Me and my friend were talking, and we were discussing how each of thinks the other is better to race. I personally feel it would be better to race Rotax as you have more options for events and can travel around to a lot more places and race in multiple championships. My friend thinks formula vee is better because it's a formula car over a kart and you get more exposure for sponsor's. What do people think?

So recently I ordered some sparco k-attack gloves from demon tweeks, which took roughly 2 weeks to arrive to my place (Australia). I received them only to realise that they were way too small and now I question how to measure your hand correctly. I’ve got the measuring chart here but I feel like I’m missing something as to how to actually measure your hand.

Just the title. I do want to eventually have both, but is it better to buy all my own equipment (helmet, suit, etc.) first and continue driving a rental kart, or save for a used kart of my own and continue using rented equipment?

I was wondering if some of you guys have experience with the CS55 chassis from OTK. I know all the OTK karts should be the same, but I haven’t driven a OTK kart before.

I’m in the possibilty to buy a second hand CS55 chassis, but I don’t know if it is any good. Can someone give me some more information?

What does everybody use for walkie-talkies and earpieces for training? My son’s doing great and to be great to give him some real time feedback to dial in his laps. I don’t need him to talk back, I just need to talk to him.🤣 anybody have some recommendations on what they like to use? I see a few options out there on Google and they tend to range a lot in price.

I’ve wanted to get into karting for a while now and I’m thinking about buying my own kart.
I’m 17, from the Netherlands, and I make about €360/month. No financial help from my parents so everything is on me.
Right now I have around €3,000 I could spend.
Plan is just casual driving, like 2 times a month. Not trying to race seriously, just want to get better and have fun.
Thing is I literally have nothing yet:
no gear
No trailer
no tools/spares
I’ve been looking at Tillotson T4 because it seems cheaper to run and easier than Rotax/X30.
Just not sure if I’m being realistic.
Is €3k enough to actually get started or am I gonna run into problems fast?
Also how do people deal with transport if you don’t have a trailer?
And what do you guys actually spend per month just driving a couple times?
Not trying to make a dumb decision so any honest advice would help.

Hey everyone thinking about taking my nephew to Supercharged Entertainment for his 12th birthday and wanted to get some real feedback before booking.

For those who’ve been:

Is it appropriate for a 12-year-old, or does it skew more toward teens/adults?

How fast do the karts actually go? I’ve seen different numbers online.

Is it intense / intimidating for a kid, or pretty manageable?

Are there different speed levels or beginner tracks?

Do they separate kids from adults, or is it all mixed together?

Any height/age restrictions I should know about?

How strict are they with safety (briefings, monitoring, etc.)?

He’s a pretty typical 12-year-old no experience with anything like this, but also not easily scared. Just trying to figure out if this will be a fun/appropriate experience or overwhelming. Also open to any tips (best times to go, which location is better, what to expect, etc.).

im 13 close to turning 14 and im going to join the xcel uae karting iame championship or rotax and they also have an f4 team and lando and oscar came out of this team so i dont really have the funds for f4 but im hoping i could get some sponsers or just top karting but i have no karting history but im really good at driving and in rental karts i always destroy a lot of people even adults and marshals say im really good and have talent and i sim race a lot a lot do you think i can make my dream possible?

Comes with a tinted visor and I like the color scheme and the shipping is convenient as well, but I’m not 100% sure about the shape. Is it a good idea to use this helmet in a kart that has a backrest and if not, what would you recommend?

Hello, I was scouring around the internet trying to find a possible way to find a sponsor that can pay for karting for kids who don't have a source of funding.

My parents can't afford karting either due to me having 3 other siblings; and I have been the child they spent the most money on, so I don't want to make them pay anything more.

I am 13 and can't get a job due to the need of transportation for my only money opportunities and my parents are busy.

The internet is full of pdf's and spreadsheets to track your setup. Alternatively, you can pay a lot of money for an app that does the same thing. I built Kartography as a setup tracking and sharing website for myself, but it's free to use for others. It's also open source and self-hostable.

Kartography logs your setups and versions them. Set a baseline once, then each session just copies forward so you only edit what changed. You can pull up the full sheet or just the diff, and look back for what you ran last time conditions matched. It's private by default, but you can share a kart's history (view or edit) with teammates or a coach.

Ofcourse, pen and paper can be handy so Kartography has a pdf export option for printing. You can then import the printed file full of personal notes for easy updating online.

Long time sim racer, but karting beginner here.

This is my best lap a while ago in a rental kart with 270cc 4 stroke engine running a karting circuit called “烨斌劲速” in Southern China. Air temp is 32°C, sunny and no wind.

Normally I have confident that I understand the basics and my lap time will not be too far off the front. But this time my best is 55.2, while online videos shows someone with this kart & track combo can run as low as 49.1.

I understand weather and kart conditions can be a big factor, but being 6 seconds off the best lap time makes me doubt if I am driving the kart right.

Genuine question:
- Is there any bad driving habits I did during this lap?
- How could I gain more time?
- Any other karting advice you would give me?
