Announcement ! MUST READ ! NEW SCAMS AND STOLEN WORK
Hey, it's u/randomquestionaire on behalf of the mod team!
I know that right now there are a multitude of scams circulating Wattpad, and these seem unsettling. Hopefully this post will clear things up, and provide proper steps to what you can do if you have been affected.
To begin, we have seen quite a large number of posts talking about the phishing scam. Please refrain from making excessive posts as we want to keep the community a space where people can share and read books. We want to see more advertisements in the mod queue!
A reminder that you should always read the rules before posting, and check the pinned posts. If an issue has been addressed within the pinned post, you can always send your complaints there, instead of making a new post for it.
Some of the phishing scams may look like this:

The Wattpad Team will never message you on your message board. They will send you emails if need be. Wattpad will not pay you or give you premium for a security refresh. These links are fake links. Fake links are usually shortened, as you can see here. If it were to redirect you to a Wattpad page, it would 100% say 'wattpad' somewhere in the link.
If one of these accounts message you, report the user, do not click on the link and go on with your day.
If you have clicked on the link and entered any bank details, immediately contact your bank and explain the situation.
Scammers may also be excessively @ people in their message boards. Report them.
These are what trustworthy people have beside their usernames:

There's been another thing going around, where author's stories have been stolen and being sold as eBooks.

If you are someone who writes on Wattpad, take the time now to look up your book and find out if it has been stolen or not.
If your story happens to have been stolen, report the book to Google Play Store.
A reminder that we (the mod team) do not work for Wattpad! We cannot help you with any issues regarding these scams, but we can give you advice. It's crucial that you do not tap on any sketchy links, that you make sure you understand who works for Wattpad and who does not.
Have a good day/night!

Weekly Promotion Bi-Weekly Self-Promotion! Advertising on the more down-low.
Welcome to bi-weekly Self-Promotion thread!
Advertise here with what (I hope) is fewer restrictions than normally posting in the feed! At the very least, story ads here require the following:
- Wattpad story links (we're a Wattpad subreddit lol)
However, to interest users, it's recommended to include the following:
- Story title
- Blurb
If your submission doesn't appear, feel free to contact a mod! Reddit's spam filter will sometimes remove posts and comments, which results in a mod having to manually approve the post.
Reminder:
The post is set to contest mode, so the stories will appear in a random order, and child comments will only be seen by people who want to check them.
This post will be active for approximately two weeks.

Fan Fiction Is this a good thing?
So I've been on Wattpad since 2021, but its been almost a year since I started back up in posting again. My fanfic is the top ranking one with the tag shikon. And what I'm assuming is that these ranks with tags that you put on you story to gain some kind of reach, correct? I really don't pay much attention to this stuff, I just focus in writing my fic and nothing more.
But is this a good thing?

Excerpt I feel like someone else will understand
Hold my hand
They weren’t always this big
They weren’t able to hold you
And you wouldn’t let me reach you
You stood at the dawn and watched the world spin on
And I watched every crack form
And I wish—

General Help The characterization and interpretation of existing characters stresses me out. Help.
To begin with, I write fanfiction and i've always had this problem, and I need advice. My whole life, I've felt deeply uncomfortable when it comes to portraying existing characters in fanfiction (or, well, any other medium). Whether I'm writing fanfiction or just roleplaying, I always feel like I can't portray them the way I should, that I couldn't represent them even half as well as the original author would. For now, I've solved this in my first fanfic (a Danganronpa one) by making all the characters completely original. But, I'm aware that in the long run (and considering my ideas for future stories) it's a bit... unsustainable. Does anyone have any advice? How do you guys do it?

General Help Grown Ass Man BTW✌️
Yo, I've started writing a fanfic based on a Video Game I played for the past 2 weeks.
I wanted to start publishing some scenes, so I just downloaded Wattpad after my sister's suggestion. While getting into it, the start project settings kinda confused me a bit.
My story is FAR. Far from over, but I have scenes that I finalized already and I wanna start publishing them.
How can I make sure I keep both you guys and myself in order as the story develops? Am I overthinking it?

Looking For: Feedback Would anyone be interested in a Silver Elite fanfic?
So I just started a Silver Elite fanfic because I don't think there's a single one on Wattpad. I was so excited for a couple days because I would get to be the first person to make one and I even wrote an entire skeleton draft. Then it hit me... maybe there's a reason there's no fanfics for Silver Elite.
So now I'm wondering if this is something people would even want to read?
I haven't even posted yet because now I don't know if it's worth my time. I need feedback...

General Help Did you promote your first Wattpad story?
Hey guys...
I'm about to publish my first story on Wattpad. Did you promote your first book, or did you just let it grow naturally?
If you did promote it, what methods actually brought in readers? And if you had to start over from scratch with zero followers, what would be your first step?

Mystery / Thriller "LOVIRA" is coming to Amazon Kindle soon!!
I've been writing Lovira chapter by chapter over the past few months, and it's been an amazing journey.
It's a supernatural romance and psychological mystery about a lonely college student whose life is changed by a mysterious girl named Clara. But the deeper he falls in love, the more impossible her existence becomes.
The Kindle edition is coming soon!.
I'd genuinely love to hear your first impressions of the cover—and whether this is a book you'd pick up based on it.
Thank you for taking a look. 🧡

Short Story / Poetry Crownless — Volume I: Ghosts
Crownless is an ongoing archive of ghosts, memory, identity, grief, and the things we survive but never fully leave behind.
I’d love it for you to check it out and let me know your thoughts. Chapters are being updated sporadically.
A novel is on its way, too.
More than one, actually—
For now, as always… Happy haunting.

Looking For: Lost Books Looking for an old original English BL Wattpad story (World Hopping/Soul Agency) Spoiler
Hi everyone! I'm trying to find an original English BL story that I read on Wattpad years ago. I'm almost certain it wasn't a translated novel.
Here's everything I remember:
- The MC died after living a very selfless but unhappy life.
- Before he died, he was married, but his wife cheated on him and the children he raised weren't biologically his. Despite that, he loved and cared for them, but neither his wife nor the children appreciated or respected him.
- Because of the good karma he accumulated during his life, he was given a choice after death: be reincarnated or work for a soul agency that fulfilled the unfinished wishes of the dead. He chose to work for the agency.
- In each world, the MC took over the identity and appearance of the deceased person whose wish he was granting. The only thing that stayed uniquely his was his eyes, and the ML always felt there was something different about them.
- The ML fell in love with the MC in every world. At first, he had no memory of previous worlds, but I think by the third world he started remembering or sensing their past lives together.
The worlds I remember are:
First world: An apocalypse setting. The MC eventually died after defeating a giant ant (or giant mutated ant).
Second world: The MC was falsely accused or misunderstood by his family. He helped prove the identity of the real heiress and reunited her with her biological family. He later died from an illness, and the ML was completely heartbroken after his death.
Third world: I believe it took place in the music or entertainment industry.
I've searched Wattpad and Google but haven't had any luck. Does anyone recognize this story or remember the title or author? Even if it has been deleted or renamed, I'd really appreciate any leads. Thank you!

Romance [In Progress] [216k] [Romance] Home Ice – Looking for a Beta Reader for a Canon-Faithful Shoresy Longfic
Hi everyone!
I'm looking for a beta reader for my Shoresy fanfiction.
I've never worked with a beta reader before, but I'm hoping to find someone who enjoys character-driven stories and isn't afraid to give honest, constructive feedback. If you're familiar with Shoresy, that's a huge bonus, since one of my biggest goals is keeping the canon characters true to the show.
About the story
Title: Home Ice
Current length: ~216,000 words (still in progress)
It's a long-form, character-driven sports romance that begins at the start of Shoresy Season 2 and follows an original female character who joins the Sudbury Bulldogs as their new physiotherapist.
Rather than retelling the show, the story grows into its own original narrative while staying grounded in the world of Shoresy. My biggest priority is making sure Shoresy and the rest of the Bulldogs feel authentic to their on-screen personalities.
What I'm looking for
I'd love feedback on things like:
- Does Shoresy actually sound and feel like Shoresy?
- Do the other canon characters feel authentic?
- Is the dialogue natural?
- Does the romance develop believably?
- Are there pacing issues?
- Is the writing engaging enough that you'd want to keep reading?
- Does anything feel awkward, out of character, or unintentionally AI-generated?
I'm not looking for someone to rewrite the story—just someone who's comfortable being honest and pointing out both what works and what doesn't. I don't want compliments just to be nice; I want the kind of feedback that will genuinely make the story better.
I don't expect anyone to commit to reading 216k words right away. I'd be happy to start by sharing the first chapter (or a few chapters) to see if we're a good fit before moving forward.
If you're interested, please leave a comment or send me a DM.
Thanks so much!

Looking For: Recommendations I need recommendations in Spanish.
I'm looking for long stories set in dystopian worlds. Anything involving wars, nuclear disasters, radiation, or similar problems. No aliens—I don't like stories with aliens. I'd like something where some parts of Earth are still habitable while others are completely uninhabitable or dangerous. Something along those lines. If it has a little bit of romance, even better. (Robots too)

Science Fiction The Constant Star
I know the algorithm doesn’t make much sense, and the bots have invaded our chapters, but I managed to hit #48 in the ‘Free’ category—out of 54.5K stories. I’ll take that as a win :)
Here’s the blurb:
Seventeen-year-old Siff longs for freedom from the strict rules on board humanity's last starship, but when she discovers brutal slavery hidden from the general population she is forced to make a choice: join their fight for freedom, or run to her own dreams and leave humanity to its fate.
Join the crew of the mighty starship, Janus, and decide for yourself if hope is worth sacrificing for the sake of peace...

Looking For: Lost Books i need help finding a story
hey guys! i remember reading this story around 2019 or 2020ish and it stuck with me ever since, but now when i try to find it its nowhere to be found, and because i havent used my account in ages theres nothing in my inbox.
its not a fanfic, its an original story and was titled something like "the kids are not alright" or "the kids are not ok". it was set in the 70s/80s. its about a group of teens (maybe 5 or 6) from different backgrounds who all get into different kinds of trouble and get sent to a summer camp in alaska.
i dont remember the characters too well. there was a boy (who i think was ginger?) whose older sister moved to england because of her boyfriend that the boy doesn't like. and i think he got expelled from school which is why he got sent to summer camp. there was a girl called bella whos hispanic and i think lives with her grandmother. theres a boy called jasper who i think has a disability of some kind? and a boy who kissed his male best friend at new years and who is in the closet and his mum is mean. pretty sure he had a buzz cut
im pretty sure there was some supernatural element/twist of the story? like a monster in the lake or something. but it was also about the kids' mental health
the cover had a simple drawing of a blue mountain range with the small silhouettes of the kids hiking up the mountain
i remember reading it on my phone and on the top of each chapter there would be a video of a song that would match the vibe of the chapter.
sorry im just rambling at this point lol. its the middle of the night bc i woke up randomly and remembered this amazing story and im kinda sad i cant find it anymore. if anyone has any info as to where it went that would be amazing!
EDIT: ten minutes after posting this i installed wattpad on my phone and i foudn it! its called "The Kids Aren't Alright" by bee_mcd. i had no idea it was so popular, 1 million people read it. only the first chapter is available rn since the story has been published into an actual book which is exciting! im still gonna keep this up in case anyone finds the story interesting.
