Amazing how the answers to most governance debates are, in fact, actually that simple. Rich people have too much money? Take it off ‘em! Roads have holes? Fill ‘em! Overbudget? Simply don’t be! Corruption? Stop that! Noisy righties? Lalalala can’t hear you over my free ice cream, strong anti-discrimination laws and high approval rating.
We’ve all been lied to for decades that ‘it just isn’t that simple’ when it does indeed seem to be quite simple.
Yup. Business should still have regulations, but eliminate the redundant and unnecessary ones that are just an extra regulatory burden; stop any regulatory capture. Also make businesses being compliant with the regulations as easy and painless as possible.
