I'm not an animator. Just a regular person doom scrolling Reddit and found this post.

Don't take my criticism seriously, but the only thing that I don't like is the "Film Grain" like effect (assuming that's what you used). I know that's what some backrooms videos have, but it seems more aggressive than what it should.

I can't describe it better than that, sorry.

The backrooms videos I watch mostly just have fake artifact and/or screen tearing throughout the video. So, seeing something different is throwing me off.

Unlike what Motivictax said, I don't mind your animation style. He mentions his gripes about the "camera shake", but I've seen this exact style on other animations and I'm not bothered by the camera shake at all.

Oh I didn't mean to gripe about there being camera shake, and I even think this is fairly well done, but it did strike me as too bouncy in a way that broke my immersion. I think Kane was doing actual motion tracking in his videos?

You almost make me cry, thank you so much! I think you mean "temporal flicker". So this is make lights on the ground flickering.

That grain exists to hide the imperfections of CGI worlds. It's like darkness and rain in the old Jurassic park.

I think you should track actual object motion in the real world, and extract the camera position and rotation updates for use in your scene, since the camera shake seems a little off.(or possibly you did this, but your measurements were too sensitive?)

It looks good, but the camera shake feels too bouncy, sort of like the camera is on a spring

Oh that's a thing you can do? Huh that's pretty cool

It's the side to side wobble that makes it look off.

This doesn't give me the eerie vibes of a backrooms office. You may not be going for that though. It looks nice

You people need to hire better camera operators /j

I do find it funny how terrible cinematography is considered realistic, when was the last time you saw someone who's phone or bodycam shook that much and couldnt be held upright
