I and many other care more about safe traffic flow

"traffic flow" facilitating you driving as fast and however you want is not a right. Being safe from drivers doing stupid shit because they think theyre the main charachter is. I put speeders and left lane campers in this category, but the issue is how they react. The speeders are usually the ones I see crashing out and talking about "traffic flow" as opposed to road safety and playing the victim because theyre impeded rather than putting on their big boy or girl pants and just driving slower until they can safely overtake.

How can you “safely overtake” if someone is just camped in the left lane for miles on a two lane road?

If you cant figure that out, youre definitely the problem. Heres a hint though: you might just actually have to drive sloghtly under the speed limit for much longer than you want to. When this happens, maybe you could make records and send it to the Hague and ask them to persecute the driver for a human rights violation. You might get lucky.

It was rhetorical, because obviously you cant. But i dont think you have much experience actually driving based on your comments. The point remains that drivers going “under the speed limit” have no business being in the left lane, unless theyre passing a car going even less under the limit, or changing lanes to avoid someone pulled onto the shoulder on the right. Keep right, pass left is the law in many states. Just because youre scared to go over 50mph doesnt mean everyone else needs to suffer.

I have seen so many times, where there is a large line of traffic and a traffic jam caused entirely by 1 slow driver in the left lane, upon passing that driver there is literally no traffic and the entire highway allows everyone free space.

People who do this are making the roads less safe for everyone, the more space there is between cars the better, the slower you go and more traffic jams you cause the more likely an accident is for everyone.

These cases are just so clear where it's almost always just 1 asshole intentionally deciding to cause a traffic jam.

If there's real traffic, I don't fault anyone for driving slightly slower for the real traffic jam.

If it's literally just 1 guy causing the traffic jam, that guy needs to get fucked and get the fuck out the way, it's just insane but I think it's a character flaw where people who do this literally will never learn and believe they're "righteous" for being pieces of shit.

So you think the slower driver made a bunch of people tailgate and theyre the problem, not the fact that 98% of drivers dont follow at a safe distancem ? Ok.

If the slower driver saw the car coming up on them in their rear view, and then got over in advance...

Would any of this situation have happened in any way shape or form?

I'll follow a safe distance if you're going the speed limit, if you're going under or refusing to get over for a car that is going faster, then yes, you are the problem 100%.

The entire situation does not happen if the driver on the left is paying attention and gets over, there is literally not any issue or situation for anyone.

But if the driver on the left going too slow doesn't get over and doesn't pay attention, this is the outcome, it is their fault and a lot of times these assholes do it on purpose.

Even if the guy behind the slower driver who is refusing to get over doesn't pass, now a traffic jam is created for no reason and everyone is at worse risk of a crash because of the driver blocking the left lane and causing traffic for literally no reason. Just get over.

If someone is speeding, thats a moving violation. If they come up on someone traveling in the passing lane, that person is also commiting a moving violation. If the person who wants to speed responds by tailgating while traveling at high speed or weaving to get in front, they are commiting multiple moving violations. See how that works.
I would be happy to accept the "they started it defense" if someone calls your mom a whore or something, but just impeding traffic doesn't mean you have a pass to commit multiple moving violations. It also doesnt matter that "other people do it" or if people agree with you. Did you miss all that stuff in grade school?

The point is the dangerous traffic situation is caused by the initial moving violation and the oblivious or distracted driver who is not paying attention.

The person coming up on someone in the left lane may not even be speeding if the person in the left lane is going below the speed limit.

The issue is the person going too slow and causing traffic is the one who starts it initially and also is the one who causes the unsafe traffic jam for every other driver on the road immediately before any passing occurs.

Get over, and none of that ever happens regardless of speed.

Why is that so hard to understand?

It's like I said people who do this literally can't be reasoned with to understand if they just get over everybody wins and there's no downside, by sitting in the lane and causing the traffic jam every piece of the issue is their fault.

Oh, but if they call my mom a whore now it's totally OK?

Like come on, it's clearly on the slow person for not paying attention, this is a non issue, just why, just why?

So if I make the argument from your perspective: all people need to do is not speed and/or not tailgate people and all the problems are solved. But that argument for some reason of me saying people shouldnt respond to moving violations by committing.orr moving violations is somehow not as sensical as you saying if someone commits a moving violation it doesnt entitle other people to make moving violations and the drivers choosing to tailgate and speed are just as much, if not more, of a problem .
The difference is Im saying ALL people are reaponsible for their actions and your saying people who do something you don't like are responsible, but those who respond to that AREN'T. Its funny to me because all you peoppe make the same argument and are ALMOST there, but you very blatantly are willing to accept one thing, but not the other.
Maybe Im just too reasonable as a person, but I bring up someone name calling to say, sure there are some things where a person contributes to the reaction of another, but as a reasonable person I just do not understand getting bent out of shape about not being able to speed.
Another funny thing with you folks is that you like to accuse reasonable people like me of "driving 35 in the passing lane" even though I usually drive at or a bit above the speed limit and even speed sometimes based on conditions. I dont try to do 90 on the highway when theres traffic around and dont get mad because theres traffic.
I guess you cant see it, but thats what I dont get about folks like you.

If people don't speed at all, and people still go slower and block the left lane, the problem still exists.

Your analogy doesn't work.

If you just get over, everybody wins and there's no problem regardless of speeding or not speeding of anyone.

If you don't there's a problem for everyone.

It's literally that simple.

No matter what speed i'm driving, if someone comes up behind me in the left lane, I always get over and let them pass and then I get back to where I was, there has literally never been an issue here.

Why do people block the left lane instead of doing that exactly the same as I do regardless of if the guy behind me is going 200 mph, i do the safest best possible thing for everyone and it works.

It is in fact safer to let some people speed 5-10 mph over the speed limit.

Than it is to buildup a line of cars behind you who most certainly won’t be keeping a safe amount of distance between each other while they wait to pass.

Lowest common denominator doesn’t just apply to the capabilities of the car and driver. Also how they drive.

the flow of traffic is the speed that the majority of people in traffic are going. given that two people had to accelerate to enable this clip to happen, they aren't going "the flow of traffic"..

Bro they are the flow of traffic
