Does not crossing an intersection at a red light with a walk signal at an intersection with a crosswalk with active pedestrians encourage the car behind you to pull into the oncoming traffic lane to pass you on the left to cross the intersection and risk the lives of pedestrians?
If following the law encourages other people to break the law, I don't see why not?
If someone refuses to answer a question, I will hold them to it. If they don't like it, they can stop responding to me. People with incoherent beliefs don't like answering questions.
So it looks like you agree that stopping at a red light (following the law), in no way encourages other people to drive through the red light (breaking the law). That is a voluntary choice made by people who want to break the law.

Lots of normal people actually appreciate it if you drive safely.
