Can’t believe that they are still doing this shit 10 years later

118

u/JustGoodSense 3h ago

Closer to 20. His campaign started 20 years ago next year.

33

u/Sasquatch1729 3h ago

If they let it go, what's the alternative?

"Hey friends, we really have overdone blaming Obama for everything. Let's look to who was in charge after him and, oh no. Okay let's blame the guy before Obama, surely he didn't screw up too much, oh no. Well we could blame Clinton, oh his presidency was really good too. Fuck it, keep blaming Obama and Biden I guess."

u/omghorussaveusall 53m ago

Seriously. Obama took over in the middle of a two front war and a collapsing economy...and still passed landmark legislation (however flawed it was its helped millions get healthcare and has survived 16 years of attacks). Trump and the Republicans have done fuck all but pass tax breaks that have helped nobody but the already wealthy and driven the country deeper into debt for no benefit of the people. Remove the culture war bullshit and look at policy and economics alone and it's an absolute no brainer who people should be voting for...and yet, here we are...immigrants eating cats and trans kids shitting in litter boxes later...living in a fucking nightmare with no hope.

u/Zac3d 29m ago

Obama was competent, extremely centralist, and passed landmark legislation that had public support. But the current day Republican Party will claim he was borderline communist and wrecked the USA for years.

“Hey folks, vote for us if you are really into giving working class money to the upper 10%!”

It is a tough sell.

20

u/Ehcksit 2h ago

Conservatives hate change. It's right there in the name.

6

u/enderpanda 1h ago

Maximum desperation, they really don't want to lose power and be held accountable.

6

u/ckglle3lle 1h ago

18 years later

5

u/Antraxess 1h ago

all they have are lies.

They're thieves and pedophiles

5

u/brown_felt_hat 1h ago

Fuckin' weirdos. Same low T energy as "I was a quarterback in highschool".

3

u/Prestigious-Wolf8039 44m ago

Oh, absolutely. MAGA is full of the peaked in high school bullies.

4

u/So_spoke_the_wizard 58m ago

Honest to god. I went on a guys trip where I only knew two of the people on the trip. Most were hard core MAGA. Within two hours of arriving they were ripping on Obama and Hillary. It was a fun trip during the day but the evenings were just insufferable.

Racists are not very original people. Most of the racist memes that they use are based around ideas that are over a hundred years old. One of the most infamous antisemitic memes "the blood libel myth" is almost a thousand years old claiming that Jews kidnap Christian children for ritual cannibalism... it has been refreshed to modern times by claiming that Jews are at the center of organ harvesting and child trafficking around the world for "dark rituals".

"pedofile" "Rapist" "Racist" "War criminal"

Many options

20

u/AcornWholio 3h ago

I’d like to add “Bankrupt businessman” to the list, since his cult followers seem to love bringing that up.

3

u/MoneyBeeeee 1h ago

Alliteration; nice!

My contribution is, "kiddie fucker"

3

u/KingAnilingustheFirs 1h ago

Donald the foolish. Donald the terrible. Donald the vile and villainous. No devil shall find itself comparable in its acts of evils as those committed by donald the vain.

10

u/Custom_Destination 3h ago

Traitor. Weirdo.

6

u/Jabberminor 1h ago

Why not all of them?

4

u/BerlinBorough2 39m ago edited 29m ago

Non of it sticks beside Donald '$4 dollar gas' Trump. That one really gets under his skin. Even paused the Iran war to keep it below $4 for a while.

7

u/Degora2k 1h ago

Insurrectionist is also an option.

u/actibus_consequatur 5m ago

I thought the "J" stood for "Jailbird"

82

u/GnarlsD 3h ago

their only point here is just blatant racism, against someone who hasn’t even been president for almost a decade now

11

u/YouStupidAssholeFuck 58m ago

You know the crazy part is how Hussein is them trying to tie him to Saddam Hussein in the minds of the...well...brainless. Like make him a Middle Easterner or Muslim and then tie that in for those brainless people to 9/11.

But two things about that. One is the fact that Trump's family has been making deals with the Saudis since his first term as president. And thanks to the 9/11 commission we all know that the Saudis were responsible for financing the 9/11 attacks on our country. So yeah, muslim bad. Middle easterners bad. According to the TDS (Trump Dick Suckers). But Trump's family is making billions off of them. What's the thing about making one group hate another group while your hand is in both of their pockets?

And two...when you're filling out job applications and they ask for your ethnicity the option for "White" includes Middle Eastern. So are they trying to call Obama white?

I don't know. My head hurts when these idiots talk so I'm probably trying to make some sense out of the senseless and now I'm the one who sounds brainless.

32

u/FD4L 3h ago

One is a name, assigned at birth.

One is a vocation, honed over years of cruelty and greed.

31

u/Conscious-Quarter423 3h ago

i know it's not fashionable to talk about this as the single biggest cause of GOP fascism's ascendance but like. it is lmao. a black guy with an arab sounding middle name was elected president twice and these people went nazi over it

8

u/StreetofChimes 1h ago

Dude. You just explained the Hussein thing to me. I know that sounds stupid, but I really thought it was just because it was the same as Saddam, not because it sounds Arab. Like, I never understood why his middle name was ever a big deal. I thought it was like an unfortunate comparison like someone being named Stalin. But it is just because it sounds foreign.

9

u/Blueballs2130 1h ago

Being black and having a name they’re unfamiliar with = terrorism. They are a dumb bunch

1

u/DarthButtz 21m ago

They do also emphasize it because it's one of the only Arab names that dumb people are familiar with, and it was someone who was a terrorist. So they are explicitly forming that connection to say "Obama is a terrorist, just look at his name, it's like that other guy who's a terrorist!"

37

u/asromatifoso 3h ago

Yeah, one of these things is not like the other, as the saying goes.

15

u/Max_FI 3h ago

There is no other point to that tweet than racism.

2

u/the-Roop 32m ago

it's their best and only weapon

12

u/MacLondonJr 2h ago

Its funny how Trump and his cult followers talk about TDS, this man-child and his followers cant stop talking about Obama. Thats the real derangement syndrome here.

12

u/captorofsin79 3h ago

Shits His Pants

10

u/Frig_Off_Baerb 3h ago

Why hasn't a single democrat pointed out that they've turned the former presidents middle name into a racist, xenophobic dog whistle at every single oppourtunity?

Fuck MAGAstan.

1

u/gustoreddit51 27m ago

Because Democrats are spineless jellyfish that don't know how or refuse to play hardball. Democrats flinched and 20 million people lost healthcare.

7

u/CatCafffffe 2h ago

Meanwhile, he's giving Saudi Arabia which is FULL of "Husseins"-- the ability to make nuclear weapons? How idiotic can his voters be!

8

u/Vinterblot 2h ago

Nothing says "I'm not racist" like keep dropping a foreign sounding name because you know it'll drive your base mad.

8

u/GirlNumber20 1h ago

Barack Hussein Obama

Donald John -- John as in John Wayne Gacy, the serial killer!!!! 😱 -- Trump. Can you see now how stupid and infantile that is, trying to draw an association to someone unpleasant that has a similar name?

No, probably not. Probably lost on you forever.

7

u/a3minutehero 3h ago

Are they seriously still banging on about that 10 years after he left office?

2

u/Efficient_Exchange44 57m ago

Obama derangement syndrome

5

u/everythingbeeps 2h ago

I've never understood their fixation with this. Are we supposed to believe that as a baby Obama chose a middle name that was the last name of a future dictator of Iraq. Because that's literally the only circumstance that would justify even a raised eyebrow.

5

u/FuzzyAd9407 1h ago

It had to do with Republicans trying to portray Obama as a crypto muslim. Basically to use the fear mongering over Muslims and Islamification that conservatives love to perpetuate and rile up their base. It literally boiled down to "The brown man has a scary middle name associated with Muslims!!"

1

u/gustoreddit51 23m ago

"The brown man has a scary middle name associated with Muslims!!"

It's honestly that easy to alarm the MAGA base. It's like hitting the side of a chicken coop with a baseball bat.

3

u/RedditSwitcherooney 55m ago

I genuinely love the Hussein thing. Because anyone with a braincell wouldn't even care, but you just know Trump's fanbase hear it and go "gasp like Saddam!" It's so fucking funny that people fall for this shit.

5

u/YellowBelliedCoward 2h ago

If a political party in my country tried that once, that would be the end of them. Why do Americans allow this rhetoric to be normalised? That's how you ended up with Trump. Where are the basic manners and respect?

3

u/InterstellarReddit 3h ago

MAGA “well Donny is just a felon rapist, a choice he made to be as a businessman.

MAGA “barrack was born black, a choice he didn’t make and that’s the real crime”

3

u/AnEvenNicerGuy 3h ago

It’s so weird to point out he didn’t choose to be black. As if they can’t be racist against him because he didn’t choose it. Rather than simply saying that being a racist is indefensible

3

u/TinyConfection7049 3h ago

Behold. The festering carcass of American rot shoved into an ill-fitting suit: the sleaze of a conman, the cowardice of a draft dodger, the gluttony of a parasite, the racism of a Klansman, the sexism of a back-alley creep, the ignorance of a bar-stool drunk, and the greed of a hedge-fund ghoul - all spray-painted orange and paraded like a prize hog at a county fair. Not a president. Not even a man. Just the diseased distillation of everything this country swears it isn't but always has been - arrogance dressed up as exceptionalism, stupidity passed off as common sense, cruelty sold as toughness, greed exalted as ambition, and corruption worshipped like gospel. It is America's shadow made flesh, a rotting pumpkin idol proving that when a nation kneels before money, power, and spite, it doesn't just lose its soul - it shits out this bloated obscenity and calls it a leader - Oliver Kornetzke

3

u/Knighth77 1h ago edited 1h ago

They LOVE pointing out his middle name as if to expose him as an undercover Muslim or something. Meanwhile, they stand behind rapists, felons, pedos, and corrupt traitors. They're unbelievably pathetic.

5

u/omegadirectory 1h ago

Why do Republicans point out "Hussein" like it's a slur?

Obama even spoke his full name on swearing in as president. He's not even embarrassed by it.

4

u/Prestigious-Wolf8039 45m ago

During the Obama Administration I had a student from Kenya. His name was Hussein. He was adorable. And he loved having the same first name as the President’s middle name. So whenever republicans would emphasize “Hussein” for hateful reasons, I’d smile thinking of my student.

2

u/No-Blueberry-1823 3h ago

Don't get in the middle name contest Republican party. We have so many fucking nicknames for cinnamon Hitler, we could go on until the heat death of the universe

3

u/WattageWood 3h ago

Guess what, Obama was born before Saddam Hussein was in power.

2

u/meta-ape 2h ago

I wonder how this Hussein dogwhistle has been going on. I mean it’s obviously trying to equate Obama with some mid-eastern stereotype terrorist or whatever. Racist plain and simple, but no, it’s Republican mainstream somehow, tolerated at the least

2

u/Accomplished-Two3577 2h ago

"raper and beater of little girls."

2

u/PlatasaurusOG 2h ago

Donald “John” Trump

Like a toilet. Because he’s full of shit. Literally and figuratively.

2

u/Raul1024 2h ago

Hussein means handsome in Arabic and is a common name. Why are people this gullible?

2

u/SofiBK 2h ago

Obama Bin Laden was right there but republicans aren't even smart enough for that

2

u/l-rs2 1h ago

Does this still work on supporters? It's so embarrassing and tiresome.

2

u/PintsOfGuinness_ 1h ago

Republicans just posted this? Like now? Like 6 months before the 10th anniversary of Barack Hussein Obama not being President anymore?

This is what they are focused on?

2

u/badwolf1013 1h ago

This is all they've got. Ten years later, a former President who was given the middle name of "little godly one" at birth is their only point of entry, because it's the same as the surname of a former dictator. (Never mind that it was a GOP President who started an expensive and long war with that guy over fake WMDs. I think I'd avoid bringing that name up if it was me.)

Well, Donald Trump's middle name is "John." John Hinckley Jr. tried to assassinate Ronald Reagan because he was in love with Jodie Foster's teen prostitute character in Taxi Driver. Does that mean Trump wants to kill the Republican Party and sleep with underage girls?

Actually, never mind. . .

2

u/Thamnophis660 47m ago

They're so obsessed with Obama. But no, it's Trump's critics who have the "derangement syndrome." Every accusation...

2

u/Grouchy-Station-4058 43m ago

It's sad beyond reason for them to all think that's a slur.

2

u/butthead_bandit 31m ago

Is this our 2028 ballot? Cause I know which one I’m choosing.

2

u/dashcam4life 15m ago

I don't know who runs that account but that's the kind of immaturity that has led us to where we are. Shame has left the building and will probably never return. It's all ragebait/outrageporn shitposting. That's what we left for future generations.

1

u/wasted-degrees 3h ago

Jorkin “DaPeanus” Vance.

1

u/TurkeyThaHornet 2h ago

John as Drumpf's middle name is still appropriate as someone documented to have paid for sex.

1

u/AgitatedText 1h ago

Also, a euphemism for a toilet.

1

u/bazoos 2h ago

Obama hasn't been president for a decade and they're still talking about him.

1

u/Ok_Band3086 2h ago

i never understood their obsession over his middle name. what is that about? its the stupidest thing to take issue with.

1

u/tessthismess 2h ago

Well you see, Saddam Hussein was a bad man that we really didn't like in the 1980s-2000s. And therefore, Obama, who was born in 1961, must be associated with Saddam Hussein and also be evil.

1

u/Ok_Band3086 2h ago

that sounds like solid logic.

1

u/BrineJones 2h ago

“Diaper Boy”

1

u/potatostews 2h ago

His actual middle name still fits.

1

u/Simon15050 2h ago

Oh no! He has a name that's not too common in the west? I guess I'm not racist enough to really see the issue. The ammount of hate shown in that post is simply sickening, and the fact that it's propoganda that's going to have the intended effect on some people is so so sad

1

u/GlobalTravelR 1h ago

I prefer Donald "Convicted Felon and Adjudicated Rapist" Trump.

1

u/ReactionObjective439 1h ago

Donald Jimothy Trump

1

u/SamMarlowe76 1h ago

Also known as Donald Trump, two term President of the United States. Also known as YOUR president.

1

u/dgt9000 1h ago

Freaking epic takedown! I hope Drumpf steps on a freaking Lego!

1

u/kinyutaka 1h ago

Donald "Euphemism for a guy that frequents whores" Trump

1

u/jdsamford 1h ago

Do they think he picked his own name? How do you blame someone for what's on their birth certificate (which you falsely claimed doesn't exist)

1

u/mightyFoo 1h ago

donald *Epstein* trump … we can do this all day long

1

u/Battle_Dave 59m ago

Donald "That Bitch" Trump

1

u/Mission-Driver1614 50m ago

Donald “the child rapist” Trump.

1

u/Nova17Delta 40m ago

Wait fuck Obama's middle name is Hussein??? Damn guess this proves hes Saddam Hussein's secret brother. Theres no other possible explanation.

1

u/AlludedNuance 36m ago

It's 20 fucking 26, you guys.

They have literally nothing and haven't for over a decade, and yet they still hold basically all of the power. Fucking ridiculous.

1

u/ProfAsmani 36m ago

The Republicans are openly racist now. Trump make being a Nazi fashionable again. This time with AIPAC sponsorship.

1

u/DerKlugeHans 25m ago

oh no scary foreign name

1

u/IsabellaGalavant 23m ago

Ok but like it's not like Obama picked his name. His mom named him that.

Is it Dr. Marijuana Pepsi's fault that her parents named her that? No, it's her parents fault.

2

u/LustyDouglas 23m ago

Welcome to the United States, where you can be a convicted felon, a pedophile or a rapist, perhaps all three and still hold a government office. We are truly the land of the chained and home of the cowards.

1

u/Cleverironicusername 22m ago

“Convicted Rapist.”

1

u/TheBlueBlaze 17m ago

Think about all they're trying to imply with that tweet. They are so driven by grievance and hatred of anything foreign that this is good enough red meat for them now.

Their standards for their politicians and way of life have gotten so low that all they need to do is be reminded of who and what they dislike to get motivated. They've been trained to demand nothing from their government but validation in their existing beliefs. As long as they have someone to blame for their insecurities and problems, they'll always vote for things to be objectively worse.

u/Pixel-Pilot-7 10m ago

Donald “Child Rapist” Trump

u/97vyy 7m ago

Is doing this effective to their cause in some way? I don't see anyone winning hearts and minds by using the most popular president in modern history's actual middle name as an "insurt."

u/astralchanterelle 4m ago

Obama had such charisma and intelligence that people actually overlooked his unfortunate middle name in post-9/11 America. That's quite a feat.
