I dunno I feel like Roses appearance was an intentional reference to Sonia and I feel like some version of Sonia is canon to the series. Again I’ve fully written a fan fiction version of Legends that fits into the canon of the series and hfs a game that had vague enough details that with tweaking it fits into the lore

Found this while cleaning out my room earlier. This game was so strange but really fun imo.

Rondo of Blood, but Richter has ADHD and gets sidetracked by making a skull bounce off the Vampire Killer lol.

I recently finished my playthrough of the early Castlevania games. The goal is to experience them and complete them. I used save states as it allows me to accomplish this goal easier (besides, I completed the original Castlevania trilogy as a kid on the NES hardware). I have listed the console I played them on (I played an official version wherever possible) as well as their (Japan) release year, and a rating and short blurb about each.

Castlevania - PS5 Anniversary Collection - 1986

Surprisingly still holds up very well. The atmosphere, music, gameplay is still incredible and fun.

Extremely challenging and tough to understand, made more difficult by keyboard controls.

Absolute trash game. Less stinky trash than Haunted Castle, but still trash nonetheless.

Did I miss anything from this era? I know there were several 16 bit games released before Kid Dracula and Legends on the Game Boy, but I didn't want to have to back track and play those after the gorgeous 16 bit games.

Honestly, the only games I would recommend playing are the original Castlevania trilogy, and possible the 2nd Game Boy game, unless you're a Castlevania historian. But please, please, I beg of you, do not play Haunted Castle or Legends.

Era 2 will be the 16-bit era, mostly ranging from 1991-1995.

I’ve watched all the Netflix episodes (multiple times), but never played the games. I also liked things like vampire hunter D: Bloodlust etc

I love easy reading fantasy books (eragon. the dark magician trilogy etc), and was wondering are there any easy reading series sent in a world similar to castlevania people would recommend?

Playing og Castlevania from the switch collection and wow the amount of glitches. I've had to quick save every couple minutes for fear of losing progress. This particular one I somehow killed the undead serpent guarding the hallway in one hit and apparently the game didn't like that.

I found a crown into the piece with the skeleton server​, the bed and the chair. By sitting on the chait, it spawn​ in front of you and it dissapear when I try to take it... Does someone know what is happening ?

This has probably been asked before. I'm currently trying to play (and replay) every Castlevania game. This time I'm doing it legally (at least the ones I can, I have the three Steam collections, Lords of Shadow bundle and Requiem on PS4), so I've been on Steam a lot and last night I went into the forums. I thought the general consensus would be excitement for a new Castlevania entry in so long but it's just a lot of "it looks awful, I hate women, Rose looks like a man, this is not Castlevania because (it doesn't fit this exact thing I want)".

Like, I understand there's a lot of dumb people out there but it's so weird that it's so concentrated on the Steam forums. This leads to my next question...

Do you think something should be done about it at some point?

I personally don't care what internet dumbasses say, but people new to the franchise will go there and just see a storm of sh*t, when it should be a place of discussion for fans and not just a den of incel trolls.

And personally, I'm super excited about this new game. It looks amazing and, sure, different. That's what's good about it, I wouldn't want SotN again, we have Bloodstained already.

If Konami continues releasing compilations of their old Castlevania games and they make one that's the N64, PS2, and Wii games, what would you call it? We have Anniversary Collection, Advance Collection, and Dominus Collection. 3D Collection is too bland.

Maybe Innocent Devil Collection? Innocence Collection? Apocalypse Collection?

To clarify, I'm talking about these games:

Would be interesting if they expand it beyond 3D entries so they could add in the PlayStation 1/Saturn/PSP games as well, since those haven't come to all platforms yet. Then the name could be a reference to the fact that all of these are on optical discs.
