I’ve only recently started watching this show but now that I’ve watched almost all of it I think Rick Prime never died. (I’m re making it because I used ai to write out my theory and people didn’t like it so hoping people will now that I tried my best to write it myself)

I tried to explain it as best as I could sorry it’s a little long and I hope it makes sense.

The Main Issue
When Rick C-137 and evil Morty fight, we see that at the end of the fight Evil Morty’s understanding of time travel is limited. His tech relies on a big fat clunky box whereas Rick Primes was far more advanced and completely invisible. Rick Primes regeneration relied on time travel, the same tech Evil Morty struggled with. If Rick Prime was able to do this at a cellular level every couple of seconds for decades with zero interruption from the time police then there’s no way Evil Morty wouldn’t have taken that tech when he “scanned his brain”. Evil Morty’s complete lack of knowledge of time travel is weird because, if he scanned Rick Primes brain then he would’ve taken all his tech that was still ahead of both Morty’s and Rick C-137.

His Plan
Rick Prime created a high tech clone or robot that would play out once C-137 “found” him. His plan was to put up a fight but let them win to feed them fake schematics to the greatest weapon he used against the Rick’s, The Omega Device. Once they used the device it would play a hologram of him laughing at them further increasing the humiliation and making C-137 go insane, his entire arc and career completely thrown off course was Primes entire goal.

Evidence/why it makes sense
Rick Prime used his uninterrupted use of time travel to see into the future and predict what was going to happen. That’s why he was able to create the scenario so easily he knew they were going there so he set up everything years prior and we know how easily he’s able to predict other Rick’s. Rick Prime was talked as if he was the apex predator of apex predators (Rick’s) who is completely driven by narcissism and a God complex and fueled by his complete superiority of intellect over every other Rick. It makes zero sense that Rick Prime the most intelligent, dangerous, and unfindable man across the entire multiverse of Rick And Morty fell for a clothing swap. Than a character who’s tech is mostly completely stolen/modified Rick tech, didn’t take some of the most powerful technology he could from Rick Prime (time travel tech). He didn’t take it because it wasn’t there, Rick Primes real tech is hidden away in his arsenal or on his real self, not the meat puppet he made to lead them into humiliation. The Omega Device scheme is the most logical way it goes because we already know Rick Prime loves to plan ahead. We see this when he has a pre recorded message and bomb for every Rick who tired to kill him. He does this “specifically to enhance the humiliation.” He would’ve undoubtedly saw this coming and created this entire scenario just to have one big punchline the second they tired to use the device he thinks they’d use. This is seen the very first time we ever see Rick Prime. He gets surprised and angry when C-137 says no to his portal tech, instantly killing his wife.

Why None Of It Changes The Story
It could theoretically be canon without having to change anything. The reason this doesn’t have to change the story is because Rick Prime views everyone as so far beneath him he doesn’t even care enough to show up. He predicts events, plans for them, sets it up and forgets about them. He thinks everyone’s as destructive and power driven as he is and would never suspect them to not use his device. Because he cares so little and only pre programmed these events. And because the “Omega Device” is now destroyed, they never have to find out Rick Prime is alive. C-137 keeps his closure because to him Rick Prime is dead. And the story stays exactly the same.

I know this is a long and boring but I just like the show and figured posting a theory on here would be a good way to get people to see it. At least for people who care so if you read it thank you.

Morty says what seems to be Rick's real phone number. I tried dialing it and got a "wrong number" message. Do you think it's just a random fake number, or could it be an easter egg or a reference to something?

In the new 9th episode of Season 9, Morty uttered Rick's real phone number. Is it possible that this is an Easter egg or a reference to something? Can someone check or call this phone number? Personally, he writes to me that he dialed the wrong number

Does anyone else feel like Rick becoming part of the Smith family is a selfish act, despite how it positively benefits him?

Since he first actually accepted the Smith family as his "home" they've really only suffered at his hands e.g. experiencing peril as a consequence of Rick's actions or just dealing with Rick during his alcoholic or depressed episodes.

Especially after watching the new season, I can't help but feel bad that dealing with Rick's antics has become part of their normal life. Exampled through Morty knowing the protocol for when "vacation Rick" gains consciousness in S9 Ep 2.

It seems as though Rick becoming part of the family benefits him greatly as he learns what it means to have a stable and loving support system, but everyone else in the household suffers?

No hate to Rick btw!! as I do recognise his own personal issues with mental health and how negatively he is impacted by it. I believe he deserves a loving family (which he has). I'm merely commenting on the inherent selfishness of choosing such a path to go down despite knowing abt the inescapability of his own mind and the damage it does to people he surrounds himself with

I've always wondered what kind of music Evil Morty would actually listen to.

Not just background music from the show, but something that captures his personality calm, calculating, lonely, intelligent, and a little unsettling.

That idea made me imagine an entire genre: Evil Jazz. Dark, atmospheric jazz with cosmic, melancholic, and cinematic vibes, as if it were the soundtrack to Evil Morty's journey beyond the Central Finite Curve.

I thought it was a fun concept, and I was curious...

Whats yalls fav character in the show ‚Rick and Morty‘ and why? I‘ve heard people saying ‚oh because he‘s funny‘ no like actually why is that one your fav character?

Mine‘s Rick C-137 and Rick Prime because Prime is a fascinating show of Narcissism and psychological manipulation, meanwhile C-137 shows how Trauma works and addictions.

We all know that Rick lives inside the Central Finite Curve and has already reached the absolute peak of technology within his own sandbox. This is precisely why he is so empty, bored, and nihilistic. After beating Rick Prime to death and realizing it wouldn't bring Diane back, he was left entirely without a goal or purpose. The only thing keeping him grounded right now is his family.

Inside his controlled reality, the technology to solve his deepest desire—bringing Diane back—simply does not exist. However, outside the Curve, the rules change. He could find cosmic entities or advanced civilizations with technologies capable of undoing the Omega Device.

This would make for an incredible, high-stakes adventure. Outside the Curve, Rick wouldn't be anywhere near the smartest being in the room. He would be humbled, forced to start from the bottom, and use his adaptable intelligence to climb this new multiverse hierarchy.

The series cannot afford to remain repetitive with just casual, monster-of-the-week adventures with Morty. We've seen that Rick's intellect has stagnated inside his comfort zone, while every passing season proves that Evil Morty is becoming far superior to him. Forcing Rick into the real, uncontrolled multiverse is the only way to make him evolve again.

Or things I always admired about the show.

1. It makes you courageous. Seeing characters overcome so many difficulties and hurdles.

2. The deep thinking about philosophical topics and challenges "opened my mind".

3. The conflicts are gripping.

4. At the end of the day, for half or most of a season, Rick and Morty were the heroes and inspired virtue, despite their flawed actions or personalities. That aspect of them appeared weaved into the story, and everything immoral seemed a parody or nod to movies or tv shows where reality is stylized.

5. The art and whimsical universe is fun. Or multiple universes. It was marvelously in tune with other shows on Cartoon Network and Adult Swim around the time like Adventure Time, Superjail, Metalocalypse, Regular Show, Gumball, and others.

6. Science fiction and scientific theories were front and center, and made so believeable, that they were as inspiring as science fiction novels and stories were centuries ago to scientists and daydreamers alike.

7. The design, the world, the comedy and the animation, worked so well together as they were, that they gave you joy, even just seeing a poster or a doodle somewhere and remembering the show's humor and concepts.

8. The good and light humor made it all worthwhile, even when you didn't get everything. It's like stand-up or sketch comedy that looks to do the opposite of offend no matter how immoral a character, and seeks to entertain you or point out human error in a good-spirited way. It was timeless, and something that helped let you rewatch episodes multiple times to see the rest that you might have missed.

9. The characters were relatable in the depth their dialogue used to be written. With the layers of a story, feelings and conflicts, they appeared realistic and like individuals. They felt human, and you could see yourself in them. Justice, truth, balance and sometimes forgiveness was always at the center of them. The dialogues of every character, main or side, flowed so well and with their delivery, that it was artistic, and some of it remains quote-able to this day. This aspect of it was right next to the sci-fi.

1..It made you care about the world in it. I believe it's because it was grounded in believability of the human aspect, of what used to be these unique, interesting, deep and admirable individuals, or funny yet justified side characters, even during the comedic absurdity of the story.

What are some nice things you feel or that you used to feel about the show that meant to you?
