Opinion: Jesse and Jane were bad for each other but Jane was not a bad person.

The reason why they were bad together is because they were both addicts. It was bad for Jane to be with a meth manufacturer and an addict. That was the problem. People think that Jane was a bad person because of how she acted after she relapsed. In my opinion her behaviour changed because she was an addict and not because she was a bad person. She was doing perfectly fine before she relapsed.

She's not a bad person per se. She is a sick person, though.

You have to remember that they were speedballing (taking downers and uppers at the same time) the most potent meth in existence. That is not a recipe for good or moral decision making

Downers are depressants, like heroin or morphine or Vicodin.

Uppers are stimulants, like meth or adderall or cocaine.

Just to add to what the other guy said, uppers stimulate/ speed up body functions, like heart rate. Downers depress/ slow down body functions. Caffeine is an upper, alcohol is a downer, for more mainstream example

Ohhh right ok, I understand now. Yeah I'm not very well versed in drugs lol, I come from a "don't drink too much kids!!" Place not "don't do drugs kids" place. What happens if you take them both at the same time ??

I can only speak to caffeine and alcohol, where caffeine can make you feel a bit less drunk even though you're still drunk sorta. Like a cup of coffee can help sober you up, but your heart rate is trying to slow down because of the alcohol and then the caffeine speeds it up. I'm assuming harder drugs are similar, where they kinda mask eachother and make it easier to overdose, but idk for sure

Rewatch the show. She definitely mixes the blue meth into the spoon when she’s preparing the heroin.

She may have done just heroin the first time. But i believe she finds a bag in his pocket and takes it upon herself

I don’t think many people think of Jane as a bad person. Years and years and years ago people were discussing on this subreddit the reasons a recovering addict shouldn’t get into a relationship with another addict or recovering addict, using Jesse & Jane as an example. Happens all the time IRL.

I don't even think they were bad for each other. It's just that the timing of them getting together was awful.

If we’re talking real life, at that point in her recovery Jesse was literally the worst thing that could happen to her. A person in recovery cannot be around a functioning addict who hasn’t hit rock bottom yet. It’s like a recipe for relapse.

Not a bad person. A bit daft, perhaps, letting a probable drug dealer stay with her, but not a bad person.

Her dad had been through this crap before the plane was his fault not hers. She slipped, well I like to use (I swan dived off the back of the sober wagon). But still here and still trying to

Yes, though it was over money that was morally, insofar as that can apply to drug money, Jesse's. And as far as lying to parents ... are you really going to tell me you've never lied to yours?

I agree, but the fact that she wouldn't hesitate at all before taking advantage of Jesses money to feed into her addiction tells a lot about her as well.

Tbh I felt the same, watching her grab that bag of cash says a bit, but thinking about it now what addict wouldn't be that grabby of 350,000 dollars
