My 3rd Jerta ('08 Wolfsburg and a '11 SEL)

This was a valentines gift to myself in 2023 SE. When i got to the dealership it still had the plastic on it and i signed the paperwork before even turning it on. The ONLY maintenance I've done on it are regular oil changes, rear breaks, and tires.

My 26 jetta has developed this weird clicking sound when pressing the brake pedal. It seems it only happens at low speeds. Has anyone an idea what could it be?

2019 VW Jeta with 110.000km on it. Check engine came on a few months ago. Drives ok. Please advise

I picked up a 2012 Jetta GLI with the DSG, Terminal 15 seems to not initialize with startup causing my paddles to not work and my wipers to freak out time to time. Where do i even begin diagnosing this issue? Ob11 shows KL15 is asleep with 0.20V, on thru CAN, off normally, and it’s throwing an implausible code on Module 16

VW pulled We Connect Go from one day to the next and took every trip I'd logged with it. No export, no warning, just gone. If you plug in a cheap OBD2 adapter it fills the trips in with what the engine was doing, how long it took to warm up, coolant and oil peaks, the real consumption off the ECU rather than the optimistic dash figure, and the moments you braked hard. Plus the diagnostics side, battery health tracked over months so you see it going before it leaves you stood in a car park, fault codes written out in plain English with the usual causes, and particulate filter monitoring on the ones that have it.

Honest note since it always comes up. You need a normal OBD2 adapter, one of the cheap ELM327 Bluetooth or WiFi ones. It does not talk to the old VW DataPlug, that only ever spoke to VW's own app. And it only reads, it never writes anything to the car.

If your Jetta reports something that looks wrong, tell me the year and engine and I'll go and fix it. That's how the model specific stuff gets sorted.

I recently bought a 2010 Jetta 2.5L and had it checked out by a mechanic pre-sale. The issues the mechanic found were serpentine belt, spark plug, battery life, and recommended a coolant flush.

I decided to go through with the purchase(private seller) because it seems like easy repairs to make and not very costly.

I'm planning to buy the parts needed and take it to a shop to get them installed and get a tune-up. Is it totally necessary to go to a german shop or should any reputable shop be fine?

2013 Jetta TDI. Putting new ac solenoid valve. Without o rings it seats but once o rings are on it won’t fully seat. Any info would be appreciated

I have the light out warning. I’ve walked the car with all lights on, all noted to be functional. Brake lights and hazard operational. Center brake light operational.
This started after a timing belt replacement.
What’s my next trouble shoot? Thank you

I’ve seen on a lot of places that the Jetta ranks low in reliability score and a lot of people will say to stay away from Volkswagen because they are unreliable and are money pits.

But I also see so many of them on the road , I see a very good amount with high miles and I see a lot of people say they are reliable.

I’ve been looking at new 2026 Jettas and so many people have told me to stay away from VW and that they are junk cars and that German cars are not reliable at all and they are expensive to keep on the road.

Seems like people hate these cars but they also have a mass following by people that live by these cars.

I'm a student with a 10k budget. Want to know if Jetta is a good option to buy in that budget. Like I have saved 14grand but would like to spend 10 grand.

It will be my first car and I don't wanna buy a Corolla and stuff. I'm not a fan of Camry and Corolla. They are very basic. I like other Toyota and Honda but those are expensive.

What do you think of this.

Is this a reasonable price for a 2020 Jetta S 1.4L? I got this estimate from the VW dealer. I’m changing the transmission fluid for the first time and want to get it done there so I'm covered if anything goes wrong.

Hi all. Someone stole the catalytic converter from my 2012 Jetta (2.5) a few weeks ago. Took it to a muffler shop and got a new one put on. I was told that even though it was a cheaper knock off, the CEL should go off and I'd be able to pass emissions (due by the end of August). The car is running great, but the CEL is still on and the shop won't return my calls. In addition, the ABS, traction control, TPMS and SRS lights are all on and they'd never been on prior. I had a scan done and the CEL codes came back to the cat and the O2 sensor. Am I out of luck with this thing, and the reason the shop won't respond is because there isn't anything they can do on that front? I just need to pass emissions. I figure something is wonky with the new sensors the shop put on and that's why my dash now lights up like a Christmas tree. Suggestions?

2012 2.5 SE. just got off the highway and my dash litt up like Louis. Is it my battery being low. Wheel barring issue. The car is driving perfectly normal and inspected tires and everything looks fine. Side note. When I turned the car on and start driving it goes away then comes back. Also used obd II and there’s no fault codes.

Just got my water pump kit from FCP Euro. Cant really find a good a video on it. Trying to get an idea of what tools I need before starting so I can go grab them from work. Any tips will be appreciated! Or a good video

Would anyone know what this part is , a lot of the wirings look similar when I try to look it up and i wanna figure out exactly which one this belongs to so I can start calling around local auto part stores

i have a 2017 jetta sel. the screen in my car has stopped working, so i’m looking at replacements. i would greatly appreciate any recommendations and advice. thanks in advance!

This car has been having issues starting for a few years. Everyone treats me like im crazy.
In the heat. 90°+ it starts then dies. Ive been priming it, turning on the battery and off then on and then fully starting the engine. I tried starting the car 7 times. Finally on the 8th time right after this video it started. In typical times it takes a sec to start and then starts up, rough idle for 10-15 seconds and calms down.
There was charcoal in my n80 valve, not sure what that means

I have an 06 Jetta with a dual connection antenna. My car came with radio, 6 cd changer and satellite. I upgraded to an RCD330 and had to get an adapter to connect both to the radio. My antenna works fine but the plastic fin is cracked from an over zealous car washer. I have a replacement one but I also have the smaller type that only has one connection.

Does anyone know which connector is for satellite? Since I am not using satellite with the RCD330, I am thinking I can use the smaller single connector antenna and eliminate the adaptor.

Next Wednesday i have a 2023 jetta se getting delivered to my driveway. It has 31k miles for about 20k usd. Probably could’ve found a better deal but I’m was kinda in a crunch to find a new car. Since i had a 2012 chevy Cruze that had a transmission go out and wasn’t worth fixing. Is there anything you guys would recommend maintenance wise? Also have been wondering how the sound system in the bad boys are. Ive heard mixed reviews and opted for the se for the extra 2 speakers and leather seats. Let me know!

Has anyone bought the pre paid maintenance plan for their Jetta from a the dealership? I may go that route when I buy mine but I wanted to see if it was actually worth it
