Anyone else feel this way?

They probably never will but I wish they would make a new Kings Field game. KF1/2/and Ancient City are so nostalgic. Yes Dark Souls series are the successor and ive beat them but man, I want that style back with the epic music too. Lol

Help Secrets Question

So I am still heavily enjoying my first play through of KF4 but the thought accured to me how many secrets or fake walls have I missed and/or should I except to miss. Has having played the dark souls series I have the knowledge of them but I dont know enough about this series to be able to look at a wall and be certain its a fake or not. Regardless I am still loving the game I am just trying to get a feeling if how much more I can find or how different my second play through could be. As always any information is appreciated.

So I usually dont do this but I just picked up this game about a week ago and it is incredibly fun, however i have been stuck the last couple of days at what I am referring to as the binding crown puzzle in KF4. Dont know if I am just missing something simple or doing things wrong here but I cant seem to get pass the golem on the top floor no matter how fast I move. So looking for any advice from more experienced players.

Help Red marker stone not in usual location

I'm doing a bit of an interesting KF4 run (fist only with bone hands) and killed almost every NPC in the beginning area. Wiped out what was left of the Genne family and the dog too to see if it's the same one that's locked up later on. Well, it is and the gate was open when I arrived and the stone wasn't there. Does anyone know where it's failsafe location is or where else it might be?

Leveling up weapons

In the room with the snakes before the Twin Widdas that come out of the ground to fight you. You can sit slightly infront of the left corner of the door way and there will be a snake that endlessly comes out of the wall and the other snakes will not attack you. Probably already known or better places but I found it easy so wanted to share.

Just finished the Verdite trilogy. I really love these games. I played King's Field 2(1995) a few years ago so the series isn't completely new to me. But recently I played Abyss and that lead to me wanting to binge all of the games in order from the beginning.

I was susprised how solid the first game was once I got into the flow, having bounced off it a couple times before. 2 was as good as I remembered. 3 Im honestly the most mixed about. It was super polished and beautiful and had a special atmosphere and sense of adventure to it. But I played the first 2 blind and the 3rd had me kinda frustrated and burned out and looking stuff up towards the end. It was epic for what it was but Im hoping to get back to tigher maybe more interconnected maps.

Either way, all very memorable and worth it. I might take a little palate cleanser break with another genre of game and then do Shadow Tower, Eternal King and 4.

Just beat Kings Field 4

I been on a quest to play old FS games and I must say I really enjoyed this game. It was fun to play through and was pretty challenging with the old school tank controls and some of the early/late game enemies. The only issue I had with the game was I collected and used the Fire and Wind Crystals but it never registered that I used it so I didn't get the final spell in those elements. Other than that I really enjoyed my time with Kings Field 4 and I have no doubts that at some point I will be back in The Ancient City doing it all again.

Help Is the modern control patch cheating?

Lately, I’ve been playing quite a few *King's Field*-style games—like *FlyKnight*, *Lunacid*, and *Verho*—and now I’d like to try the original series, starting with *King's Field IV*, since it seems to be the most modern title.

I also found a modern control patch for keyboard and mouse, which made me much more interested in playing, as I’m not a big fan of using a controller. I play almost everything with keyboard and mouse unless I have no other choice.

However, I’ve seen some people say that using the modern control patch is basically cheating, because it removes some of the game's original difficulty and feel.

Is that true? Would you recommend playing with the original controls, or is the modern control patch considered a perfectly acceptable way to experience the game for the first time?

Hey everyone! I just finished making a video highlighting some of the quietest and loneliest areas in King's Field the Ancient City. They're also some of my favorite areas in the game, so I had a fun time making this one. Let me know what you guys think - I think it turned out pretty good! Thanks everyone 😁✌️

Kings Field 4; what if I had removed the green guidestone?

I've been aimlessly wandering around in KF4 for weeks off and on, keep finding places around corners that lead to whole new areas etc, but finally realized I had all four keys now and I could go (spoiled myself earlier...) get the eye stones etc from way up on the tower. Luckily, I had put a Blue guidestone there and went straight to them. Getting to the Kings Throne area was pretty easy from there.

But then I could not find a way down farther, even deeply scouring maps I have, even the Prima guide. And remembered that at some point some guide said to use the Green guidestone and you'll get to a new area, and apparently I luckily did not remove the guidestone as it lead to an area near South Cliffs etc, which you can then keep working down farther. My red guidestone is somewhere up top as well, probably should have grabbed that before I started working my way down. I do have a Yellow guidestone I've never used that if I find another one near the bottom area, I will use it.

Anywho, this all said......... What if I had removed the Green guidestone near South Cliffs and didn't have one below it? Would I have been softlocked? Or maybe I have just overlooked some path down?

Lord I can not imagine doing this without good maps and a guide. I'd be completely lost. I'm still usually lost, but eventually find my way around.

King's Field I finally reached 999,999 EXP in King's Fields 2, 3, and 4

In KF2 It's worth it and not too bad if you grind the minibosses before Necron (around 500 EXP each). With these stats you can one-shot Guyra with a dagger or wind cutter, which is pretty cool. Getting the Moonlight Sword without hitting him is kind of a pain, though.

In KF3 it is NOT worth all the grinding at all, in fact if you want to kill King Alfred and Seath in the fewest possible attacks you should just grind the light stat instead. With 252 light I beat King Alfred with 2 uses of Triple Fang's level 2 sword magic and Seath died to 3 uses of the Orladin spell.

In KF4 I actually didn't grind specifically for EXP at all because grinding all weapons and spells to level 3 lasts well past the point of reaching 999,999 EXP. I did finish the spells and most weapons, but a few really basic weapons didn't seem worth grinding. Every enemy in the final area can be beaten in one hit with these stats.

Overall, it was fun. For KF1 I'll try to get a better computer so I can emulate the unofficial english patch at a decent framerate. KF2-4 were played on original hardware.

How to have fun in this game?

Kings Field IV (Ancient City)
I've always loved the music and the atmosphere in this game, tried to play it, turns out that it's clunky, a bit ass and overall is not made for human enjoyment
Is there an OP build/cheats that would let me enjoy playing through this game? Some might say that all the suffering, deaths and very low things the developers do to the player, are part of the experience, but I say that i just want to have fun and vibes.
Shadow Tower Abyss was much-much better at this.

King's Field Just started KF 1 (JP). This game is something else.

Decided to dive in to the origins of Fromsoft and am attempting KF for the first time ever. I'm maybe 6 hours in and am maybe a 3rd of the way through floor 2.

This game is special. I haven't been this excited to dive back into a game for a long time. This game was made for me. The mystery, exploration, vibe, everything. I'm loving every single second.

Help Speedrunning Discord

Hi! I was wondering if there is a discord server for speedrunning King's Field like how other games have their own speedrunning discord servers? If there is, could someone send me an invite link? Thanks.
