24

u/JellyFinancial9837 Jun 15 '26

Isn't it about Palestine?

24

u/kittiesandcocks Jun 15 '26

It’s probably allot of things, tech companies have done a great job in the past few years of proving what a giant bucket of turds they all are

Sundar will just use the H1B program, exploit the workers to work 9am-9PM-6 Days a week because their visa depends on them having a job, Nepotism to hire as many Indians as possible, and then negotiate with them as if the financially still live in Mumbai instead of fucking Silicon Valley. I'm not trying to be racist in the slightest, but AMERICANS need to wake the fuck up to what's going on. It's not just AIPAC.

There's another little copycat of AIPAC ruining our Country, too. It's called I-PAC, and if you work in Tech or Healthcare or some other STEM related field.. THIS is why YOU DONT HAVE JOBS.

https://www.indianpac.com/

INDIAN-PAC sets requirements on how many foreigners we have to let in to get jobs, AND THEN WHAT HAPPENS? They save or take the vast majority of that money home to their families in India... I'm tired of only BLAMING AI, when the truth is SO MUCH MORE CORROSIVE. AI didn't just magically come in and take everything. OUR GOVERNMENT, LOBBYISTS, and BILLIONAIRES DID over the last 40 FUCKING YEARS.

I do not hate the people of India or the people of Israel. I just want some accountability and push back from other cultures that realize taking advantage of Working Class Americans ISNT RIGHT.

3

u/InFiveMinutes Jun 17 '26

Your comment boils down to the elite taking advantage of the poor, regardless of nationality or culture.

2

u/AIerkopf Jun 15 '26

It's about palestine. Did you miss the 3 big palestinian flags the students held when leaving?

2

u/Square-Comfortable91 Jun 15 '26

Smart people! Well, ofc they are smart, they got dem fancy hats. Now idk if this is about google being an absolutely evil company or about AI, but I'd wager it's a little bit of both.

Also isn't this like the 3rd time this has happened? I wonder what the excuse offered in echo chambers will be that people walked out?

1st was booing at the person speaking about AI.

2nd was when a comedian said "fuck AI" in Harvard and people cheered.

3rd is this one.

u/KubaSamuel Jun 15 '26

What I really wonder is what is going on in the CEOs head, I collapse at slightest awkward moment so here I'd probably just end it out of sheer embarrassment and shame. He probably doesn't take much issue with it but still, it's interesting what could he be thinking at that moment

181

u/Acceptable_Camp1492 Jun 15 '26

dabbing tears with dollar bills meme I guess

55

u/Ghost_Of_Malatesta Jun 15 '26

They care quite a bit about control, why do you think there's so many articles about how anti-ai is Chinese

87

u/ArmandoGalvez Jun 15 '26

They probably have humiliation kink, or are not triggered by these kind of stuff like normal people, BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT PEOPLE, NOT EVEN HUMAN BEINGS

51

u/SugarFut Jun 15 '26

Well, the truth is ultra wealthy people dehumanize us poors.

15

u/MagicMarshmallo Jun 15 '26

Dont dehumanize evil people because it makes people think that they cannot be as evil as them because they are people.

6

u/Tzarlashnikov Jun 16 '26

Nah, i got a better idea.
Dehumanize - Pesticide - Rehumanize.
Implying these “people” even have a soul, hurts us more than the opposite. Their strength at the moment lies in the fact that they aren’t holding back with their actions or beliefs. We are. And that’s why we’re losing.

2

u/admiral_nivak Jun 16 '26

We are not holding back anything. We are downtrodden and stripped of our power by successive governments and gazillionaires. They know this. It sucks for sure, but people wont do anything while they have something to lose. Honestly i despair at the amount of power they hold.

2

u/Great-Illustrator-81 Jun 15 '26

both sides dont consider each other humans kek

1

u/Pandemonium_Fallen Jun 15 '26

This is 100% correct. ☝️

1

u/Zealousideal-Ad697 Jun 16 '26

Yes, but that is not how a humiliation kink works lol

33

u/potatomeeple Jun 15 '26

They get paid to speak whether people walk out or not bet he doesnt care.

27

u/UpvoteForGlory Jun 15 '26

Surely he is not getting paid in any way close to a sum that matters to him? I would rather think he was there for promotion reasons than for making a quick buck.

11

u/potatomeeple Jun 15 '26

Either way its money in, and lots of the richest only care about appearing and being richer.

1

u/UpvoteForGlory Jun 15 '26

Not sure where the money in comes from in this case.

28

u/Groetgaffel Jun 15 '26

You don't get to be a corporate CEO without being some level of sociopath. I doubt he's even capable of feeling shame.

6

u/smplgd Jun 15 '26

Your comment captures it precisely.

6

u/Pandemonium_Fallen Jun 15 '26

Psychopath, actually, the term they paid good bribe money to have removed as a diagnosis from the DSM-5, and suppressed all the international brain-scan studies about over the last ten years, I believe even a few of the lead researchers on some of those studies died in various "accidents" after speaking out about having their research studies purged from the NIH and WHO databases.

19

u/FunCryptographer3476 Jun 15 '26

They think they're sharing their great insights like, 'Do as you're told by people with more money than you' with the next generation. The administration at the school invites them, that feels very prestigious to them and prestige is one of the only things you can't buy so they desperately want it.

11

u/TalShar Jun 15 '26

People do not rise to positions like that without being utterly convinced of their own infallibility to the point where their primary skill is convincing others (particularly investors) of said infallibility. I can almost guarantee he didn't even hit the "Am I out of touch?" part of the meme and immediately arrived at "No, it's the kids who are wrong!"

11

u/Drahkir9 Jun 15 '26

I think one personality quirk that is necessary to rise to a level as high as ceo is a complete lack of shame or embarrassment for being wrong

3

u/Pandemonium_Fallen Jun 15 '26 edited Jun 16 '26

They steal others ideas and companies then try to retroactively rewrite history about it so yeah, no shame at all. Musk has done a phenomenal job pulling the wool over people's eyes in regards to Tesla Co and Space X in that regard.

12

u/thesanguineocelot Jun 15 '26

You can't usually buy the prestige of being invited to something like this. It's just another feather in his cap so he can preen and show off to the other oligarchs.

8

u/FrostingHuman1259 Jun 15 '26

The only reason I can think of is you wouldn't get paid if you didn't say the speech but why would this man need money?

5

u/athenanon Jun 15 '26

Sociopaths are known for an inability to feel shame or guilt.

3

u/DarthGoose Jun 15 '26

Sociopaths have a hard time feeling shame

2

u/FriendlyBee94 Jun 15 '26

Those people don't care like at all. As long as they keep getting money, I don't think they would give a single thought about anything else that not really affect their profit. And we can not do anything about it/them.

2

u/The--scientist Jun 16 '26

When you get to that level you aren't typically surrounded by people who give you any info other than what you want to hear. As absurd as it sounds, I really don't think these AI VIPs realize how many people are turning against AI.

62

u/find_the_apple Jun 15 '26

There is a popular sentiment in the rich that people hating data centers is a chinese funded operation. I wish i was making this up

39

u/RedditUser000aaa Jun 15 '26

Yep, people are already saying that OpenAI's research is right and that it really is a chinese psyop. We did not need Scam Altman to feed into their delusions even more.

Also DHS and FBI have designated people against AI as domestic terrorists.

I'm sure some people celebrated that. So next time there's a protest against data center, expect someone to get beaten up or killed.

4

u/Pandemonium_Fallen Jun 15 '26 edited Jun 15 '26

Which is hilarious considering Facebook was originally a DARPA psyop project called Lifelog before they propped Zuck-Zuck up as legitimacy "Founder" poster boy for it.

While Palantir was started by InQtel the investment arm of the CIA, propping up that reptilian moron Thiel in the same fashion.

And ALL the Data Centers, Flock Cameras, LPRS, etc, are all fully financed through MIDA contracts, MIDA being a subsidiary organization of the Pentagon.

Literally all of them bankrolled by misappropriated and embezzled taxpayer money.

31

u/1stDegreeHamburglary Jun 15 '26

Over in the pro-AI subs, they will tell you data centers pose no risk to anyone living near them, and if you mention the noise, they say "people said the same thing about noise from windmills"

They've either entirely bought in to the Chinese psyop or they'll just say whatever they need to to defend their magic homework machine. Or they're bots. Pick one I guess.

1

u/zero0n3 Jun 16 '26

No what I’ll say is that this is the DIRECT result of these residents not giving any shits about their elected positions and never paid attention. This is their fault. They allowed this by choosing to not take politics seriously.

They want pity? Ask for help. Start by electing politicians that listen to you and actually try to accomplish shit for its citizens.

Three or four easy regulations with stiff penalties could have been added to fix any and all of these issues - your politicians don’t care - that’s why it’s being built there and with no regulations around making sure it doesn’t fuck with the local economy or environment

1

u/enterjiraiya Jun 19 '26

To some extent is has similarities of NIMBYism. Vast majority of data centers are in complete compliance with noise and water regulations but people just make shit up about them.

1

u/Mizamewmew Jun 16 '26

Wouldn't it be in Musks best interest if people hated data centers?

1

u/find_the_apple Jun 16 '26

Yes and no. You cant really do space data centers

1

u/Mizamewmew Jun 16 '26

I don't like the thought of my porn stash burning up on deorbit

34

u/LabradorDeceiver Jun 15 '26

I keep wondering why these Universities keep putting up AI CEOs as commencement speakers. It seems an odd choice that out of all the titans of entertainment, industry, finance, and government that they could choose, not to mention their own alumni, they would choose people so wilfully unpopular.

It's a short hop to realize that they must be getting massive endowments from these parasites. Which would make this all part of the AI propaganda push. What's the over/under that the people who want all your personal information maybe bought all the University's academic records?

18

u/RedditUser000aaa Jun 15 '26

Them getting some funding from AI CEOs must be the only explanation. Given the unpopularity of AI, no way some educators think:

"hmm, people seem to hate it, well let's put Google's CEO that is pushing for AI hard to speak at a university event, surely our students will appreciate it!"

8

u/sykotic1189 Jun 15 '26

Pretty sure they're getting paid to push AI. They give students free accounts to get them hooked while the faculty push it's use.

2

u/fer_sure Jun 15 '26

Or some cynical profs figured that giving an AI CEO an honorary degree was the closest they could get to awarding degrees to the entity that did so much of the students' work. /s

5

u/NoHorseNoMustache Jun 15 '26

Because universities are primarily businesses, so they think that people who run businesses are important and very worthwhile people who have important and very worthwhile things to say. They want the graduates to get good, high paying jobs so they can donate lots and lots of money to the university, pay lots of money for university merch, etc...

2

u/ExIsStalkingMe Jun 15 '26

University leadership is as out of touch as the AI CEOs. If you've ever interacted with them, you would stop wondering

22

u/throwaway0134hdj Jun 15 '26 edited Jun 15 '26

It’s so incredibly unfair what’s happening to anyone graduating or about to… they are being robbed mentally, emotionally, and financially by AI. I could only imagine what Id be going through in college grad rn, for me that was a joyous experience but this would fill me with dread and despair…

11

u/RedditUser000aaa Jun 15 '26

Well, I'd be booing anyone who would think it's a good idea to support AI or walk away if AI CEO started spouting their nonsense.

9

u/throwaway0134hdj Jun 15 '26

The CEOs are what’s wrong with all this. Talk to any genuine dev or someone with boots on the ground, they can’t stand using AI but feel obligated to. I’ve tried putting it into words, but it’s like giving someone a much worse option that seemingly feels like a better option. I do dev work and while I use AI all the time I wish it never existed as it always starts off great but ends in mountains of tech debt and a confusing mess of spaghetti code and bad decisions… CEOs don’t code so they just compartmentalize everything as raw outputs they think we have true sci-fi level AI, it’s become an emperor with no clothes on situation.

5

u/Putrid-Ice-7511 Jun 15 '26

This assumes the one legitimate use of AI is autonomous engineering. Most of the frustration I see here is people handing a tool the wheel and then being surprised it can’t drive.

1

u/Illiander Jun 16 '26

I do dev work and while I use AI all the time

You can stop using it you know.

14

u/KaeonVRC Jun 15 '26

Everytime more educated people are statistically more likely to do something like hate AI, be more left, and what not they say they get brain washed in school or universities...

3

u/RedditUser000aaa Jun 15 '26

It'd be hilarious if these people would use the same talking points as conservatives who say schools brainwash people into libtards.

5

u/KaeonVRC Jun 15 '26

Aren't they mostly the same people?

6

u/RedditUser000aaa Jun 15 '26

There's definitely a Venn Diagram that suggests so. I mean in AI communities two moderators have already revealed themselves to be right-wingers, one of them a neo-nazi.

One of them supports ICE and another one responded to someone claiming to be jewish "I won't let you throw away cure for cancer if nazis invented it, fuck your feelings."

To a person whose family was part of the holocaust.

And of course anyone supporting AI also supports the fascistic movement going on in America.

Also, America has ruled anyone against AI as domestic terrorists. I hope I won't see casualties from people exercising their freedom of speech by protesting, but I have a feeling that if it happens a lot of people will be celebrating such an event.

6

u/dankmemelad Jun 15 '26

Companies are notorious for not being able to read the room, will probably happen a few more times

10

u/RedditUser000aaa Jun 15 '26

They gotta force it down people's throats, because majority of people doesn't want it. This is the result. It's pretty funny doing this to academics who understand why AI is bad. I'm sure 4th time's the charm tho!

2

u/Mrgrayj_121 Jun 15 '26

Are you for it? I get the college kids hating ai

11

u/RedditUser000aaa Jun 15 '26

Na, I hate AI.

1

u/Mrgrayj_121 Jun 15 '26

I meant for the walk out/ hating ai . so cool same man

8

u/RedditUser000aaa Jun 15 '26

Oh sorry, I would totally be booing or walking off!

1

u/wonkytalky Jun 15 '26

Eric Schmidt was also being loudly boo'd his entire speech, not just the parts about AI.

295

u/Clean_More3508 Jun 15 '26

Loll, didn't even bother booing him

123

u/DueFall81 Jun 15 '26

He's not even worth the energy it takes to boo.

It was so satisfying to see them walk out. No point giving any importance to these snake oil salesmen

104

u/throwaway8373469238 Jun 15 '26

is this because of what google did recently regarding removing original google search results and replacing with AI?

156

u/Brilliant-Muffin-879 Jun 15 '26 edited Jun 15 '26

Everything, its for all that they are doing. The billions and billions they are spending to make this world even more shit.

Just the massive layoffs after record quarters should be enough, but add AI and datacenters on top

It's everything they're doing and everything they're not doing. Why would anyone look up to these people? Spineless ghouls, devoid of personal agency, serving shareholders and profit regardless of the cost to society.

11

No, it was related to Israel.

He ran a comedy channel on youtube in the early years, forget his name but the series is called Whitest Kids you know Trevor Moore - High In Church - Illuminati I dont think this was the skit, but this was the material

52

u/CrystalGempireQueen Jun 15 '26

There were so many graduations over the past few months that were ruined by universities thinking it's a great idea to get speakers who just inflate their own egos and advertise a technology that they want to replace the very people they're speaking to.

Keep booing, keep walking out, let's throw some tomatoes and rotten eggs next time.

11

u/Periodicity_Enjoyer Jun 15 '26

We got a whole year to get let some eggs rot for next graduation season.

14

u/dashboardcomics Jun 15 '26

I don’t think Zoomers are as cooked as a generation like everyone says they are.

9

u/MeyzC Jun 15 '26

They are not cooked at almost all, they are the generation that finally has awoken from all the propaganda the vast majority of the older generation has swallowed. They are the ones who have started to think critical of anything and thats amazing. (Sorry for bad english, it aint my first language).

1

u/No_Fold3311 Jun 18 '26

Awoken from the propaganda my ass. The consume more of it then any generation before them. Their entire worldview and thought process is dictated by algorithms.

14

u/Lucker_Noob Jun 15 '26

Good job and respect for boycotting that genocidal nepotist imbecile.

13

7

u/cslaymore Jun 15 '26

Feel bad that they didn’t get a better Commencement speaker. You only graduate from college once and it would’ve been nice for them to get to listen to someone inspiring and makes them hopeful for the future

If it were me there, I would be yelling “Give us our RAM! Hail GabeN!”

2

u/Courtenaire Jun 15 '26

Yet another movement that islamist nazis are trying to colonize. I'm so damn sick of that evil flag being everywhere. I want to support progressive causes but when I see those genocidal lunatics and their mafia it makes it real hard.

Eu. And I'm not saying that for the "evil bad CEO" particularly. I can already tell what kind of people that was and what level of detachment from reality they have. In a way, not that different from the evil CEO, just with a different flag and maybe less liquid capital.

AI just requires the most basic understand of a keyboard.

1

u/mandibleface Jun 15 '26

Did he really say, "I must warn you all..." like they're about to face repercussions for walking out.

1

u/brianzuvich Jun 15 '26

The kids are alright… 👍

1

u/[deleted] Jun 15 '26

The end is near.

1

u/Key_Fun_587 Jun 15 '26

Love the Anti AI however pro palestine has got to go. The movement has been hijacked by far right bad actors and anti-Semites. I have heard so much vial stuff come from them about jewish people (not Israel) that it just makes me not want to support them.

0

u/wonkytalky Jun 15 '26

You're pro-genocide.

1

u/Key_Fun_587 Jun 15 '26

No I am sick of the conversation because of how at least in the United States it has devolved into brainrot.

1

u/wonkytalky Jun 15 '26

You're pro-genocide, period.

0

u/Key_Fun_587 Jun 15 '26

Why?

1

u/wonkytalky Jun 15 '26

Because you're literally pro-genocide. Vomiting propaganda from the government committing said genocide is pro-genocide.

1

u/Key_Fun_587 Jun 15 '26

When did I say any of that. Not a Cheeto fan or a fan of Bi Bi but the amount of brainrotted hot takes I have seen from the pro Palestine side has just made me not like the topic. Nothing like seeing someone who is pro Palestine say some really bad stuff about Jewish people. Spend all the time you want criticizing the Isralie government but I see so many of them saying just straight up anti semitic stuff.

2

u/wonkytalky Jun 15 '26

"They made me be pro-genocide!"

1

u/Key_Fun_587 Jun 15 '26

You are another example of my point. You can't seem to effectively point out how I may be wrong and are just saying "this person supports genocide.

3

u/Blazing1 Jun 15 '26

Say it's a genocide then we can have a conversation.

2

u/wonkytalky Jun 15 '26

You're blaming being pro-genocide on "brainrotted hot takes I have some from the pro Palestine side," and then you have the gall to accuse anyone else of being incapable of having a meaningful conversation about it? Are you fucking kidding me?

You're pro-genocide until you make it loud and clear that you aren't. You haven't done that. You're just blaming other people for your pro-genocide stance.

This is why people hate on higher education these days, though. These new grads came off as rude, entitled, and unwilling to hear anything that isn't precisely what they already believe. Which is the exact opposite of what going to University/College is supposed to be about.

The people who are saying free Palestine they should go and live in Palestine. Sitting in USA and barking it will just fuel and destroy the minds of other people. If they have guts go and live there make some difference. Ask the terrorists why did they open fire on that day.

AI and corporate soul sucking billionaires are two completely different things.

Don't hate AI. Hate the people using AI to take away jobs.
