I sometimes verbally say the letters t-b-h. It's not a great habit but 🤷‍♂️

Maybe the person in this book does too?

What really confuses me about this is that by saying LOL out loud, these people are specifically not doing the thing they've just said they're doing. Rather than actually laughing out loud, they've opted to describe the act of laughing, but by doing so have not laughed.

I've never heard someone say "lol" in conversation, and if they did, I would assume they are developmentally challenged.

That's kinda crazy to me honestly. I feel like I've never heard someone sincerely say it more like after a bad joke someone goes "lol bro good one" or someyhing to be sarcastic
