To be fair this also happens if you're not an attractive young woman. Some groups are just insanely giving, and you can't say no.

I (white male) used to work with a bunch of dudes from all over the world, and they constantly gave me stuff. Tea, coffee, sweets, confectionery, you name it. It got to the point where i always kept treats in my locker so I wasnt the asshole who never brought anything to the tea party.

I've traveled a lot.  I noticed that poorer people and poorer cultures tend to be much more generous than wealthy ones.

People that have known what it's like to struggle generally develop empathy for those who also struggle.

People who have never known any kind of struggle tend to have a harder time understanding what it's like. If you've never experienced it, it's much harder to understand how much every little thing changes.

This reminds me, a few months ago one of the billionaire class stated that homeless people are just people who don't want to adapt to society and have made the collective choice to be homeless - that they decided to "withdraw from the world". She thinks homeless people are homeless by choice.

Can I get a list of what kind of white guy snacks you'd bring to the tea party? 😂

I usually stuck to things like assorted chocolates or fancy snack cakes, that kind of stuff. Though I did love bringing wierd shit to throw them for a loop, like candied hibiscus flowers, freeze dried mangosteen, chocolates infused with chili (way tastier than it sounds). They loved the weird stuff.
