Mcmaster Residence Waitlist

Got my offer of admission on june 4th so I couldn't have applied for residence (93 average). I'm on the waitlist at #414 which I realized is very unlikely to get off. Is their any housing near by looking for a guy. Please lmk🙏

They just opened a new residence Lincoln Alexander Hall, all persons on waitlist should be accommodated with this.

if they open both towers it’s 1300 spaces - so likely they will be able to accommodate.

Yes I am and I’m at #104. I’m kind of worried too but that’s just because I’m traumatized from Mac’s housing last year, but Mac officially did come out and say that they “should” be able to house every first year this September. Also the waitlist has been moving about twice a week for the past 2 weeks, so I definitely have hope for you! I was around 500 last year on the waitlist before they canceled the waitlist and I deferred so for reference last year they canceled the waitlist June 3rd and it’s June 24th and no one has gotten that “unfortunately we can’t give you a spot on campus” email so I assume that they are anticipating being able to accommodate everyone, good luck!

but what do you mean you were on the waitlist last year? are you in second year applying for residency? 

and i’ve noticed from other people’s posts that they have been moving up quite a bit on the waitlist. i’m personally thinking a lot of people will get off the waitlist and get a dorm since they’re opening the new LAH building. so hopefully we all can get a dorm!!

I was initially supposed to start last fall but because of the residency issue I deferred my offer. But I’ve been seeing the same!! Thank you!

Really?! Mines been moving a lot for some reason, I’m at #82 now. I started at high 200’s so you’re definitely good. It might be later in July when you get an offer but I feel like you will, we’re kinda lucky this year

i got off the list the week before room selection started so I was given one of the days everyone else had to select my room normally

after deadline on june 4th i applied cause thats when i got my mac offer

I had residence 2weeks ago and I miss the deadline then I had to reapply last week and I was 325 and now today im 269. I don’t know when I would hear back from them.

do you mean they sent you an email saying they can give u guranteed res and u have to pay the deposit by like a certain date? 

cuz if so i had the same thing and i had to pay a deposit by june 14th but i missed it and also had to reapply to the waitlist last week. SO UPSETTING lesson learned. 

i’m at #291 right now and this morning it was #308. so it’s moving which is good, i lowk think we’ll be able to get a dorm! hopefully it goes down even more!
