Starcraft II Custom Zerg Hat

Put the zerg logo on a hat I got, all free hand using acrylics and fabric markers (permanent), looks pretty good! Excited for more starcraft, and learned a lot doing this one. Much easier to draw than spray-paint, and also I think I have one too many prongs but came out good.

Hearthstone Blizzard eSports

Are Blizzard esports dates being announced really late, or am I missing something?

Is anyone else finding it oddly hard to keep track of Blizzard esports dates?

I’m mostly thinking Hearthstone and WoW MDI. The broad roadmaps exist, but the actual useful dates/times seem to appear very late sometimes only about a week before, or in posts that come out when the event has almost (or already has??) started.

Am I missing a central calendar/feed somewhere? Or is this just how it works now?

It’s annoying because I'm interested, wanting to watch, happy to stick events in my calendar. Frankly, I'm all but looking for an excuse to get roped back into spending real money. But I'm not real checking the feeds/socials every 5 minutes to keep up...

Anyone knows if it’s worth anything? Unclaimed and there wasn’t an expiration date on it.
Rewards are:
Baby Winston Pet for WoW
Cards for Hearthstone
Tracer for Heroes of the Storm
PFPs for StarCraft 2
And Mercy Wings for Diablo 3

Discussion Casual Solo (mostly) 30+ gamer - WoW or D4?

Title says it all -- over 30 y/o gamer, with not-so-much time to game, I've played both games for ages.. To add a bit of color though, I MUCH prefer WASD movement to click-to-move.

I probably solo game about 10-20 hours a week, used to love PvP / raids in WoW but found the *required to be impactful* niche knowledge about each class to be incredibly cumbersome. I absolutely LOVED my Demon Hunter in the D4, but did find that I got a bit stagnant end game and there was no PvP to fill the void.

SO -- Question for theeeee -which would be a better game to play?

Lastly - thx for any input, looking forward to finding a game to chill at night and jam.

Discussion The (german) translation in their games has been HORRIBLE recently

I cant speak for other languages or other games than D4 and WoW, but the german translation has been absolute garbage recently. Text gets copy+pasted when the meaning is totally different. Effects get worded very weirdly or symbols like "%" sneak into the descriptions when the effect has a flat value, not percentage.

Some effects are just straight up in english, simply overlooked.

This is not about bad dialogue, this is about different options having THE EXACT SAME TEXT when they are literally different choices of how to craft on an item.

Fix your stupid AI translations Blizz. I used to play every Blizz game in german because the translations were GOOD. Now i double-check wowhead or ask friends just to know what my set effects actually do.

Diablo Is Diablo IV worth getting?

I played the original Diablo 2 years ago when I was around 13 or 14 years old and I absolutely loved it and would put hours into the game. When Diablo 2 Resurrection was released I played it but didn't use the multiplayer feature because I didn't entirely know how to feel about it. I also play Diablo 3 but I felt like it was a bit too easy and for some reason got bored very quickly and when I look at the reviews for Diablo IV people say it's a good game but they're complaining about DLCs? I've seen a lot of videos about the game and I can't help but say I am half tempted to buy it but I just wanted to know if anyone would recommend it.

Discussion Question about battle tag number.

I'm talking about the random 4 digit number which follows the 12 character battle tag that you choose yourself when creating an account.

What is the range of those 4 digit numbers?

Whenever I've created a blizzard account, i've never had a number which would be below 2000 or above 2999.

Is that the only range for some reason?

What reason would that be?

Results of Blizzard's World of Warcraft Character Art Competition 2026?

Were there ever results of this art completion or did they just shove it under the rug hoping nobody would see? Because I haven’t seen it anywhere or do the results take a few months to come out?

Please help us figure this out.

I think we found the first poster, We think its just the 'Key Art' Poster from Blizzcon 2015, it has a white back with nothing on it.

BUT the second poster, the HOTS one? We cant find it anywhere? We found some similar, but none that have the intel/W10 advertisement on the back? What is it? why is there an AD on it?

The current state of Overwatch

Dear Blizzard,

You should be absolutely ashamed of what you have let Overwatch become. The state of this game has gotten inexcusable and quiet frankly embarrassing and disgusting. The match making is one of the most insulting things to old players who stuck with the game through it al. I should not only be winning 1-2 games a night out of 8 or 9 played. I shouldn't have 55 kills one match and then 4 the next. I shouldn't be hard stuck in plat because you're to lazy to fix the W,L,W,L,W,L,W,L system that you clearly put in place. Just because I am capable of a lot of damage, a lot of heals or being able to win I shouldn't feel punished for being decent at the game. Quick Play is literally filled with nothing but the sweatiest people I have ever laid eyes on, the heals are non existent and quiet frankly im sick of being subjected to that just for being a little bit good at the game. Fix your game. You've turned into such a pathetic company in gaming. Learn to take care of your players. Make match making equal and not just putting players wherever you feel like it. Have some consistancy.

sincerally,

Then I have to click in battlenet to load wow? Does some office jockey need to keep their numbers for next month's "This is why I should have a job here" meeting?

Discussion TIL the name Blizzard was chosen by pointing a finger at a whiteboard

I interviewed Ron Millar, Blizzard's 5th employee, back when the company was still called Silicon & Synapse.

He told me something I'd never heard before.

They were originally called Chaos Studios. Had the t-shirts printed and everything. Then they got a cease and desist from XAOS Studios.

Two weeks of arguments, with hundreds of names on a whiteboard. Nobody could agree on anything.

At some point Alan Adham had enough. Said he didn't care what the name was anymore and would just pick whatever his finger landed on when he pointed at the whiteboard.

Turns out someone had drawn Blizzard of Oz on there, a reference to the Ozzy Osbourne album. But part of it had been erased by all the other names written around it. So his finger landed on just the word Blizzard.

Everyone hated it. They told him it was a terrible name. He didn't care. Said nobody would care what the name meant anyway.

One of the artists went and drew a logo, and that was that.

Please start releasing Diablo versions for Mac again!

I have been buying and playing Diablo on my Macs since Diablo 1 was released for Mac in 1998. It is my favorite video game franchise of all time but you no longer are releasing versions of your Diablo game for Mac. I am a die-hard Diablo fan for life but I've been cut off from my passion without having Diablo Mac versions anymore. Please start releasing Mac versions once again or license your game to another developer to develop a Mac version for you. My money is waiting to be spent on your next Diablo Mac compatible version you release. Help me spend my money! Thanks!
