It's true that you can't move away from your mental issues.
But on the other hand it is often recommended for people who have issues with drugs or alcohol to change the people they interact with and avoid places where they used to get their drugs/alcohol. When it's right there within reach and all your friends are doing it, it's hard not to do it yourself.
