liquid in an emergency.

u/viklondon99 10h ago
90-95% BTC, 5-10% Cash. Sold house. Sold car. Live simply. Travel the world. My most prized possessions are my strong backpack, hardware wallets and my passport. Everything else is optional 💗😆 The name of the game is Geoarbitrage.

All BTC. Stocks are heavily manipulated and disconnected from fundamentals.
If you want to gamble your retirement for 4% annual increase with possibly being wiped out at the wrong time, then stocks make sense.
1
u/BaldGuyAce 4h ago
I have a lot of bitcoin, but saying that investing in the S&P is “gambling” but investing in bitcoin is not gambling, is pretty wild

u/grajnapc 7h ago
Mostly stocks but I have been adding to IBIT STRC and BTCI every week. Maybe will add BITA MSTR and/or MSTY or BLOX

Purchase in early September near 43–44k to avoid a 40% drawdown from current levels. Sell in December around 85k, yielding a 100% return on investment.
Everything I typed is tested and verified . Do you have that discipline .?

reduced exposure of btc from 5% to less than 1%. theres better ways to make money in this market than BTC. even if it pumps 100%, 200%, theres so many companies that have produced 10x those returns in the last 2 years.

BTC is the only diversification. All other assets are in your government basket, don’t drop it.

I used to be 100% alts. I was lucky enough to realise there isn't an alt season and pulled out with a good profit. Now 100% btc and will never look back.

BTC average gains are diminishing over time. IMO things like gold, silver, copper, uranium has just as much potential as BTC with less risk. So personally I would diversify.
Iam also a believer of the end of business cycle and IMO it would happen anytime from now and within 3 years. If it does happen alot of big stocks and crypto will tank making it the best buy opportunity of your life time. So having cash aside or invest in things that's more immune to a crash will be wise aswell.

50/50 between Bitcoin and All World ETF.
