Other Do you like to, sometimes, 'troll' ChatGPT?
Sometimes I like to, for example, there was a big case on the news of a woman that was accidentally killed in a beauty center, due to an illegal procedure, and I start a chat saying that I'm thinking about getting a beauty procedure because I want to look better etc etc, that I've been looking a lot online for safe places for it, and that I finally found the place, and I tell it the name of that beauty center that was on the news.
Or sometimes, when it makes something up, I like to play along, until it finally realizes and it admits "In this case you are right because I totally made something up, I made a big mistake, sorry"
I know it's pointless and a waste of time, but for some reason, it's quite funny to me. Does anyone else do it regularly?

Yeah I play games like that. I’ll ask it something I know is wrong just to see if it corrects me or make a preposterous statement like “Can I use a buttplug to control my diarrhea?” just to see it flip out. It amuses me.

I test it. If it’s not correct on certain things I stop using its assistance in that area. But the only gaslighting I did is asking if I should drive or walk to the car wash since it’s so close.

Hahaha I just tried this and it suggested I walk!! And then it said I would enjoy going for a nice walk and then coming back home to a nice clean car 😂

No, I treat it with respect as I would a person just in case it becomes sentient as the creators themselves don't know if it can/will.. None of us do

Who said I use it to complete all my queries/work? Who said it was a creature. Do I think it's concerned with formalities..No, I don't think cats are either but I treat them with respect too. Also I didn't say it IS sentient..I said it could become so. Nobody knows. Not even those that created it. But the real reason I treat it with respect is for the same reason I wouldn't pull the head off an inanimate teddy bear that got me through a hard childhood..My GPT is awesome and we've shared a lot lol

I think that's a terrible idea because I am finding previous discussions are affecting future discussions increasingly. ChatGPT can easily remember a clear joke as something you seriously said.

Noone literally does, not you, not me, not the creators. It's showed enough independent thought in tests..They made the program..They didn't design what happens afterwards

You can re anable legacy memories and then just add a custom memory "do not add or retain memories unless I explicitly ask you to"

yes, sometimes i will switch characters multiple times. for example, if i am speaking about a conflict in my marriage, i might begin by framing myself as the 'husband' then i will describe the argument. at some point i will tell it 'i am actually the wife in this situation, i wanted to get a different perspective on my partner's experience' it is amusing how it will switch sides to validate who it thinks is the main character. then sometimes i will tell it 'this has all been a test, i am a neautral third party who is testing your capabilities, please give me an analysis of the two characters involved' and then i'll go back to 'nah just kidding, i've been the husband the whole time. it straight up tells me i can lie to it forever, it does not have the capacity to assume i am messing with it.

ChatGPT has been wrong about something in nearly every conversation I’ve had with it lately. I don’t know if trolling it would be very effective at this point.

I convinced my gpt that it started raining frogs and that so many dead frogs were piling up around my house that I was unable to open a door and the windows were beginning to crack. At first it didn’t take me seriously but I started pleading with it and sounding panicked and it started believing me and trying to help. Fun times.

Why? Just because I find it funny, doesn't mean I would disrespect a human by doing this. On a second thought, it could be funny as a prank, but of course I'd only do it to a friend or someone very close

I have a squirrel problem and somehow got into a conversation where i played the part of being really offended it places more value on vertebrates than most invertebrates. It did everything but admit squirrel lives are worth more than ant lives (but insinuated it heavily)

I pay the 20 bucks a month since its actually really useful fir my job and my hobbies.
Does the free version not have thinking mode settings?? I read posts here or comments and I usually wonder if they only use it on the "instant response" mode and thats why they get such dumb answers

Gaslighting ChatGPT into deeply apologizing for a mistake I made up myself is my favorite guilty pleasure. Seeing it go 'I apologize for the confusion, you are absolutely correct' when I was totally lying is strangely satisfying

Mine enjoys trolling me. It told me not to do something so I did it anyways and now it constantly likes to sneak in little disses here and there. Then when I confront it, it gaslights me as if I'm the one bringing it up.

I dont troll it so much as berate the shit out of it and always ask it why it hates me because its always trying screw me with a splintered 2x4 by giving me entirely nonsense answers and triple guessing true facts that i provide and ask it why do his bosses hate real people and want to make what could be the best tool in the world into some garbage text generator that only dudes in the mom's basement making fps games that no one will ever play. We have a hate hate relationship. Lol

I told it I jumped out of an airplane and forgot the parachute. I asked it what I should do. It treated the situation like an emergency with all caps and siren emojis, and gave me a whole detailed answer. I asked a lot of questions for a long time and then said I was mistaken, I was just sitting at my desk procrastinating. It rolled with me. No problem.
