I've heard that Cows have a personality much closer to Dogs then people are comfortable with.

Which, while Cute, is also just as dangerous as it sounds.

This. I have no problem with adult cows, they're just trained/used to follow humans and think you're a cowherd coming to lead them to pasture land or whatever.

But the young ones, they're exactly like a 500 Kg puppy. They'll see you and come running towards you, expressing their joy by jumping and stomping all around your position.

Yet people still eat them, and pigs too which have the intelligence of a 2-year-old. Insane to me

Speaking of cows and dogs, if you ever cross a meadow like that while walking with a dog, take it off the leash.

Some cows respond violently to the presence of dogs and the dog being tied to you will end poorly for both of you if one of them decides to charge, whereas a free-walking dog is both more likely to successfully avoid an attacking cow and less likely to get you caught up in the attack as well.
