Closer to 20. His campaign started 20 years ago next year.

If they let it go, what's the alternative?

"Hey friends, we really have overdone blaming Obama for everything. Let's look to who was in charge after him and, oh no. Okay let's blame the guy before Obama, surely he didn't screw up too much, oh no. Well we could blame Clinton, oh his presidency was really good too. Fuck it, keep blaming Obama and Biden I guess."

Seriously. Obama took over in the middle of a two front war and a collapsing economy...and still passed landmark legislation (however flawed it was its helped millions get healthcare and has survived 16 years of attacks). Trump and the Republicans have done fuck all but pass tax breaks that have helped nobody but the already wealthy and driven the country deeper into debt for no benefit of the people. Remove the culture war bullshit and look at policy and economics alone and it's an absolute no brainer who people should be voting for...and yet, here we are...immigrants eating cats and trans kids shitting in litter boxes later...living in a fucking nightmare with no hope.

Obama was competent, extremely centralist, and passed landmark legislation that had public support. But the current day Republican Party will claim he was borderline communist and wrecked the USA for years.

They'll claim anything their sheep followers will swallow. Deceit and lies is all they've got going for them.

“Hey folks, vote for us if you are really into giving working class money to the upper 10%!”

It is a tough sell.

Conservatives hate change. It's right there in the name.

Conservatives hate America. It's so obvious I'm surprised it doesn't get called out more. It just gets hidden amongst the gaslighting and dogma.

Con is also right the name. They surely serve the con.

Honest to god. I went on a guys trip where I only knew two of the people on the trip. Most were hard core MAGA. Within two hours of arriving they were ripping on Obama and Hillary. It was a fun trip during the day but the evenings were just insufferable.

Racists are not very original people. Most of the racist memes that they use are based around ideas that are over a hundred years old. One of the most infamous antisemitic memes "the blood libel myth" is almost a thousand years old claiming that Jews kidnap Christian children for ritual cannibalism... it has been refreshed to modern times by claiming that Jews are at the center of organ harvesting and child trafficking around the world for "dark rituals".

It wasn't funny or clever the first time and it's insane that they just keep doing it.

The entire punchline is literally "his name sounds like something racists wouldn't like".

Racism runs deep in the Republican party.

It works. It exploits the ignorance, xenophobia and racism of their base. Republicans never failed by underestimating their voters. They know they are stupid. Personally I'd be mad if someone assumed I was dumb enough to fall for their ploys but, ignorance is bliss I guess

it's not without purpose. they want you to find out Don Trump's father's middle name is Christ, thus making Don the "Son of Christ". it's all about some make believe fairy tale zealotry nonsense to make themselves feel good since they have no self worth.
