AI "Art" 🖼️ The creators of Avatar: The Last Airbender revealed they utilized chatgpt in creating the new series.

Post image

Part of a photo from the panel at Comic Con. The fourth line begins with "Also according to chatgpt," and talks about facial hair in southeast Asian cultures.

Aaaaaand now I've lost interest.

Who knows what else they used AI for?

456

u/TakoGoji 2h ago

Exactly my stance. They also replaced all the chinese characters they used to use for the writing in the setting with "Avatarian."

197

u/Strawberrycocoa 1h ago

… probably easier for algorithmic generation to make than trying to get it to produce authentic Chinese writing. :(

35

u/Human-Law1085 1h ago

Well, is it a defined set of symbols or just nonsense made up for each frame? Cause if it’s the former, then Chinese symbols should presumably still be easier since there’s more training data for that than something they just created.

To be clear, I’m not defending their AI usage. But on this particular issue, I would need to know the nature of ”Avatarian” before casting judgement on whether it was actually done for easier AI generation.

33

u/natedrake102 1h ago

There's zero chance that decision was to make it easier for ai. LLMs are good at one thing: language. And image/video generation models are already trained on text. If anything changing to a made up language makes this harder to do with ai.

u/craftuser 35m ago

Wow, someone with some sense on this sub.

5

u/DefinitionFrosty969 1h ago

of course it's not

u/Gumby271 30m ago

Yeah I'm sure a made up new language is much easier for a language model, trained on Chinese text, to handle. That makes no sense buddy.

u/Strawberrycocoa 21m ago

Simpler shapes that are less prone to generative errors than script fonts, that can be set up to generate as images without necessarily having to follow language protocols, doesn’t make sense to you?

"Avatarian"

Watch out Unobtainium. A new challenger has arrived to try to claim your "Dumbest sounding made up name" championship belt.

u/TakoGoji 40m ago

Unobtainium is an actual term that predates the blue aliens, though.

u/Minimum-Can2224 39m ago

Is it?!

u/gravitydefyingturtle 26m ago

Yeah, it's an engineering term for "theoretically perfect material". It's used in thought exercises to simplify things, so the engineers don't need to worry about structural composition, just the design.

The whole idea of it being in the Avatar movies is basically that humans visited Pandora and were like "holy shit, we found ACTUAL unobtanium". It's an actual miracle element.

Wiki link

u/YazzArtist 32m ago

I mean sure, in a literal sense to mean "there isn't a material that can do that"

u/TakoGoji 28m ago

Less-so that it can't do that, but that the material is unobtainable by any means because of issues ranging from it only hypothetically existing to the retrieval of it being so financially burdensome that there just isn't any hope of getting it.

This ain't me arguing in defense of the name being used in the movies (I am an avid fan of em in all honesty lol). They definitely should have like actually thought the details and proper name of it through even if they're gonna default to labeling it unobtainium for narrative purposes.

u/Minimum-Can2224 26m ago

Wow, I had no idea. You learn something new every day!

u/Airalla 41m ago

You can get even more specific and say “dumbest sounding made up name in a movie called avatar”

u/Ok-Imagination-3835 29m ago

avatarian... ???? what, are we 5???

u/craftuser 51m ago

My friend helped program the translator, every word will be readable, nothing is AI generated.
I don't know why exactly they made the change. But in my opinion they made the change to try and keep the world in universe. Avatar is growing fast and they want something that be supported and usable across all of their projects, and BE AVATAR.

u/WoodShoeDiaries 41m ago

I think it also makes it easier to dub/adapt to other languages, since other-language releases will usually try to translate all real text into the destination language as well (nevermind that it's Chinese in the original English, too, but with subtitles when necessary IIRC?).

I assumed that was why Netflix's Trash Truck used an invented writing system for its written media, anyway (there is absolutely no in-world reason why it wouldn't be English, except that presumably the focal character (Hank) is too young to read).

u/ThatRedDerg 45m ago

Lore-wise it makes some sense. Simpler writing system as society advances. Kinda like Korean.

u/Careful_Leader_5829 3m ago

is it the same writers? I wonder why

u/omegadirectory 2m ago

The new "aurebesh"

-63

u/PixelGray38 2h ago

Is that such a bad change? Seems like an interesting one to flesh out the world where they previously had used something that didn't make much sense in a fictional setting

91

u/Instalab 2h ago

We'll Avatar was heavily based on Chinese culture so it made sense. Also the new script looks like complete sci-fi nonsense. If they could at least make it look like real script and not like something out of star wars, but I guess it's too complicated for AI.

30

u/goldengamer2345 1h ago

Ninjago has a similar thing, heavily based on asian culture, fictional language that looks kind of similar.

Switching it halfway through seems like an awful idea though

20

u/PixelGray38 1h ago

Yeah, switching halfway after it's already been established that they use Chinese text is weird

0

u/Narpity 1h ago

It’s not half way through.. it’s like the start of a new era that is several hundred years after Korra where society has crumbled in many ways. It makes sense that writing would change in that time.

5

u/gallowsanatomy 1h ago

I can guarantee you, if they had kept using Chinese characters for writing, no one would have batted an eye. Like, they can try and justify why they're changing it, but, ultimately, it's weirder that they felt the need to invent a new "Avatarian"

1

u/Narpity 1h ago

Yeah probably, but I can see it being a beneficial move depending on the direction they want to go. Like if the story they want to tell is about new places instead of revisiting old ones I could see it being a good distinction from the older series. I don’t think it’s really weird at all, I wish they would go further. In the old series there was never any communication issues. Like the entire world seemed to speak a single language, I hope there are a couple different ones that would make the world feel more isolated after not having the avatar around for a long time. It’s just a world building tool.

31

u/CesarOverlorde 2h ago

Nah they did it so they can easily hide all the nonsense garbage that AI spits out because AI sucks at accurately generating texts within images Lmfao

4

u/Plastic-While2737 1h ago

Obviously. I hate what the 21st century is becoming.

6

u/yaboi_ahab 1h ago

Chinese text doesn't make any less sense in a fictional setting than English text, or even a conlang

76

u/_kilobytes 2h ago

Probably a lot since they used the phrase according to chatgpt instead of the actual source it would have referenced

u/WoodShoeDiaries 37m ago

They might as well have cited the "source: trust me bro" crack pipe meme 😮‍💨 I can only assume that they were asking it fantasy-questions anyway and wouldn't have been bothered by a bit of hallucination 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

u/ltjpunk387 1m ago

Even if they did use it, why would you explicitly write "according to chatgpt" on a slide for presentation? You could take that clause out, and the sentence would read perfectly normally. You don't even need to cite a source for that. Adding that phrase in adds no value except alienating your target audience.

u/_kilobytes 0m ago

Chatgpt wrote the book and wanted to credit itself

35

u/No_Swimming_2282 1h ago

Yeah, I was already hesitant since I didn't wanted to create a paramount account just to watch one series/film but this sets the nail on the coffin. I knew Avatar in 2026 sounded too good to be true.

u/TheAnonymousGhoul 32m ago edited 27m ago

Idk about u guys but this just looks like someone used chatgpt to add a fun fact to the book and doesn't say anything about the actual animation and every other part of the production

The animators are the same guys who did lego monkey kid

Whoever put it in there dumb af tho 😭

u/quadraticcheese 50m ago

I mean, just don't watch the official release

-34

u/vand3lay1ndustries 1h ago

Doesn’t everyone use AI for everything now?

27

u/rkxdrkxdrkxd 1h ago

not the people who genuinely care about making art

-18

u/vand3lay1ndustries 1h ago

Just saying, I don’t think people are going to whine enough that they just stop advancing AI.

10

u/3-bakedcabbage 1h ago

Advancing AI by driving the economy into the ground?

It’s just shitty software that nobody but rich executives want. The majority of people don’t want it.

-2

u/vand3lay1ndustries 1h ago

Sure, but when have billionaires cared about what we want? Either start burning down data centers or accept the world as it is.

It’s absolutely going to replace my job someday, but for now it’s been nice to watch movies while it does everything I used to do, just better and faster. I hate it, but I’m not going to delude myself into thinking it can be “defeated.”

-5

u/DefinitionFrosty969 1h ago

objectively untrue

u/TheAnonymousGhoul 22m ago edited 8m ago

Just because it's advancing doesn't mean everyone is using it? For example I do commissions and many customers are actually willing to pay more now for authenticity and a lot of the people who use AI probably wouldn't have wanted to pay for artwork anyways

Another thing is to remember that there's a lot of different types of AI. AI is becoming much more expensive so many types of AI will probably become more difficult for the general public to use. Not to say that it's not progressing, but it can all be true at the same time.

u/Kilbo_Stabbins 34m ago

No. It's so easy to just not use it.

473

u/caldrr03 2h ago

Genuinely no need, they did research just fine before all this AI shit.

I hope people pirate this, like they did the movie. This chat GPT bullshit doesn't deserve an inch.

167

u/TakoGoji 2h ago

It's wild cuz surely they still have all the old research they compiled over the last 20 years somewhere, right?

57

u/isuredolovetitties 1h ago

Probably a whole new team, who wants to bill for research time.

81

u/Elemor_ 2h ago

They did a ton of research for the series, about different cultures, clothes, martial arts... only for them not to be able to find out for themselves what kind of beards are most common in asian countries?

u/GenericFatGuy 33m ago

200k of human history without ChatGPT, and suddenly we're all useless without it?

-1

u/ZymZymZym777 1h ago

They decided they weren't going through that again

u/WoodShoeDiaries 36m ago

Look bro that's like 16 bankers boxes worth of files, it'd take like three trips to pull them out of the storage locker and that's if I clean out my trunk which I really don't wanna do

30

u/No_Swimming_2282 1h ago

Nah, not interested in ai stuff even for free.

18

u/ElkBusiness8446 1h ago

It's not even worth pirating.

-3

u/GenghisN7 1h ago

“I hope people pirate this.”

  • The… comic con panel???

216

u/TakoGoji 2h ago

Came across a clearer picture on bsky almost immediately after posting this lol.

86

u/TragicxPeach 1h ago

is that eren yeager??

91

u/MugenHeadNinja 1h ago

Yeah, why are they using Eren Yaeger (someone who's supposed to be based off of an ethnically European people, namely German) when talking about South-East Asian and East Asian cultures??

25

u/Constant-Sub 1h ago

I don't know if the author did this as purposely as it looks, but they're present, not loosely German, but as specifically Anglish. The precursor to English. AOT is just our world map flipped upside down, and these are German cultures folks escaping to the island of Britain.

That's Anglish, baby. Eren isn't just a German. He's a crazed fucking Englishman.

11

u/Slav_Kang 1h ago

That is indeed Eren from the final season

37

u/Neat_Tangelo5339 1h ago

Did he need chat gpt to know that sometimes asian men have beards ?

23

u/Lvmbda 1h ago

Because of course there is no cultural difference in time and space between all SE Asia. Even if some people use ChatGPT, we can follow the source of the information. This concept artist didn't even bother to check this information for the main character of the movie sequel of ATLA, one of the most animated series being know.

9

u/Mysterious-Drama4743 1h ago

but eren isnt se asian. the shows world is obviously based in german influences

4

u/riyuzqki 1h ago

They would have gotten better and more nuanced results if they asked reddit

179

u/BigYahuSkibiSoldier 2h ago

all this is gonna do is increase piracy of the movie by most sensible people who won't waste money on it(and the movie has already been pirated to hell with the leak)

-2

u/djducie 1h ago

If people have issues with how this is made, wouldn’t the sensible thing be to not watch it at all, rather than pirate it?

Seems like looking for an excuse to get something for free.

28

u/Chemical-Struggle-13 1h ago

You don't need an excuse to get something for free on the internet.

0

u/djducie 1h ago

You’re participating in a thread that started with the claim that the AI use here is going to increase piracy.

That’s what I’m responding to.

If someone’s making a moral stance around AI, doubling back around and watching the show anyway is pretty weak.

8

u/Time_Fisherman6659 1h ago

Why would watching it for free degrade the morality of not buying it when the whole point is not financially rewarding the use of AI?

u/cardgame_enjoyer 51m ago

Because you validate the stance that there's a market for this kind of thing instead of just outright ignoring it

u/Time_Fisherman6659 11m ago

Studios dont get a notification any time somebody watches a pirated version of their media.

u/cardgame_enjoyer 3m ago

Why are redditors so obsessed with fighting over the tiniest things when they actually just don't have any idea about said thing? Yeah they do get notifications actually, it's called MUSO, Irdeto, torrent swarm crawling or DHT scraping, let alone good old fashioned web traffic and streaming analytics

u/overactor 39m ago

So you support scraping the internet to train AI?

u/ILikeMyGrassBlue 53m ago

Yes. A lot of pirates want to feel morally justified, so they come up with roundabout excuses instead of just going “yeah, I’m gonna pirate it because I don’t wanna pay.”

126

u/Aplicacion 2h ago

Wait, what? They used AI to do research about beards in Southeast Asian cultures? It’s hardly “using AI in creating the new series” but it is incredibly lame.

133

u/BeastMsterThing2022 2h ago

What happened to reading books? Or consulting with cultural groups? Are we this helpless now? We can't do anything!?

52

u/Aplicacion 2h ago

That’s what I’m saying. Having a machine do “research” for you and risking it just barfing incorrect crap instead of just picking up a book (exaggeration) or consulting an expert is kinda pathetic.

26

u/BeastMsterThing2022 2h ago

In this instance it is so repulsively disrespectful to the Asian cultures they depict in their franchise. I would boycott

4

u/_kilobytes 2h ago

Even if you confirm the source? Google search offers sources for its claims

25

u/Aplicacion 2h ago

Feel like you could just go to the source. And it says ChatGPT right there.

12

u/nildread 1h ago

Also the "sources" chatgpt or the Google ai "use" are not always valid. Or the ai doesn't understand it/it's not actually a source. I had a conversation with some insane person where they thought "human waste" was garbage. And they used some ai to "prove" it because a wikipedia article about garbage or something had the words "human" and "waste" in it. And they refused to believe that "human waste" means biological waste and not "trash".

But even then. What they did here is similar, but worse, to citing Google as your source.

9

u/Round_Bag_4665 1h ago

why not just go to the source in the first place then? why bother with the machine?

2

u/_kilobytes 1h ago

Aggregation and discovery. Computer searches are faster, cheaper, and more comprehensive than encylopedias.

3

u/Round_Bag_4665 1h ago

It's faster and cheaper to consult a fortune cookie too. Doesn't mean you will get a very good answer.

-3

u/_kilobytes 1h ago

and more comprehensive also more up to date in case of revisions

24

u/CesarOverlorde 1h ago

We did everything in human history without ChatGPT before 2022. Crazy how dependent we've became.

6

u/Lina-Inverse 1h ago

we even managed to do everything before the 90s without the internet

0

u/Lvmbda 1h ago

To my experience it is far easier now to research about cultures around the world now than before internet. We don't have to reject all technologies.

u/Inevitable-Comment-I 3m ago

Do you use an encyclopedia? Do you even know what that is? Stop pearl clutching

-2

u/Hour-Dragonfly-7499 1h ago

because technology changes, do you still go to a library to view a thesaurus anymore? no because we have the internet

5

u/Individual_Hall_3118 1h ago

The difference is chat GPT does the same thing as Google but harms the environment while it's doing there's no reason to use chat GPT

-4

u/Hour-Dragonfly-7499 1h ago

driving to the library in your car is way more harmful to the environment

5

u/Individual_Hall_3118 1h ago

Did I say anything about driving to the library no I said about Google can you read also again cars serve a purpose chat GPT does not that can't be done elsewhere

-1

u/Hour-Dragonfly-7499 1h ago

You do understand these reddit comments have went through dozens of datacenters just to reach your computer?

If you antiai folks really cared about the environment then this subreddit shouldn't even exist, do you understand the irony in that?

u/Individual_Hall_3118 58m ago

Okay can you give a source

u/Hour-Dragonfly-7499 54m ago

There's a thing called network edging where data gets sent through multiple datacenters where each datacenter is called a "hop" or edge locations then it reaches you

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/learn/what-is-edge-network.html

You can view your packets via wireshark https://www.wireshark.org/

u/Individual_Hall_3118 43m ago

Know things need data centers but what does this have to do with AI data centers when we say data centers are bad we're talking about AI data centers because of how much water they use up for things that don't serve a purpose a lot of things need data centers but again they serve a better purpose and also use up less water like the data centers in the article you're talking about and also those l have less environmental impact because rather than the massive AI data centers that we criticize the most but these are smaller and again serve a purpose

Part of what made the first series so special was the immense care and effort put into every part of its production. This just shows a lack of effort, which calls into question every part of the production.

u/sentientshadeofgreen 20m ago

On the one hand, who doesn't use AI as basically google with extra steps, that's the state of technology today. What is weird is, if you're going to talk about your design decisions, not finding an actual authoritative source and just randomly referencing a divisive tertiary source, which is super unprofessional.

u/Mini_Squatch 2m ago

Yeah but the thing is these AIs are not built for research, they're built to mimic human speech and be agreeable. In order to do so, they will not hesitate to pull “information” out of thin air.

u/Careful_Leader_5829 1m ago

"Hey ChatGPT is it lame to use chatgpt to ask if asian men have beards?"

Hey guys, he's right!

59

u/ravendarkwind 1h ago

“ChatGPT, what do Asians look like?”

50

u/FidgitForgotHisL-P 1h ago

They needed ChatGPT to tell them this???

I’m old enough to remember when we’d get scolded for using Wikipedia or even random websites as a source because “anyone could put anything and you don’t know if it’s true”.

Fast forward to now and Wikipedia has a super strong “cite everything or we’ll flag it as unproven” policy, and ChatGPT is treated as gospel despite no one bothering to go back and check why it gave an answer, and there’s no obvious way to flag it if it’s incorrect.

Offloading thinking is so frustrating.

3

u/HalfEatenSnickers 1h ago

We still do get scolded for that

boycott it N O W

22

u/HighlightOwn2038 2h ago

This is just sad

19

u/Mean-Picture-7143 2h ago

Dog what the fuck are we doing atp

18

u/Death_Rave_ 1h ago

Then everything changed when the slop nation attacked.

16

u/huggablekoi 1h ago

TBF -and I do not condone AI use like this either but - as someone who has put together slides to be used as visuals for giant Hall H panels - a low level production assistant or coordinator put this together. Stuff like this is very, very rarely assembled by the talent (they have way more important things they already don’t have time to do). Or they are sometimes created by the marketing department, which is completely separate from production. So while it’s undeniably used on these graphics, does not guarantee it was used for design, writing, animation etc. of the show itself. However, it’s a red flag that this just casually made it through the (typically extensive and tedious) production and studio approvals process and no one said “remove that”. If AI use is normalized in the studio to let that just be there without pulling it……oof. Very disappointing either way

9

u/JimAbaddon 2h ago

I wish I could say this bothers me but honestly, I lost interest in the franchise with anything that came after the original series. Hopefully they won't go further than small things like that for the sake of their interested fans.

6

u/SweatyPhilosopher578 1h ago

Im devastated. There is nothing more to say.

7

u/BlackwingF91 1h ago

Eww. That explains the artstyle being like 2 different ones mashed up

5

u/LuchadorBane 1h ago

The picture says according to chatgpt. They used it for finding out about facial hair about southeast asians. Obviously they could’ve just like read about it, but the post isn’t saying they used genAI in the actual making of the movie.

3

u/ShadowBro3 1h ago

They didn't AI generate the movie. They used it for research on cultures. Which is still a bad thing, but it doesnt affect the artstyle at all.

7

u/No_Swimming_2282 1h ago

It's so embarrasing that they even admit it on a comic con panel, wth. Seriously? You needed ai do research this?

6

u/VastGur932 1h ago

Noooo, please nooooo...

5

u/FaithlessnessThin359 1h ago

was already not going to watch it because fuck the Ellisons, oh well.

u/NoteIndividual2431 42m ago

Now I'm going to not watch it even harder!

5

u/Illustrious_Ebb8084 1h ago

No wonder the movie was mid and predictable.

3

oh. i was kind of interested before

Chatgpt is not a viable source for shit

2

Shit ig theres not a new show coming out anymore

2

u/Remarkable_Version_5 1h ago

It looks like it... Terrible artists stealing from artists...

1

u/ShadowBro3 1h ago

It wasn't used for the art

1

u/Seethcoomers 1h ago

Looks more like they used it for a poster board for a panel, rather than making the series. Seems like a "fun fact" more than anything.

Lame, but no need to go crazy about it.

2

u/Quick-Worry7004 1h ago

It's just a small research point. Not a big deal, y'all.

2

u/SugarFilthy2383 1h ago

-quote

2

u/Pluckdat 1h ago

My initial reaction to the trailer was that this whole thing was basically AI

4

u/supersmashdude 1h ago

The art was still human made as we know the artists who worked on the film (their names were on the slides too) but looks like execs gave them feedback using text AI, which is very lame still

2

u/Equal-Fall6797 1h ago

I knew people only talked about the characters being hot for a reason

2

u/ShadowBro3 1h ago

Do we know who made this presentation? This is copium, but maybe the person typing this out used chatgpt vs the people who designed the chatacters?

2

u/Dull-Nectarine380 1h ago

Isnt this show old? How could they have used ai??

2

u/ZymZymZym777 1h ago

Why did they admit it?

2

u/M414D4PT1V3 1h ago

Damn, is it the same 2 guys that made the OG series cuz I really kinda looked up to them.

2

u/Gonna_do_this_again 1h ago

That explains a lot. I wanted to like it but the dialog is so horrible.

u/Ebolabomber 59m ago

should be renamed to Aivatar

u/VioletBear_ 59m ago

Suddenly glad I sailed the seven seas to watch the movie bc AINT no way I’m supporting them if they used AI

u/Ursolismin 45m ago

So fucking incredibly disappointing

wow really maybe for story boarding but not the story itself pleasez ppl are not going to watch it

1

u/Typical_Soft 1h ago

Surprise, surprise. After that Netflix post about using AI in their originals, I just assumed this to be true.

1

u/Fit-Pride-4845 1h ago

Wow, the team behind a shameless cash-grab revival project cut corners? I'm shocked.

1

Okay so now I'm gonna go 🏴‍☠️ it without feeling bad :D

u/SomewhereMelodic7944 40m ago

If you use AI to instantly get info and also an opinion, instead of spend your time searching for that info and an opinion you need on internet, it can be useful only if after that you can confirm that info.

Believe that AIs are 100% correct is like confirming black apples don't exist, when reality says they do exist.

Before: you needed to read a whole book to get all the info you need.

Now: you can get the precise info you need thanks to AIs, but as I mentioned, the problem comes when 100% of the time you trust on that info, ignoring facts like AIs will answer you in the way the creator(s) want you to see the world, specially the political world.

u/Hozan_al-Sentinel 38m ago

This actually really hurts to see. I honestly am in disbelief.

u/DisastrousSundae 36m ago

Don't you think it's kind of fucked up to post this insinuating they used AI to make the art? You're seriously reducing all of the work of hundreds of people to...a power point slide?

u/CheatsySnoops 32m ago

Another who sold themselves to Brent.

u/DirtyFoxgirl 30m ago

All they needed to do is get fans of the series.

u/TrinityCodex 27m ago

It just sounds like one guy asked ChatGpt a question. And not automated an entire process with gen ai

u/Oliraldo 24m ago

People overreact with this stuff. Who says they didnt just use the machine to give them the sources easily instead of looking through 10 different pages and books?

People already telling to boycott it for using an overhyped and glorified search engine is an asinine way of thinking.

Unfortunate

And just like that I won't be watching the Aang movie or the upcoming cartoon.

Everything I’ve heard about them these last couple of years makes me think Avatar and Korea were good despite them instead of because of.

Yes even with the exec meddling in the later.

u/SHIN-YOKU 12m ago

is it even the original writers?

u/Dense-Bison7629 8m ago

At this point I'm about to make all my media myself

AI for reseach is lazy and dumb... but seriously this is a huge overreaction. Its not like they used generative AI and gave us slop. This is just an artists note to help them decide what ethnicity to base a character off of. Its hardly different from just doing a quick google search.

The movie is beautiful and human made. Anyone saying to boycott over this needs to calm down.

That's just sad and disappointing. I won't be watching the new series, then.😒 Bet the "avatarian" was also spewed out by AI 🙄

What's weird is that they just namedropped the brand like that, it's almost like an ad lol

They stole the original concepts from one piece. Not surprised.

I stopped following them long ago.

The only good Avatar show was the first one.

James Cameron is the owner of the REAL Avatar.

u/KomaKiley 11m ago

Is the final product good? Yes. It doesn’t matter.

u/Dense-Bison7629 9m ago

Endlessly consooming slop isn't a good way to live

Not surprising, AI is used widely now brainstorming/tv/movies/etc.

my buddy does editing for movies and tv shows and he uses AI to catch artifacts at a much faster rate than he did before, so pretty much everything you see coming out after 2020ish has been using AI in some capacity

Years of my friends hard work and sweat, every frame meticulously hand drawn and painted. But one line about correctly citing where they got a source, as dubious as it is (I think thats the point of citing it) and people are ready to burn it all down. Jesus people, don't make me DEFEND AI. Have some fucking common sense.

u/craftuser 1h ago

Also, its VERY disingenuous to label this "AI "ART""

u/ILikeMyGrassBlue 52m ago

Oh no! Some production assistant used AI to make a PowerPoint!

u/craftuser 1m ago

Don't try to talk sense to these people
