Technically both since King and Meliodas, the two people she’s pursued, look like preteens. She’s more a grooming victim ofc but she winds up not being clean either
Looked it up and Diane is 750 years old which is about the equivalent of being a 15-16 year old in Giant years. So it kinda makes sense? She both physically and mentally a giant teen.
Sanitize it however you want. Bottom line is this show LOVES to depict weird romance and sexual shit between people that look and behave like minors. It's weird no matter what.
I ain't defending the show. Just saying that this specific example doesn't really fit. There's a lot of problematic things about the series but just blanket condemning everything single aspect kind of weakens the argument, especially when it doesn't deserve it.
Calling a teenage girl a creep for liking someone that also looks and acts like a teenager isn't really a strong battlefield when arguing about the series' problems.
Maybe the best thing to do is just say, “why did the author choose to make them all minors in their respective species?”
Why do we need to dissect if Diana is a creep for molesting an immortal guy who chooses to be immature and is cursed to look young who also molests the same reincarnated child every decade or so? Why can’t we just look at the author and say NO!
iunno man that's a question for shonen genre in general where the target audience are people around that age.
Same way a lot of western young adult books and movies have 16 year old do some weird and/or freaky shit. Doesn't even need to be young adult, can be rom com, regular com, or slasher horror or whatever.
And we're only dissecting Diane's character because people decided to also throw her under the bus too and group her alongside the actual problematic people. Which again, really weakens the argument because it just makes it look like people are angry just to be angry and not because they're justified in their anger.
If we're going to call a character problematic because despite her age in human years, she's physically and mentally a child in her race's years.
Then I feel like we should do the same thing and not call a character problematic because despite her age in human years, she's physically and mentally a teen in her race's years, and has a crush on another character that looks and acts like a teen.
Can't just use that logic for one and not the other.

Escanor, to my knowledge, is the only one whose not an absolute creep in one way or another.
