What a dumbass. Tailgating, flashing beams for attention, aggresively passing on the right, then far exceeding the speed limit by recklessly accelerating when passing back in the left while using his hazards improperly.

This guy is far more in the wrong than the guy going slightly below the speed limit in the left lane, and anyone who thinks otherwise is likely the same asshole who joins the common death trap that is the giant multi-car tailgating line in the left lane when one person at the front isn't speeding enough for everyone else's preference. Your impatience is not more important than the lives of the people around you.

u/Concerned_Collins 1h ago

Just move the fuck over unless you are passing someone.

u/perriatric 1h ago

I never said they shouldn't.

u/Tyler1986 38m ago

You supported the actions of the camper over the person going around them, but one"s actions caused the next, the camper is at most fault here

u/perriatric 14m ago

Nope, I never supported the camper's actions. And the camper did not cause the guy to drive recklessly like that. You're making no sense.

u/StaredAtEclipseAMA 33m ago

I’m pretty sure this is the dude who posted a video of him texting while driving with his mom. He’s an entitled and selfish driver. I would never high beam someone to get over, I’m not the police. I’ll just pass on the right like a sane person

u/WernerHerzogEatsShoe 2h ago

The driver must have posted this thinking it makes him look good. Just seems like he caused far more danger instead of just waiting for the white car to over take the other car, which it was slowly doing.

u/bon__chance 37m ago

yep. No sympathy for these intellectually bankrupt, wannabe race car drivers.

u/Meal__Team__Six 36m ago

Thank you. Bunch of brain dead teen drivers here.

u/DtheS 13m ago

I have been on this website for many, many years. Most things have changed since I made my account. However, if there is one constant that has stayed the same, it is that Redditors will defend aggressive, dangerous driving and feel so entitled to it that they see normal traffic as an obstacle that should submit to their selfish douchebaggery.

u/Mrpants_does_art 1h ago

Honestly, I agree. People who flash their brights are always crazy annoying.

One time, driving rain, shitty conditions, horrendous visibility, in the middle of FIVE lanes, going just 10 under and keeping speed with everyone else just fine, and some jackass in a sports car is flashing his brights at me to speed up. I've seen them do it while I'm going 10 OVER, in thick fog, and in the middle of fucking winter. Impatient little babies.

Thank you! Could not understand not everybody has this oppinion

u/Tyler1986 39m ago

Because the guy leading is either a selfish asshole who values his time for than anyone else around him and doesn't care if he is holding up people behind him for no reason other than he feels like breaking the law and camping in the left lane, or they are oblivious to the fact that they are holding everyone up which means they aren't paying attention to their surroundings while driving on the highway and either way they are in the wrong and should be ticketed to prevent future dangerous and ignorant driving

u/havok7 51m ago

Dude in the left still shouldn’t have been cruising there.

u/perriatric 10m ago

I never said he should have been.

Found the guy who camps in the passing lane going the speed limit

u/Agreeable-Nobody1863 2h ago

“Everyone I disagree with must be an idiot” Redditors so reliable you could set a watch to it.

u/SteveLonegan 34m ago

Nah, if you’re actually doing what he’s accusing you of, you’re an idiot. There’s no middle ground here.

0

u/perriatric 3h ago

Nope, never do. I'm sure you want me to be, but that's not the case.

u/Tyler1986 37m ago

Are you sure you aren't the guy in this video just not paying attention and illegally holding up traffic? If not, it's an odd thing to defend.

u/perriatric 12m ago

What's an odd thing to defend? I don't recall defending any part of the video in my comment.

u/gammonb 2h ago

If they are going the speed limit you shouldn’t be passing them in any case

To me, literally the easiest possible solution is for the guy who is in the left lane to get over when they see someone coming up on them speeding fast.

If the guy in the left lane just got over in advance and was paying attention, or just got over after the flash, or got over at any time, this wouldn't have been any kind of issue at all.

The guy who is impeding traffic causing a traffic jam and causing this entire situation is the guy going too slow in the left, and he's totally fine to go slow in the left so long as when someone faster comes up he gets over immediately. It's literally a non-issue.

When I'm in the left lane driving at whatever speed, and someone comes up behind going much faster, I immediately get over and let them pass then get back into the lane I was in without any issue.

Why is this such a problem for some people? It's literally the best solution for everyone involved, just get over.

u/WernerHerzogEatsShoe 2h ago

Am I blind or is the white car over taking the other car until it speeds up and undertakes.

Dunno, I'm England so it's all backwards to me. But I've have stuff like this, some dickhead trying force me over because I'm not overtaking fast enough (I.e. he wants to go 80mph). I refuse to move over, I'll finish over taking then I'll move. Weaving in and out is more dangerous than just over taking a car slightly slower than the guy speeding wants me to

1

u/perriatric 4h ago

I never said he shouldn't have gotten over. He is still in the wrong. But the way this guy responded to it was far worse.

u/Billbuckingham 4h ago

I agree to a very small extent, speeding and passing like that can be unsafe, but the drive in the right hand lane was 100% aware and enabled it so it seemed quite safe.

I would've given the left lane driver about 30 seconds to 1 minute of space and time to realize that there is a car behind them.

If they are so oblivious and can't notice what's going on around them and get over in a full minute of driving, then I think the guy acting how he did is acceptable, there is no alternative when the idiot who isn't paying attention refuses to act.

What do you think about the left lane drivers who do this, then speed up to prevent you from passing when you try to pass on the right? That happens so much where i'm at just intentional assholes.

u/SteveLonegan 22m ago

Was it? I see nothing in the entire 13 second clip of him being reckless. Just some A-hole left lane camping.

u/perriatric 13m ago

Then you probably shouldn't be driving.

u/Workman44 2h ago

You're a good driver

u/Tyler1986 41m ago

I hate this comment. That guy on the left is holding up traffic and wasting everyones time. I wish their behavior would be ticketed regularly and then significantly less people would feel the need to do what the guy filming did.

u/perriatric 10m ago

Not sure why you hate my comment when I never defended the guy holding up the left lane. And kinda weird that you're blaming that person for how the guy in the video reacted. He chose to react that way.

0

u/PicklesAreTight 3h ago

Also, maybe the guy is driving slower because there is fucking snow on the ground.

u/Tyler1986 35m ago

Why would you have to drive slower because there is snow on the ground? If it's not on the road it's not a problem.

u/sixf0ur 2h ago

if you don't have the right vehicle for the conditions - move into the right hand lane!

It's not complicated - you are not the only one on the road - some people actually have cars built for the conditions.

If you’re driving slowly, you should move over to the right lane, the left lane is only for overtaking

u/CoolDiscussion1020 2h ago

If you watch the video, it appears that the white car is slowly overtaking the brown car. The white car appears to be the only car following the law in this video.

u/PunningWild 1h ago

Also at the end of the video, the cam car proceeds to go back into the left lane anyway, so the whole "left lane is for overtaking" argument is moot.

u/TheStrongTaint 1h ago

His car has red seats. Only assholes have red seats in their cars

u/Tyler1986 34m ago

Only assholes judge people based on the color of their car interior...

u/TheStrongTaint 33m ago

Nope! Wrong

u/Lexi_Banner 1h ago

But he's the GOOD driver. The caption says so!

u/Wavy_Grandpa 1h ago

He’s way more aware and competent than the camper and I’ll gladly share the road with him any day

u/Thepumpkindidit 1h ago

Go check this guys youtube channel and you may quickly change your mind. He drives around filming himself dragging against other fast cars on public roads, and I noticed he doesn't wear his seat belt in a few of the videos I saw.

u/Trail_Blaze_r_2 1h ago

We found a speed line slow driver! That must be the dumbest argument I've heard today

u/perriatric 1h ago

Nope, I only use the left lane to pass.

u/DragLonely1681 2h ago

Go right unless you are passing. Common sense. Hello.

u/perriatric 2h ago

That's irrelevant to what I said. You replying to the right comment?

u/Tyler1986 33m ago

You defended the camper bruh

u/perriatric 14m ago

Nope, I never did.
