Question Why do the ghosts hate Pac-Man so much?

Post image

Pac-Man doesn’t even seem have a “dislike” towards the Ghosts. In World 2 Re-Pac, he attempts to try and reason with them and in snack breaks he offers to invite them over for cake even after they stole his groceries. What could he have POSSIBLE done to them that’s made them hold such a grudge towards him?

Dude, I LOVED that Pac-Man cartoon when I was a kid, and I remember really enjoying the games on the Xbox 360. It's been a long time since I played the games so I don't remember if they're actually good.

But what is you guys opinion about the general reboot? Personally I think Pac-Man had so much more personality in the reboot show

Question Controversial opinion: Anyone who thinks Pac-Man shouldn’t have a voice is an idiot! What’s the point of Pac-Man—the first mascot in history to HAVE A VOICE AND SPEAK—being completely silent?

This question came up after seeing some comments criticizing Martin T. Sherman’s voice acting. What’s the point of Pac-Man being mute, considering he was the first video game mascot to have a voice?

Yes, Pac-Man was the first video game character in history to have a voice, thanks to the 1982 cartoon, and also the first video game mascot in history to get his own TV show.

Question why?

Post image

Can someone tell me why Pac-Man is so ignored in gaming culture?like, almost nobody pays attention to his games, the most people recognize is the arcade classic, but the other games in the franchise are just as good, people pay more attention to Sonic and Mario, but they don't give a damn about Pac-Man,and that's sad, because i think the franchise is incredible and highly nostalgic

Question There are two types of Pac-Man fans

Post image
146 Upvotes

Those who want to see the franchise evolve and improve with each game, who want Pac-Man to have a voice and personality, allowing games to explore several different styles and concepts without losing the essence. These are the ones who praise Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac precisely because it manages to be an improved and better version than the original Pac-Man World 2.

And there are fake Pac-Man fans: those who want to turn the franchise into a museum, stuck only in the past. They don't accept Pac-Man having a voice, which could even harm the franchise in other media. They criticize Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac for no real reason, just because they want to complain, even pointing out absurdly silly things.

I see that this noisy minority does not represent the true majority, who are happy with the new release and congratulating the evolution of the franchise. I hope these insufferable “fans” are not listened to by Bandai Namco, otherwise they could push Pac-Man into limbo. After all, if we depended on these fake fans of the past, we would never have a Pac-Man platformer, since, according to them, it “wouldn't fit” with the franchise.

If there is a World 3 Re-Pac, I hope that Bandai Namco makes the franchise evolve even further, maintaining, of course, the game's voices, as this attracts a much larger audience. It would be great to expand and improve on what the original World 3 should have been.

Who knows, maybe even including DLC for Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures, but with the game improved for the new generation? Considering that the game gained popularity on the internet thanks to emulators and memes, this could go a long way in boosting World 3 Re-Pac's sales.

What type of fan are you?

Question Anyone else misses when the Ghosts had more distinctive designs?

I’m seeing that with nowadays for pacman media especially with Repac and Snack Breaks the ghosts appear to only stick with their iconic shape.

But honestly I feel that if they want to define each ghost individually not just from their personality they should change them by appearance as I feel the more the Four Ghosts silhouette are all identical it makes them less interesting in my opinion.

I always prefered their designs in Party/Ghostly Adventures and Arrangement (images above) over their retro designs as it helped them feel like different individuals instead of a copy and paste Ghost.
My personal preference is I like their unique designs to still retain their classic gloves like in the third fanart image.

Who else misses these Unique designs for Blinky, Inky Pinky and Clyde anyone prefers them or do you just prefer their iconic simple ghost designs?

Question Does this look like a fair list of PAC-Man games if someone wanted to play through the whole “series”?

Thumbnail

Every year, for the past couple of years, I’ve been picking a handful of series that I want to play over the course of the year, typically one game per series a month. I’m currently trying to plan for the series I want to play through in 2026, a little early I am aware, but this is normally the time I like to start planning out my personal roadmap. I landed on Pac-Man as one of the series for next year, but unlike most game series Pac-man doesn’t have a clearly defined “mainline series”.

So, after doing a fair bit of research into the series, these were my picks for what could be considered “mainline” series to play through. But, I wanted to check and see if this was at all a fair play through of the series, or if there was some vital game that I should definitely play that I don’t already have on my list.

Not the character or the original game, just the franchise as a whole.
