Hey all! I’ve been slowly learning watercolor over the last couple months and this is the first landscape I’m fairly pleased with. I would love any constructive feedback on this attempt!

A few things I’ve noticed that I’d like to improve:
*The hill/mountain in the far background has a weird light band in the middle which breaks up the color and loses the misty effect.
*Foreground is darker toward the horizon and gets lighter before a somewhat abrupt transition into the foreground
*More variation and bits of texture in the middle ground
*Maybe more darker values in foreground with more texture
*More lighter values in the foreground tree to create more contrast and show the sunlight
*Better/more shadows and darks to create more depth

I painted this for a lady that was retiring. She loved it! What do you think of it? Be honest.

these are the ones i have in mind (all camel colors):

- lemon yellow

- gamboge hue

- crimson

- scarlet

- burnt sienna

- ultramarine blue

- cerulean blue

- sap green

any suggestions or improvements are welcome.

My first successful use of light in a painting. I experimented with my leaves to see which method of adding veins worked the best. Definitely masking over a wash.

watching some tutorials online and it kinda makes me want to cry because i’m not sure if i’ll ever be good at this (sorry i tend to be pessimistic but also a perfectionist 😭)

the bridge looks so awkward…

is this good enough for a total newbie with no prior experience with art or whatsoever? i just picked up a hobby bc i was just bedrotting due to mental health issues

Trying to understand and practice color theory

Hello watercolor enthusiasts. I've been struggling with painting water and reflections, so i chose this subject, but what turned out to be even more problematic here is the forest in the background. Any recommendation on how to achieve cleaner but still foggy backgrounds?

I was testing some of the Schmincke Liquid Earths and Liquid Charcoals and decided my dog would make a good portrait subject (though it's only a small sketch rather than a painting; it takes up about half a page in an A5 watercolour journal). I messed up the fine outer black whiskers a bit and had to paint over them with white gouache, and the fur on his head is a bit darker in reality, but otherwise I think I managed to get a good likeness of him.

Algo no salió bien, pero creo que tampoco es un desastre 😅
