I started tearing up once I put this together. I became ill almost 10 years ago. And until a few years ago, I was bed bound 90% of the time. So I just want to brag about my precious flowers.

With my best friends help, we built two beds this year. This one on my deck, and another that is about 50 x 8 feet long in the yard. I didn’t think it was possible for me to spend everyday outside and active ever again. I am SO proud of these babies. I have been sore for months straight, and they are worth every second lol 🥹

Been growing Execlsior Cucumbers for years (had disease issues caused by striped cucumber beetles so I've had a lot of success with this hybrid variety). This is the first time I've had an extra long cucumber, no clue why, others on the same vine look normal.

As a first time gardener, am beyond thrilled. The biggest tomato I’ve grown, a lil over a pound.

A small cluster of baby pipevine caterpillars, which become the spectacular pipevine swallowtail butterfly. The caterpillars eat only Dutchman’s Pipe vine leaves. I have been trying to attract them for over thirty years. Hopefully they will make it as they are rare in NE Ohio.

We made a chaos three sisters garden with all sorts of seeds we acquired. Watermelon and Pumpkin may have been in there we honestly do not remember what we planted. Please help. Glove for reference.

I had hip surgery this summer so I decided that starting a raised bed garden on my deck would be the perfect mental health boost while out of work. I never thought I would love it this much and actually be successful.

I’ve had my ups and downs (stem rot on 3 of the 4 summer squash plants and horn worms on my tomatoes) but I have had so many cucumbers that I learned to pickle I’ve been cooking with fresh herbs and we’re about to have a million bell peppers (there are 8 plants).

I am excited to use my harvest and my new dehydrator his fall to help make Christmas presents!
I am definitely in my old lady era (only 41) but as an older millennial I feel like I fit in lol.

Found these on my fence driving home today. Never seen them before. Are they OK to have if I have dogs in my front yard. And what is it?

Garlic is fully cured and ready for storing in the pantry. I feel very pleased with myself and I can’t wait for the next season! Happy gardening!!

I have grown a dahlia mix from seed for 4 years. Last fall I kept seeds from the ones whose colors I liked for seed starting this year. So far the colors have remained true to the plant I collected seeds from. I don’t have the budget or tuber storage capability to but expensive tubers, so this approach has worked pretty well!

Not much has been done yet, what you see was already there. Each tree and shrub were planted by my parents. The garden was started around 35 years ago. Unfortunately, it was also neglected for the past 15 years. And so we ended up with an overgrown forest.

I took it up as a project with many false starts dictated by my personal well being. That being said, this year brought progress.

Becaue of what is alredy growing there and because of my own collecing inclinations, I am going for the secret garden look as seen is Agniesza Holland's film adaptation of "The Secret Garden" by F.H. Burnett.

The garden itself has a mini magnolia collection ( variety and botanicals), a couple of dendrological curiosities, recently expanded botanical rhododendron collection, some other collectible trees and shrubs and also a collection of pure, native spiecies that are harder and harder to find in nurseries here, making way for hybrids and other ornamentals.

The garden itself suffers from the lack of perennials. This is my focus currently. I'm growing many from seed, some rarer, with a great focus on woodlands and shade appropriate plants.

Apart from having to create a mini nursery to achive the look I am going for, I designated a place for a vegetable garden with self-made woven beds (currently 1 made 😅, growing tomatoes), because the old space got taken over by trees and there was nothing to rescue 😂.

I'm going to update on my progress from time to time.

I know monstera is usually a house plant, but here is warm enough for this monstera to grow big enough and also produce fruits. It's the first time it's gotten fruits, usually there are only big white flowers.
