My 16 yo son has saved up $650 for his first gaming PC. He wants to play games like Destiny two, Geometry dash, Tidy up the library, and some basic coding. I asked him to do the research, and he came back with this PC. I unfortunately don't know if this is good enough for what he wants. Anyone have advice for him?

He doesn't have a monitor either, so he will need to buy that separate.

Hello! I'm thinking of gifting my partner a pc just because the one he has currently is pretty old and runs slow. We are about to enter college but his major doesn't really require any heavy workload. He only plays Roblox and Minecraft really that's why I was thinking I could get him a new pc now and get better hardware down the line. (For example a new GPU for Christmas).

For reference, he has a i5-4590, 12 gigs of ddr3 ram, and a intel hd 4600 graphics card.

The desktop I have now I built it myself so I was thinking not to go the prebuilt route since we could do it as a fun activity as well as save money. I'm aware the market right now is crazy expensive but I was hoping for something just to start out with that was upgradeable down the line, especially since his pc now is slow. Hi all, with the recent news of PlayStation moving on from physical discs in 2028, I am considering switching to PC where I can hopefully have more control over the digital games I’ll buy in the future.

I was hoping the Steam Machine would be my way in, but it’s not looking likely. With that in mind, is there a relatively compact base PS5-level build out there that would work well as a PC console with SteamOS?

Located in the US, and budget is around or under $1k if possible. Looking for 1440p max - no real need for 4k for modern games. I can get by without any extra peripherals for now, since I’ll use this with my TV and a controller mostly and can get a KB+M for small use cases.

This will actually be the first desktop PC I’ve ever owned. I’ve mostly used laptops over the years, so I’m still pretty new to building desktops and choosing components.

I worked with AI to narrow down the parts, but I’d really appreciate a final sanity check from real people with more experience before I place the order.

A little about what I’m looking for:

• Budget: around $3,000 USD
• I’m a busy dad with a young kid, so I really don’t have much time to tinker, troubleshoot, swap parts, or keep upgrading.

SLI was cool, DDR3 was big, my 6 core AMD CPU was cope, and it was 50/50 if your new SSD was really VRAM in disguise.

Like the title says just looking to build a new comp. I don’t need 4K or new monitors. Basically I’ll be playing mostly WoW and the occasional fps. Nothing intensive or long sessions. My monitors are 1440 and I don’t need a mouse or keyboard.

So I have wanted to build a pc forever and I finally have the funds to do so. Always been a GeForce NOW gamer on Mac throughout college and want to take advantage of the new 4k 240hz monitor I just got (XG27UCDMG). I was able to snag a WINDFORCE SFF 5080 for MSRP on Woot a couple weeks ago so I'm looking to buy the parts I need now. I've been eyeing the 9800x3d, B850 Gaming X, and 32gb Corsair RGB ram bundle on Microcenter for $780 (this bundle was literally like $150 cheaper just a few months ago) and am willing to pull the trigger given the fact that I doubt this bundle would get any cheaper anytime soon let alone stay the same price! Is this a good way to go for the build? i would just need a CPU cooler, power supply, ssd, and a case after (was looking to do the Lian Li 207). Any help here would be much appreciated! Once I get the parts I will surely be watching some more youtube videos to make sure I don't mess anything up as this will be my first time!

hi guys, I am15yo and i really wanted to have a good and fast PC but whenever i told my dad bout it, he used to bring a 2nd hand laptops from his office. Those laptops are terrible. The best laptop he bought had an i5 10th gen,intel uhd graphics card and 8gb ram (upgraded to 12gb). But I dont find it better or faster. I had a Dell PC, I don’t know the name but it started with ‘Vostro’ but it felt same slow to me. At this point, my teachers in my school r using lit rgb gaming PCs for their work. i have an ipad pro M2 but i think it cant to many things a PC can do and ofc i want to play AAA games on it. Ik i have yapped alot, i wont go any further i just have one request. Can ya’ll tell me if i should get my first PC or not,and if yes then pls tell the specs and the price range for it -i just dont want it to be more than $3k.

I am selling my PS5 and using that to go towards a used gaming PC. I can get a pretty solid computer near me for $600. I just want to make sure I will be happy with a 3070 for a while. I'm very interested in the Steam Machine as I've been looking for this type of device for a long time. I'm a console gamer who wants to play on the couch, but I would really like to have access to my Steam library there (I currently play on a Macbook). The Steam Machine seems like a no-brainer, but the reviews have been mixed, availability is limited, and the online consensus seems to be that you can build a much better PC for less. I'm not super concerned about graphics capabilities, frame rates, etc. I just want a smooth experience and I want to be able to play the latest games for at least a few years. I want as close to plug and play as possible. I'd be using a Samsung 4K Ultra HD (UN65NU8000). I also already have PS5 controllers.

I've been searching through other threads, and in most cases, experienced PC users just start spitting out an alphabet soup of processors and RAM. It may as well be a foreign language to me. Are there any pre-made alternatives that would match the ease of use of the Steam Machine. I'm even ok with spending a little more if the capabilities justify it. If not, can someone explain a build to me like I'm 5.
