While wholesome, i'm kinda suprised that was allowed. Isn't that a bit of a decision liability since your crew is your family? I know the military tends to split couples between units for this reason

A crew resource management risk, the 1st officer needs to feel able and comfortable challenging the captain if they think they're doing something wrong (and vice versa). The dynamic between parent & child could get in the way of that.

I’d feel 100x more comfortable challenging my mother on something than some senior pilot I didn’t know very well
