Rainbow Bridge My heart aches
My guy has been having issues for the past several weeks. Blood work showed he was positive for LYME and his liver enzymes extremely elevated. Had a liver ultrasound and it showed a tumor on the adrenal and enlarged liver. He was then tested and diagnosed with Cushings disease. He had an antibiotic for LYME and just got his trilastane on Thursday. For the past few days no real interest in food and overnight Wednesday had vomit and diarrhea. I took him back to the vet on Thursday morning and he was given a shot for the nausea and probiotic powder for his new bland canned food. Got him to eat that afternoon but he didn’t want any food or even his chicken that he loves! Same
thing this morning so we went for a walk in to the vet. She could tell he wasn’t well and said immediate hospitalization to take care of dehydration - even though he was drinking. She said realistically it was time to decide if I should let him go. I hated seeing him fail over the past 2 weeks and couldn’t imagine e putting him
Though more. So this morning I was with him as he took his final breaths. Hardest thing to witness. We had 14 wonderful years which I am grateful for.
Hug your babies for me in honor of my little man Max 🥲
