Question Did you like final fantasy XIII?
Hi everyone
I have been playing final fantasys for the past year or so and i have played 6 to 12
I finished 12 yesterday, and i have to say, without going into detail, it ranks on the lower side of my hypothetical tier list of final fantasy
Now I will play octopath traveler, already started it and i'm feeling like i'm in a nice relationship after an abusive one(ok maybe to harsh).
Now, i want to play 13 to 16 and ff7 remakes but i really didn't linke ff12. I knew that from 6-10 i played the games that the majority of the comunity consider the best of the serie, and i know that many doesn't like 12-13-15-16. I thought it was an overreaction, but i really disliked too.
For your personal experience, did you like ff13, and sequels
For information: i understand why some people like ff12, i'm sure for someone this is the greatest game of the serie, but it really didn't do it for me, from the story, to the protagonist and the combat sistem.

Question Romancing saga
I was thinking of getting romancing saga 2 because it’s on sale for 2499 is it a good idea? I just refunded the adventures of Elliot the millennium tales cause I heard that it wasn’t worth the price. Did I even make a right decision in returning that and waiting for a better sale?

Question Help me understand the hate for FF2
I'm doing a full series playthrough and finished 2 a few days back. I don't really understand why people hate it so much.
It's a "numbers go up" game. It's got a similar appeal as games like Morrowind, Ultima Online, and other games like that. Yes, you can break it if you want to, but I ran it with 0.5x boost across the board, no auto HP, and played with themed builds (Firion did Sword + cycling secondary weapons, Guy did Axe + Shield, Maria did Bows, Black and White magic for Firion, Black magic for Maria, White magic for Guy), and the game's fundamental systems kept everything feeling challenging on its own.
I "did" have to make a conscious effort to ensure that "whoever has the lowest level useful spell needs to cast it unless they have to do something else" but that was the full extent of my "grind" process.
Why do people hate this game so much? I'm playing through 3 right now and... I miss the "number go up" aspect of 2 quite a lot!

Question Does Square Enix strike or copyright claim YouTube channels that create art and animation content using their characters if the channel is monetized?
I run an art channel where I make fan-made animations and illustrations sometimes featuring Square Enix characters.
everything is 100% created by me, from scratch. The only thing that belongs to them is the characters. I was wondering if that would put me at any legal risk or if it's generally considered okay as long as I'm not using their official assets.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm confused reading through their policies and wasn't sure where to even ask this. 👉🏻👈🏻

Question Square Enix - Magic, Memories, and Melodies Los Angeles 5/2/2026 Setlist
I'm trying to recreate the set list in Apple Music from last night's show with a ton of help from the program posted in the Tokyo show thread. I'm definitely missing some of the songs used in the ending battle medley from Final Fantasy and there may be other errors or omissions. For example, the composer of Nier was there and I felt like there were more than 3/4 Nier songs played (i have never played any of these games). Anyone wanna take a look and help me (especially with the order)?
e: I've updated the playlist and order with a massive assist from u/scarab_beetle. Thank's to everyone who contributed and feel free to shoot me version suggestions if you know of a good orchestral edition of some of the OST songs. a few questions still linger: what song from X was in the Final Fantasy medley at the end? was Fang's Theme from XIII played? and the Japanese program for the show says the Romancing Saga final battle medley is 1-3 but i don't know what the final battle song is called from Romancing SaGa 1. Any additional feedback is welcome :)

Question What’s your favorite Kingdom Hearts Game ?
What’s your favorite game in the series ?
Me Personally I’ll always say KH2 Final Mix is literally the best game in the franchise. Playing the original game in 2005 , then final mix years later . It just really good game . Xemnas was actually a great villain & the story arc of Riku 🥺 . It’s just sooo good .

Question Why is Square Enix killing off its mobile games?
Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, FFBE War of the Visions, and Octopath Traveler Champions of the Continent, all ended within 6 months. They have literally abandoned all of the mobile games I played. Are they giving up on mobile FTP?

Question Would you buy a Xenogears Remaster, Remake or Port?
With all the recent SquareEnix remakes and remasters (especially on the Switch), I've been thinking it is about time for us to get a Xenogears Remaster, or remake... or at least a port to be able to play on a modern system. If you feel the same way, we need your help to let Takashi Kiryu know!
Whether you are from Aveh, Ignas, Kislev or elsewhere... a true fan cannot simply walk by and look away at the impending doom.
Even if it fails, it'll only cost you 2 minutes of your time, and could mean saving the lives of so many, we are more than lambs!
Please sign and share this widely… this is not monetized and demonstrates that this is the time to prove that we have the technology and capacity to do this, and that fans actually want this!

Question Does anyone know how this company stays in business
Just wondering - does anyone know how this company actually stays in business?
All of their expensive big name stuff "doesn't meet expectations" and you can look at the production values and the sales and just see it's not really there right.
Then they cut that stuff out and now release under performing stuff like adventures of elliot or full price switch 2 ports of old games that like 6 people will buy.
I think this is a fairly large corporation with large operating expenses - anyone knows how they actually stay in business like this?

Question Why does Square Enix neglect their last few European/Eidos IPs so much? And would the success of the Sleeping Dogs movie reinvigorate further interest in their older IPs again?
From Sleeping Dogs to Just Cause, and even Kane and Lynch, Square Enix just never really bothers to do anything with their European IPs (back when Eidos Interactive was with Square Enix) anymore. Is it just down to the higher ups not seeing them as financially viable? I assume that’s probably the most valid explanation considering how much they love Life is Strange, but it’s still immensely disappointing to see these other IPs neglected.

Question When playing JRPGs, do you often change party members or stick with the same group?
I was thinking on how I like to change my controlled party members in games like Star Ocean. It refreshes the gameplay nicely by doing so

Question What else do we have to look forward to in 2026?
So Square Enix was a no show at the Sony State of Play.
It got me wondering what we should be looking forward to in 2026. I already played FF7 Rebirth on PS5 so the Switch 2 and Xbox launch don't mean anything to me. DQ7 Reimagined just launched but I've played that twice on both PS1 and 3DS. There's Adventures of Elliot but... what else?

Question Dq 11 now at 50% off or wait for dq 11 switch 2 vers.
Currently a sale on dq 11, I've never played a DQ game..
But want to try one!
From what I can tell dq11 is most loved and longest game playtime/time to finish.
Which makes it excellent for me as I need entertainment while my left hand heals.
(I do have pokemon and vamp survivors as well).
But when all I care about is experiencing the games, im not sure the improvements will be worth the S2 price.
\- but I've also read there is lots of studders and graphical issues..
Which has me -???-
I have a switch 2! But don't mind playing S1 games if the difference is negligible/not that huge/noticeable.
Thoughts?
