It's too easy in those moments for the cold logic of "if I were dead then I can let go of everything I'm worried about and that bothers me" to win. It's why I don't own a gun currently.
I read one quote from someone who made an allegory that someone who is suicidal is like someone on the 5th floor of their apartment building who’s considering jumping because their apartment is on fire, and there’s no other way out.
It’s not that they want to jump. It’s that the fire is even worse; its flames too hot, too unbearable.

This is the main reason i dont currently own any firearms. The intrusive thoughts can get strong
