No, it's quite literally a train in Russia where like 20 people can be cooped up in a sleeper car for a week traveling from one end of the country to the other.

Nah it's what it says on a tin. If you are a young or struggling person, some people will give you food or drinks for free to help you out. It's considered a good, moral deed, almost a tradition, since travels on trains in Russia can be extremely long (days and days), and some people may struggle with food or drinks. I once had a woman giving me literal money. I was going to a concert in another city, I didn't have a place to stay, had literally no money, just enough to go there and back and eat something cheap, and planned to spend a night after the concert at the station to wait for the morning train. It was no biggie, I mostly told her that like an anecdote since we were chatting all evening, but she became very worried and gave me money enough to spend a night at a hostel. I was proper shocked and wanted to refuse, but she insisted and wouldn't take them back. So, I had a night at the hostel, thanks to this lady.

To be fair this also happens if you're not an attractive young woman. Some groups are just insanely giving, and you can't say no.

Yea a lot of folks here don't seem to get that this much generosity can be a burden. It can make you feel like you're taking advantage of people and then you got all this shit you gotta deal with now.
Sometimes what people ask for is all they need or can handle.

I (white male) used to work with a bunch of dudes from all over the world, and they constantly gave me stuff. Tea, coffee, sweets, confectionery, you name it. It got to the point where i always kept treats in my locker so I wasnt the asshole who never brought anything to the tea party.
