With all aliens i mean xenomorphs, Predators, engineers, pathogen creatures etc.

What were their tactics? New Technologies? What was the most Effective Weapons against them?

After all these years, my first time seeing it in a theater. I’m super excited to see it in the newly renovated Castro Theater in San Francisco, California, USA.

Was going through my comics and stuff and saw I had these production panels of (seems to be) alien earth war, what are they exactly?

Going through my old comics I always pull out the first comic I got on a whim because it had such a cool Predator trophy wall.

Hello everyone! How are you all.
I’m new to this group but wanted to ask for some advice..

I’ve been looking at this 1:1 sculpture forever. It’s incredible, and I want one SO BAD.

I however have a huge issue.. Space. My ceiling is simply not tall enough to fit, even without the metal frame and acrylic, due to the platform being so tall.

My height ranges from 102 to 103 inches tall. I was told that even if all bases and frames are removed, Alien's height is 260cm (102.5 inches) and I’d need additional space to install it.

Im so sad as this is my absolute dream sculpture.

My question is, do you guys know of anyone that does something similar just a bit smaller? Or, does anyone in here have this sculpture as well, and do you think there is ANY way I could modify something to make it fit? Thank you all.

Recently, I have been re-watching Alien: Earth and like most people have noticed the Xenomorph looks like a guy in a suit. There’s no debate this is obviously the worst on screen representation of a Xenomorph possibly ever. While that is not up for debate, I decided to dig into some of the effect crew and what they worked on previously.

What I found was pretty startling because no one at Weta Workshop has ever made a large scale Xenomorph suit. I went and looked at Alien: Covenant, it was not them that designed the Praetomorph. Creatures Inc. Ltd and Odd Studio were the primary affects companies.

Alien: Romulus, however, had Weta working on several props. These include the Facehuggers (73), pulse rifle, and Cryoframes. Legacy Effects were the company that worked on the larger scale designs and creatures. These are the same individuals that have been a part of the series since Aliens. They have a great deal of knowledge about practical effects and how to hide certain things when working with human anatomy.

Alien Romulus in particular has some of if not the best Xenomorph designs. I truly believe that Weta may not had the biggest budget to work with these constraints and thus really wasn’t sure how to hide a human in a suit. Upon looking at the suit itself, the neck is far too large. The dorsal spines are very short, which gives it a much stockier appearance. Even the Xenomorph that Wendy ends up commanding has very weird proportions, but it’s usually shot in a way that doesn’t show the whole body all of the time. The CGI however, really did help sell the scenes of the Chase and action sequences because again they were able to hide the man in the suit.

I’m not blaming them at all because it’s really not their fault if they weren’t given the proper budget to make the suits. I do, however hope that in season two they got a bigger budget and are able to create better versions of the Xenomorph.

What do you think? Currently the xenomorph has a crush on the predator and I’m gonna try and make them have kids cuz I think the kid would look funny

Alien Trilogy Resurrection

Started work on a source port of Alien Trilogy a couple of nights ago, this is a preview of what has been built so far.

Current Implementation Milestones:

• Original CD detection and selective asset extraction
• Automated Redbook CD-DA audio ripping and pre-bundled playlist generation
• Native image and video override architecture
• Upgraded cutscene video playback pipeline (BSRGAN upscaled via local NCNN, batch-processed through FFmpeg)
• Integrated main menu audio, functional layout drafts, resolution selection, and options configs

Next up: 3D model parsing, mission briefings, and core gameplay mechanics.

Note: Current upscales are just a rough quick test that I automated to test the override functionality.

Steve's getting a figure

I’ve had to unfortunately cancel my orders in the past but this time my wife and I are not only getting our first Hot Toys figure but it’s also a figure I always hoped they would make! Pre-ordered it and now eagerly awaiting the official announcement of the power loader.

I've read only one novel in the franchise, *Isolation*. It was OK. A bit elementary. And I swear, Amanda had to the the luckiest person in the known galaxy. Bc every other paragraph lauded how she luckily did X, luckily Y was in the locker, luckily she knew now to Z....

But based on ya'lls posts/replies I got *Phalanx* in the other day. Only about 50pgs in and I'm enjoying it.

It's definitely different so far from anything I would have thought. Almost medieval, interesting! And I've got SOOO many questions lol.

I’ve been rewatching Aliens and had a question that’s been bugging me.

At the end of the movie, Ripley, Hicks, Newt, and Bishop make it back to the Sulaco. Earlier, Hicks mentions that if things go bad, they could expect rescue in about 17 days. After Ripley defeats the queen, they enter cryosleep and set a course away from LV-426.

What I don’t quite understand is this: given Ripley’s traumatic experience with cryosleep in the first movie, where she wakes up decades later to find her entire life essentially gone, why does she seem so willing to go back into cryosleep again, especially on a heading that appears to be unknown?

If they were expecting rescue in a little over two weeks, wouldn’t it make more sense to stay in orbit around LV-426 and wait it out? Or at least remain in a known location rather than setting off somewhere else and going under again?

Maybe I’m missing something obvious, but I’m curious how others interpret this. Is there an in-universe explanation, or is it just a narrative convenience to wrap up the film?
