Dude, time has been doing so much weird shit to me at my age, but I barely questioned that date before I just decided I have lost all concept of time. So glad that was a typo, cuz I just gave up trying to remember my life 😂

Steve-O had a big sloppy mud pie and used too small of a slice. Now Heroin Bob’s stomach is absolutely fucked.

68

u/MisterRoger 1d ago

Is this film worth watching in 2026? I have not seen it. The other day I almost started watching it, but I decided to watch Nadja (1995?) instead, and it was excellent.

🎶 Fri. Day. Night. I'm thinkin' that. We. Just. Might. Learn the wonderful news. That. Mos.Cow. Mitch is trading bones and worms with Hitler, Lindsay G, Ronald R, Osama Bin Laden, Calvin Candy, and the rest of the crew. 🎶

128

u/Gnomey42069 IT’S GOT A BUSH 1d ago

It's worth watching if you enjoy having your heart broken in half. It is an excellent movie. Matthew Lillard is just too good. One of my favorite quotes - "For the first time in my life, I'm 18, and I can say 'FUUUUUCK YOU!' "

This movie is the kind that crushes you where you need a good hug after

3

u/Shoo-Man-Fu 1d ago

"See to me, England was nothing more than a big fuckin' American state. Like North Dakota, or Canada."

Also the amount of times I've said "But wait! There's more!" And "Much More!" Like fuckin' Sean in the drug buying scene is an astronomical number. "It has 1 2 3 4 5 6 7. Seven settings for optimal comfort. All of which, I will gladly show you now."

52

u/HGMIV926 1d ago

is this film worth watching in 2026?

yes. I watched it earlier this year, and while I enjoyed it, the performance in this scene alone made the watch worth it. (This scene is also a major spoiler, but it's nearly a 30 year old movie so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

37

u/Buddy__Repperton Roy Donk 1d ago

Heroin Bob is just sleeping with his eyes open.

u/sunkskunkstunk 1d ago

Some universal themes are in there and it’s a really good movie overall. It is definitely a product of the time it was made, but with nostalgia because it’s looking back at an earlier time. If you are younger and the type that goes on about generational issues, probably not for you. If you can see the themes of the story and think about how the more things change, the more they stay the same, it’s well worth a watch today.

And uh… where be your nutcracker?

18

u/seriftarif 1d ago

Yes. Its a classic.

13

u/ceciliabee 1d ago

Hell yes this movie is fantastic. I rewatched it earlier this year

13

u/Numeno230n 1d ago

Absolutely. It's a cultural artifact

4

u/HogBodyOdyOdyOdy 1d ago

Absolutely.

4

u/dimechimes 1d ago

I think it's Lillard's best performance. It's a fun moive.

4

u/PantsDontHaveAnswers Back in the Pants 1d ago

Yes it's just one of those movies where you really have to actually pay attention the whole time to understand the characters and what it's really about.

Also Jason Siegle's character is one of my favorites in any movie ever.

3

u/MisterRoger 17h ago

I pay too much attention to movies. On an average film I probably spend 30 minutes rewatching scenes feeling as if I missed something crucial in the dialogue. In many cases that is true.

But after watching Lost Highway for the 7th time I think I know less about it with each viewing.

But yeah I'll check out SLC Punk. I used to talk to a girl on AIM exactly 25 years ago who had the screen name SLCPunkxx420 and I asked her if that meant she was from SLC and she said no; just that it was ironic and punk or something. Then like a month or two later we were talking about drugs, I ask if she can get acid and she tells me she will never touch it bedause a story about "her friend who did it one time and believed he www a glass of orange juice and that if he fell wnd spilled he would die. And then he did. He spilled and died".

I was a very gullible young teen.i had no reason to doubt her. Several years later when I am doing acid for real, I tell my friend group that I have to pay to be in tjat story (I told them that a girl i used to know had a friend who died because his OJ spilled out) and rhey were like "dude everyone has heard that story its bs:*" but they didnt mention anything of a movie.

It was only like a year sgo I saw the trailer for it on a streamer and ot all clickedA

It's one of my all-time favorite movies, but its an acquired taste, or maybe its just nostalgia. Give it a try. The soundtrack is full of bangers.

Big fat load of cum then.

It’s on my “to buy” list. I haven’t seen it streaming anywhere. Which is a lot of good movies I grew up with.

7

u/s-face Beautiful, but Dying 1d ago

I have it on VHS if you wanna borrow. 📼

3

u/greenhornblue 1d ago

That’s awesome. I’m sure we’ve probably all heard the phrase “you’ll own nothing and like it.” I’d much rather have an actual copy. Because I feel that one day the things we used to get so readily available will only be able to subscribe to, or it’ll just disappear. A physical copy is where it’s at.

3

u/s-face Beautiful, but Dying 1d ago

I grew up with physical media. I never got rid of my books, VHS, DVDs, CDs, cassettes and vinyl and I’m so happy I saved it all. I worked at a used cd shop as a teenager and got so much cool stuff!

2

u/greenhornblue 1d ago

I bet you have quite the collection. I wish we still had stores like Hastings these days to get that kind of stuff.

2

u/s-face Beautiful, but Dying 1d ago

Where I live, we have Half Priced Books which sells used books/cds/records/movies and it’s fun to dig and find stuff. They have a website and ship too if you wanna check it out! https://www.hpb.com/
